Doushitemo furetakunai

This is an office romance BL drama with a straightforward plot. The past of the main lead was made a little mysterious to the audience, but it's really no mystery at all. Everybody can figure it out with a simple logic. So I think that it's safe to say that there's no plot twists in it. The chemistry between the main leads was solid. Even though there's no grand musical touch added, but you can feel it linger. There's a tame sex scene in it, nothing wild. If only they put more music in this movie, it would've made the story even more dramatic and compelling. For those who are curious about the ending, I tell you this : no need to worry about sad or bad endings in this movie.

I am not a person who usually reads mangas and watches their adaptation and hence, I was very skeptical about watching this initially. However, I took my friend's advice and saw it.

And honestly, I loved it. The characterizations, the minimal dialogues and the soothing strumming of the guitar in the background. Altogether they managed to set up a touching movie about falling in love.

If you are looking for something out of the bag,then this might not be your cup of tea. However, if like me, you are sincerely sick of all the movies with so called romance in them being released as of late, then do give this movie a go.

A bit slow paced, but I think it just added to the beauty of the movie.

If I start this review with how the storyline was, it was slow paced, confusing at times due to its complexity but simple once you watch the entire movie.

The camera angles sometimes felt off and could have been better but they gave this movie an aesthetic feel.

When I started watching I judged that this movie will be a 3 or 5/10 but with time came more clarity.

Not the best Japanese BL movie but definitely worth the watch as it will take you through a different narration of workplace romance and bring tears to your eyes!

It is the story of an insecure shy gay guy and his preoccupying bold straight boss who both are dealing with their sexual preferences, their feelings for each other and their past life tragedies of family and relationship.

The acts are very good. The plot is simple but strong and well drafted. Although Japanese culture is not easily understandable for me, the characters, behaviors and reactions make a lot of sense and connects with me very much. I did not give it ten because it is a perfect movie but it shows human feelings very well and get you engage with them including hope, fear, heartbreak, challenge and sexual approaches and dilemma to have family. I recommend it strongly.
