Hidden gem

Just came across this hidden gem on Netflix while Igave myself the quest to watch all available Dutch spoken movies. And to be honest: that spans a wide spectrum, ranging from trash movies to great entertainment , but this movie is something else... This one realy struck me. Is it because of the recognizable story, is it because of the recognizable characters, I don't know. What I do know is that it is well written, with some great acting in it. All in all: this movie is a real hidden gem that, in time, I hope is going to earn the respect and attention it deserves. My message to you: please give it a try.

Café Derby is based on the true story of Pope John Paul II's visit to Belgium from 16 to 21 May 1985. The footage of the Pope in the movie is actual footage of the outdoor Mass led by the Pope in Ghent on 17 May 1985 which was attended by 150,000 people.
