‘The Stuff’ Is Back and Hungrier Than Ever
Image
Arrow Films is reviving one of the most bizarre and biting satires in horror cinema with the announcement of a new Limited Edition 4K Uhd and Blu-ray release of The Stuff, set to hit shelves on 21 July. Originally unleashed on audiences in 1985, Larry Cohen’s cult sci-fi horror gem serves up a sharp jab at American consumerism, advertising manipulation, and the insatiable appetite of the masses – all wrapped in gooey, alien-infested packaging.

The Stuff follows David “Mo” Rutherford, a former FBI agent turned industrial saboteur, who teams up with junk food magnate Charles “Chocolate Chip Charlie” Hobbs and a young boy named Jason. Their goal: uncover the sinister truth behind the wildly popular dessert sweeping the nation. With its zero calories, delicious taste, and unsettling side effects, The Stuff is more than just another snack; it’s a parasitic organism that turns its consumers into hollowed-out shells, paving the way for a zombie-like takeover.

New 'Now You See Me 3' Title, Fourth Film Announced At CinemaCon
Image
The long-awaited threequel in the hugely popular Now You See Me franchise just got a magical update, with the heist follow-up now being given the title that fans have long wanted to see. Announced at the ongoing CinemaCon event, Now You See Me 3 will see the core cast, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher return to once again cause all manner of mystical mischief as the Four Horsemen. And that's not all, as the third film won't be the end of the franchise.

Rather than following the trend seemingly set by its predecessor and being called Now You See Me 3, the third outing will instead be titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, it has been revealed. And thus finally doing what fans have wanted for some time (many expected and hoped the second movie would be given this title at the time). Moreover,...

How I Met Your Mother Features A Sneaky Cameo From Its Two Creators
Image
There's nothing more delightful than when a director/creator inexplicably shows up in the thing they're making. That's why I'll always love M. Night Shyamalan movies, even the bad ones, and why I love every Gordon Cole scene throughout "Twin Peaks." Sure, sometimes the guy doing the cameo isn't good at acting, but that's often part of the charm, like when writer John Green awkwardly stumbled through a deleted scene of "The Fault in Our Stars."

"How I Met Your Mother" got in on this schtick too with its season 1 episode, "Milk." This episode features a scene where Barney attempts (and succeeds at) an elaborate pick-up line, one that starts off with him scaring a woman at the bar by acting like she's having some serious health crisis. As part of the trick, Barney even brings in two paramedics who are apparently in on the ruse. Those paramedics are played...

“James Spader isn’t funny”: The Office Had a Hard Time Accommodating James Spader, One Exec Even Said the Show Needs ‘Brilliant Comedians’ Instead of Him
Image
The Office became a huge ratings success thanks to the brilliant anchoring performance from lead star Steve Carell. However, Carell exited the series during its seventh season with actor James Spader being chosen as his replacement for season 8. Nonetheless, Spader’s stint lasted only one season, with one executive feeling he wasn’t the right fit.

James Spader replaced Steve Carell in The Office (Credit: NBC).

Although Spader was a household name when he signed on to play the lead in the sitcom’s twilight years, executives pinpointed the reason he wasn’t the ideal replacement for Carell, who did most of the comedic heavy lifting for the series in the earlier seasons. Here is what one executive producer on The Office had to say about Spader being a poor replacement for Carell.

What Happened to Richard Gilmore in Gilmore Girls?
Image
Richard Gilmore is a character of depth, dignity, and complexity in Gilmore Girls, representing traditional values pitted against the pressures of family expectations. Played by Edward Herrmann, Richard was a grounding force in the Gilmore family, embodying an era of old-school charm and conservative principles that often clashed with the modern, independent spirit of his daughter, Lorelai. As a father, husband, and grandfather, Richards relationships with the women in his life were complicated, shaped by both love and friction, loyalty and misunderstanding. His connection to Lorelai, in particular, was ripe with generational differences that challenged their family dynamic, providing a rich layer of tension throughout the series.

Over the course of Gilmore Girls, Richards character arc is defined by growth, introspection, and vulnerability, reflecting the nuanced journey of a man who is both a protector of family tradition and an evolving figure within it. Through key episodes, viewers witness Richard grappling with professional transitions,...

15 Essential Starfield Xbox Mods Your Next Playthrough Shouldn't Be Without
Image
If Bethesda games, like Starfield, are known for anything other than their massive worlds, it would be their modding communities. Thanks to the Creation Kit modding tool that has been supplied with most of Bethesda's projects, very few titles have had the capacity for modding that the company's games do. The capacity for modding is so great that these mods have even made it to consoles, with Starfield supporting player-made content for the Xbox Series X/S.

Mods can greatly change the experience of a game. Provided that mod authors have made it, anything can be added to a game, from lightsabers to replacing dragons with Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends in Skyrim. Starfield is no exception, and many of the most popular mods for Xbox objectively improve the gaming experience. These can include bug fixes, AI improvements, and new skills.

This 'Gilmore Girls' Scene Is Even More Heartbreaking for Me To Watch Now
Image
Despite being one of the ultimate comfort shows, especially during the fall season, Gilmore Girls isnt without its sad moments. There are breakups, fights between family members that feel a little too on the nose, and long-festering grudges. Usually, theres a quirky town event or a classic Gilmore line to break up the tension, but in the Season 1 episode Forgiveness and Stuff there was little that could be done to distract from the upset going on in the episode. To this day, no matter how many times I rewatch the series, this episode is one I debate skipping over until Im in the right mood for it. Even knowing that it ends happily, its still a heavy watch, and it only cuts deeper now.

Friday Night Dinner’s Goodmans are the Perfect Horrible Comedy Family
Image
Friday Night Dinner knows the truth about families. Not that they bicker, mock and childishly compete – sitcom’s known about that since Steptoe & Son. No, Friday Night Dinner knows that families aren’t made up of people; they’re made up of odd habits.

Did you ever invite a friend home from school and pray that none of your family’s Weird Stuff would leak out into the playground the next day? That your mum’s special word for a fart wouldn’t follow you down the corridor into Maths, and the dinner hall wouldn’t echo with the high-pitched voice in which you all talk to the dog? Perhaps you hoped against hope that your brother wouldn’t be wearing his comedy Viz Buster Gonad t-shirt, that no-one would see the wooden clothes peg holding open the choke on your dad’s car, and that nobody would call...

Cool Stuff: Bring The Oneders Home With Mondo's That Thing You Do! Vinyl Soundtrack
Image
"You mean actually make a record? A record record, record?"

The Wonders, formerly known as The Oneders, are about to make a splash on vinyl yet again. The soundtrack for the Tom Hanks-directed comedy "That Thing You Do!" is getting the vinyl soundtrack treatment, celebrating the story of the fictional one-hit wonders who skyrocketed on the Billboard charts and disappeared just as quickly. Tom Everett Scott, Johnathon Schaech, Steve Zahn, and Ethan Embry played the band in question (and they reunited at the height of the pandemic), while Tom Hanks portrayed the record executive who brought them to stardom.

In collaboration with Play-Tone, Sony Music, and 20th Century Studios, Mondo is releasing a special edition of the soundtrack featuring the earworm of a title song, as well as some of The Wonders' lesser celebrated tracks, including their big screen appearance singing "Shrimp Shack" as Cap'n Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters.

Why Director Rob Zombie Returned For Halloween 2 Despite 2007's Miserable Experience
Image
There's a reason that Rob Zombie came back for Halloween II. The director, producer, and writer of the 2007 remake of Halloween, Zombie put together a slasher revolving around the monstrous Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) as he hunts down high school student Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton). While Halloween was a complete success, Zombie was reluctant to return to the project, after experiencing an unprofessional environment during the shooting of the first movie.

In an interview on the Howie Mandell Does Stuff podcast (via ComicBook.com), Zombie explained why he bothered to return at all for Halloween II. The director revealed that if he wanted to get out of his deal without facing legal and professional consequences for it, he would have to finish off what he started by directing Halloween II, but wouldn't be held hostage for a third movie. See what Zombie explained below:

"I go to make the sequel, which...

‘Willow,’ ‘Dollface’ Among Dozens of Titles Being Pulled From Disney+, Hulu in Cost-Cutting Move
Image
Update, July 4: Another victim of Disney’s cost-cutting on the streaming front has emerged: “Crater,” a sci-fi adventure film about a group of children that hijack a rover before a member of the group relocates to a new planet. The film, starring Mckenna Grace and Isaiah Russell-Bailey with a featured role played by Kid Cudi, drew mostly positive reviews around its debut on the streaming service on May 12. Roughly seven weeks later, “Crater” has been pulled from Disney+.

The original report follows.

Disney’s content culling from Disney+ and Hulu is coming as early as next week — with the media company pulling off more than 50 titles, including series “Willow,” “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Dollface,” and movies such as “The One and Only Ivan.”

At the same time, CEO Bob Iger told investors last week that the company expects to raise the price on the ad-free Disney+ tier later...

Only One Of Quentin Tarantino's Director Friends Saw What A Hit Pulp Fiction Would Be
Image
"Pulp Fiction" hit theaters on October 14, 1994 as a bona-fide, paradigm-shifting indie blockbuster. It was the film geek's "Easy Rider," a movie no one knew they needed until it got plunged deep into their veins. It's hard to believe Quentin Tarantino didn't know what he had prior to premiering the film at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, but, per a 2014 interview with his buddy Robert Rodriguez, his first screening for friends and esteemed colleagues wasn't entirely reassuring.

Let's take a step back and survey the cinematic landscape in 1994. Tarantino was the equivalent of Nirvana pre-"Nevermind." He was a hit with film geeks who'd mainlined "Reservoir Dogs" and connected with Tony Scott's high-style take on "True Romance," but there was something potentially gimmicky about his writing. His screenplays were laden with deep-tissue pop-culture references and wildly violent set pieces. Oliver Stone's take on "Natural Born Killers," released two months prior...

The Prizes on Bullseye Had to Be Rubbish By Law
Image
The gag about Bullseye is always the speedboat. How many contestants in the ITV darts-based game show that originally ran from 1981 – 1995, had room in their life or garage for occasional Star Prize, the speedboat? (Bullseye presenter Jim Bowen’s 2012 joke to The Mirror that “the only contestants who ever won them lived in top floor flats in Coventry” was taken literally by The Coventry Telegraph who in 2021 launched a local winners search that is presumably ongoing.)

The Bullseye speedboat was its prize anomaly, a symbol of glamour and excitement in a sea of hostess trolleys, sheepskin coats and stainless steel cutlery. After the winning team of two had built their cash fund by answering trivia questions from dart-selected categories, they faced Bully’s Prize Board. There, they threw nine darts in an attempt to win eight prizes plus the bullseye special. Having done that, they had the option to gamble...

The show also splits between narratives of other friends and family members connected to the crash through lost loved ones. Dee Dee (Connie Britton) lost her husband Charles, who had a secret life in Los Angeles that she did not know about. Linda (Amy Forsyth) lost her husband Gary, and she is pregnant with his child. Bill Maher Jokes That Queen Elizabeth’s Death Was a ‘Sad Day for Inbreeding’ (Video)
Bill Maher
On Friday’s “Real Time,” Bill Maher had plenty of jokes about Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who died Thursday at 96. And in addition to those (pretty funny) jokes, he also wondered if her death means the end of the deferential reverence British citizens have for her.

“You all know the big story. Sad day for inbreeding,” Maher joked as he pretended to bow his head in a show of respect. “Queen Elizabeth died at 96, they say the cause of death was Meghan Markle’s podcast.”

“I like the queen, I do. Her personal estate they say was almost half a billion dollars, used to be worth a billion. That’s what you get for listening to Matt Damon,” Maher continued, referring to Damon’s hilariously ill-timed Super Bowl ads for cryptocurrency brokers.

“The White House is saying for a long time they didn’t know if Biden...

Dune Part Two Is Set To Shoot This Summer, Denis Villeneuve Teases 'More Harkonnen Stuff'
Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Oscar Isaac, Timothée Chalamet, and Zendaya in Dune: Première partie (2021)
"Dune" was, perhaps, the grandest sci-fi spectacle last year, which allowed both hardcore Frank Herbert fans and casual viewers a glimpse into the complex ecosystem of Arrakis. "Dune: Part Two" has been green-lit after the massive success of the first-parter, which earned multiple Oscar and BAFTA nominations (but the baffling absence of Denis Villeneuve in the Academy's Best Director category still has not sunk in for me).

According to an exclusive report by Empire, "Dune: Part Two" is set to shoot this summer, with a proposed release date of October 2023. The vast scale of Herbert's saga is yearning to be...

‘Woodstock ’99’ Documentary: A Long Day’s Journey Into ‘Break Stuff’

Woodstock ’99 was supposed to be sex, drugs, and rock & roll. Instead, what we got was three days of mob violence, sewage spills, and Jamiroquai. If you weren’t there, congratulate yourself on at least one shrewd life decision. (If only the decision not to be born yet.) If you went, prepare for some nasty flashbacks in the new HBO doc on the infamous festival, Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage. (It premieres on July 23rd.) In terms of a handy metaphor for the death of the Nineties dream, you can...

Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV Series Costs Around $450 Million Just for One Season
Image
The final season of HBO’s blockbuster series “Game of Thrones” garnered headlines for costing $90 million (aka $15 million per episode), but that price tag is chump change compared to the millions Amazon is reportedly spending on its upcoming “Lord of the Rings” television series. Early reports in 2018 pegged at least two seasons of “Rings” costing Amazon in the $500-million range, but now The Hollywood Reporter confirms just the first season is set to cost around $450 million.

The $450 million price tag was first reported by New Zealand publication Stuff, which confirmed the series qualifies for a government subsidy of Nz$160 million because the budget is estimated at Nz$650 million (which translates to 450 million in U.S. dollars). A source close to Amazon confirmed the Stuff report as accurate.

Stuart Nash, New Zealand’s Economic Development Minister, touted “Rings” as “the largest television series ever made” in an interview with Morning Report,...
