Lalo Schifrin, the Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning composer behind the “Theme From Mission: Impossible,” has died at the age of 93.

The composer’s son Ryan confirmed his father’s death to the Associated Press, adding that Schifrin died Thursday due to complications from pneumonia at his home in Los Angeles.

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' to Reportedly Feature Scorpion, Boomerang & Tombstone
Image
Despite recent casting developments, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been shrouded in mystery. The MCU sequel, which stars Tom Holland and Sadie Sink, is set to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) and will usher in a new era for the web-slinger. That said, it seems Brand New Day will feature at least three different villains, one of which has already made their MCU debut.

According to Chris Higashi, an attendee at the Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products presentation, the company showed off new visuals for their upcoming MCU projects, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It was reportedly revealed that the Tom Holland-led sequel will feature the classic Marvel villains Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone. Better Call Saul star Michael Mando made his first appearance as Scorpion in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but has since remained absent, until now. Check out the social media post below:

4 best Spider-Man movies to watch (and 2 bad ones to skip)
Image
Spider-Man is, without a doubt, one of the most popular characters ever created across any medium. Most people have related to him at one point or another ever since his comic book debut back in 1962. His sense of responsibility and willingness to do the right thing without caring about the cost have set an example for many generations. A lot of us aspire to be like him, and it is thanks to this level of popularity that he has been able to make his way into multiple adventures on the big screen.

Since Sam Raimi created one of the best superhero movies ever made in the form of Spider-Man (2002), there has been no shortage of big-screen adaptations of the character. Some of them have been so good that they paved the way for the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be created. However, others have failed to live up...

The Amazing Spider-Man Fumbled Peter Parker's Darkest Storyline & the MCU Fixed It With 1 Minor Change
Image
Quick LinksThe Amazing Spider-Man's Richard Parker, ExplainedYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Gives Richard an Evil Turn

The following contains spoilers for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, now streaming on Disney+.

Marc Webb'sThe Amazing Spider-Man movies weren't bad, but they did try to pack in too much in a short timeframe. They adapted the death of Gwen Stacy, used villains like Harry Osborn's Goblin, Electro, Lizard and Rhino, but everything felt rushed and hazy. That's most evident by the second Sony movie by trying to pack in Richard and Mary Parker's demise.

While exploring Peter Parker's relationship with his parents would've made for a compelling origin story, unfortunately, this underdeveloped storyline made the movie more convoluted. More specifically, Webb didn't know where to take that story. Clearly, Sony needed more films to detail the journey fully, only for that series to get cancelled. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is...

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode 5 recap and ending explained
Image
Let's do a bit of a recap, shall we? Peter Parker has spent just a few months being a superhero in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and he has worn more than 5 costumes, gone up against three bionically-enhanced individuals, and accidentally revealed his secret identity to two other people. Needless to say, the wall-crawler has lived a few eventful weeks lately, but the worst is yet to come.

See, someone has been selling mechanic enhancements to small-time criminals and turning them into almost unstoppable nightmares. Audiences of the latest Disney Plus series were left in the dark for quite some time about the identity of this weapon dealer, but back in episode 4, the cat was finally out of the bag. Turns out that Doctor Octopus wants to make a name for himself in New York City, and he won't stop at anything to achieve that goal as evidenced in the latest episode of the series.

Kraven The Hunter Clip Featuring Rhino Battle Has Marvel Fans Hating On "Awful" Movie All Over Again
Image
2024 wasn't a great year for superhero movies, but an R-Rated Kraven the Hunter at least had the potential to end things on a positive note. It didn't.

As expected, Sony Pictures delivered another critical and commercial flop; Spider-Man was nowhere to be found in Kraven's goofy origin story, with the villain instead becoming a gangster-hunting anti-hero with daddy issues. He did, however, battle Rhino in the movie's final act.

In a bid to pay homage to that character's comic book appearance, he became a mutant, of sorts. Unfortunately, even that didn't really work. Not only is he far too small but the cartoonish design makes one of Spidey's most formidable enemues look like a leftover from a 2005 comic book movie.

A clip of Kraven and Rhino's battle has been receiving a lot of attention on social media over the past 24 hours, largely for how ridiculous it all looks.

Kraven The Hunter Blu-ray Cover And Full List Of Special Features Revealed Ahead Of March Release
Image
As we told you earlier today, Kraven the Hunter arrive on Digital platforms starting tomorrow, January 14. Now, it's been confirmed that the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD drops on March 4, the same day Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+.

Which of the R-Rated Marvel Comics adaptations will you choose to watch first? While one of Elektra's sai is on some newly revealed artwork, the Man Without Fear is likely to be a bigger draw than Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Spider-Man villain.

With this news of a Blu-ray release comes a full list of special features; we don't have specifics on those deleted scenes, though we can't imagine that scrapped Venom: The Last Dance crossover will be among them.

The biggest shock might be the fact Sony Pictures found not one but two positive quotes to stick on the Blu-ray's front and back covers...

Kraven The Hunter Is Reportedly Coming To Digital Platforms Much Sooner Than Expected
Image
Kraven the Hunter was released in theaters last month to overwhelmingly negative reviews - it sits at 17% on Rotten Tomatoes - and, so far, the movie has made only $58.9 million at the worldwide box office.

Sony Pictures is one of the only studios that doesn't rush its theatrical movies to Digital and streaming. However, with Kraven the Hunter now next to impossible to track down in theaters, a Digital release appears imminent.

According to When to Stream, the movie is scheduled to hit Digital and PVOD on Tuesday, January 14. While this hasn't been confirmed by Sony Pictures, it wouldn't be overly surprising to see the Marvel movie rushed out. Why? Well, so the studio can make its losses back from Digital sales (it's listed on Prime Video for $24.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent).

As some of you may be aware, an HD copy of Kraven the Hunter is already on...

"Best Reviews I've Ever Had For Anything": Kraven The Hunter's Rhino Actor Addresses Marvel Movie's Negative Reviews And What Role Sony Had In The 16% Rt Disaster
Image
Actor Alessandro Nivola discusses Kraven the Hunter's reception and explains his satisfaction with his role as the Marvel supervillain Rhino. Despite Kraven the Hunter's star-studded cast, the sixth installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe was met with some of the worst reviews in the franchise, and even worse box office results. Besides the titular villain-turned-antihero, Kraven the Hunter introduced three more famous Spider-Man antagonists — Dmitri Smerdyakov a.k.a. Chameleon, Calypso, and Aleksei Sytsevich a.k.a. Rhino.

In an interview with THR, Rhino actor Alessandro Nivola looks back on his antagonist role in Kraven the Hunter. When asked about his opinion on the factors that may have played into Kraven the Hunter's poor performance despite director J.C. Chandor's otherwise remarkable career, Nivola mentions the possible changes the studio might have made to the director's original vision and praises his previous work with Chandor. Kat Dennings Calls 1 Moment From MCU Experience the 'Coolest Thing That's Ever Happened' in Her Career
Image
Kat Dennings recently reflected on her role as Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of her favorite parts of playing the character surprisingly didn't involve being on the screen.

Dennings portrayed Darcy Lewis in 2011's Thor, later reprising the role in The Dark World and Love and Thunder. She also made appearances in the MCU television series WandaVision and What If...? as the same character. Speaking with Collider, Dennings described how becoming a Lego figure because of her MCU role is one of the coolest things to happen to her. "I pinch myself about that. I told my husband (Andrew W.K.) the other day that I think the coolest thing that's ever happened in my entire career is when I became a Darcy Lego," Dennings said. "They're called Lego Minimates, and there's a Darcy one. I literally can't believe that I'm a Lego. This is the best thing that's ever happened to me,...

I Wish The Masked Singer Would Have A Whole Season Of Non-Professional Singers
Image
The Masked Singer has featured some of the most iconic singers, including season 12's most recent winners Boyz II Men (Buffalos) and runner-up Mario (Wasp), but I wish the show would have a whole season of non-professional singers. The Masked Singer premiered in January 2019, with host Nick Cannon and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger. During season 11, Rita Ora took Nicole's place on the panel while the latter star was busy with other commitments.

The Masked Singer has had twelve winners so far--T-Pain (Monster), Wayne Brady (Fox), Kandi Burruss (Night Angel), LeAnn Rimes (Sun), Nick Lachey (Piglet), Jewel (Queen of Hearts), Teyana Taylor (Firefly), Amber Riley (Harp), Bishop Briggs (Medusa), Ne-Yo (Cow), Vanessa Hudgens (Goldfish), and Boyz II Men (Buffalos)--and all of them are professional singers in some capacity. However, the show has featured many fantastic singers who aren't from the music industry, and...

I Can't Believe Sony's Spider-Man Universe Ended Just After It Made The 1 Movie We've Been Waiting 6 Years For Possible
Image
Warning! This post contains Spoilers for Kraven the Hunter

It took Sony's Spider-Man Universe more than six years to set up its promised crossover movie, Sinister Six, and by then it was already too late for the Marvel villain team-up film. Sony's Sinister Six movie had been in the works since before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hit theaters in 2014. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 introduced multiple villains and teased the eventual introduction of several more, and it went so far as to add a credits tease of Sony's original Sinister Six line-up: Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio.

Sony's first plans for a Sinister Six movie fell through when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 failed to meet expectations. Ten years later, Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter's abysmal reviews and poor box office results seem to have forced Sony to put its Marvel movie franchise,...

10 Frustrating Kraven the Hunter Questions We'll Probably Never Get Answers To
Image
The following contains spoilers for Kraven the Hunter, now playing in theaters.

One of the frustrating problems with J.C. Chandor's Kraven the Hunter is the diminished emotional attachment. Even before the movie premiered, rumors swirled that this would be the end of Sony's partnership with Marvel. It hasn't been the most tenable with Spider-Man not in the mix for these origin stories.

Between the haphazard build-up of Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the lack of success for most of these films, everything seems to be building towards a lack of closure, especially by the time Kraven the Hunter wraps. This is further compounded by the fact various story threads are left hanging that may never be answered.

What Was the Rhino's Illness? The Rhino's Malady Is Never Revealed

Kraven The Hunter: Series’ Ending Explained
Image
Everything you need to know about Kraven The Hunter ( Photo Credit – YouTube )

If you’ve seen Sony’s Spider-Man universe flicks like Madame Web and Morbius, Kraven the Hunter ends pretty much how you’d expect. Aaron Taylor-Johnson starring as Sergei Kravinoff dives into the character’s backstory and his chaotic mission to save his half-brother from The Rhino.

But while Kraven’s transformation into the iconic Spider-Man villain is, well, inevitable, it feels more like a “meh” moment than a thrilling payoff. And don’t even get me started on the weird character choices that throw everything off.

What Does Kraven the Hunter’s Finale Mean?

Well, Kraven the Hunter wraps up with a moment that’s both iconic and let’s just say, a bit on the nose. After saving his big brother and Rhino-slaying rampage, a year later, Sergei opens a box and finds his father’s creepy trophy,...

Kraven The Hunter: 8 Easter Eggs, Spider-man References, And Cameos You Need To See - Spoilers
Image
Kraven the Hunter is Sony Pictures' latest critical and commercial flop in its slate of "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" movies. While Venom: The Last Dance performed well enough this past October, this villain's movie is set to be a bigger flop than even Madame Web.

While this is by no means a good movie, that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of Easter Eggs for comic book fans. We're not sure how much love went into making this thing, but the filmmakers did find some unexpected ways to pay homage to the Sergei Kravinoff seen on the page.

In this feature, we're breaking down all the biggest references and cameos, including any ties to Spider-Man's world. Does the web-slinger appear and how many of his villains are part of Kraven's story? We delve into that and more.

Check out Kraven the Hunter's biggest Easter Eggs by clicking the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

Will Kraven The Hunter 2 Happen? Here’s What We Think
Image
Should Kraven The Hunter Get A Sequel? (Photo Credit – YouTube)

After much impatient waiting, Kraven the Hunter has finally slashed its way into theaters. But now we’re all wondering, will there be a sequel, especially after becoming the lowest weekend opener in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe? Besides, the Ssu has had its fair share of misfires, with Morbius and Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter is stumbling its way to another critical and financial disappointment.

Of course, the pressure on Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven is exceptionally high, but Sony’s Spider-Man Universe would be on the edge considering the box office opening. And will the movie’s success pave the way for a sequel, or is Kraven’s hunt already over? We don’t know yet.

Kraven The Hunter 2 Is Not Confirmed

Here’s the deal: Kraven the Hunter 2 isn’t officially on the radar yet, and honestly, it’s shocking.

Kraven The Hunter's Rhino Design Is A Massive Upgrade From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 And I'm Disappointed It Was Wasted
Image
Kraven the Hunter has finally arrived in theaters, and the Marvel Universe film has finally introduced an exciting version of the Rhino, and now I'm worried this might be all we will ever get. The ending of Kraven sets up a future for some of the characters, although it remains to be seen if they will ever be followed up on. Sony has recently confirmed that they have no plans for further Spider-Man spinoff films, suggesting that Kraven the Hunter will actually be the last we see of these characters, including Rhino.

With the death of $2 billion franchise, Sony is moving on to other things. They clearly have plans for other projects, including their MCU Spider-Man 4 and the Nicolas Cage-starring Spider-Man Noir series on Prime Video. However, the abandoning of their established universe from these past years has left a number of questions, including about Knull's future. Following this line of thinking,...

Kraven The Hunter Makes A Huge Change To The Origin Story Featured In The Original Trailer - Spoilers
Image
The first Kraven the Hunter trailer was released last June and following another handful of release date delays, the movie is finally playing worldwide.

The teaser received the expected mixed response, with the biggest talking point being a last-minute Rhino tease and Sergei Kravinoff's new origin story.

In the comics, Kraven is a big-game hunter who, having conquered every animal, targets the vigilante Spider-Man. He'd later ingest potions made from various unnamed jungle herbs, granting himself superhuman abilities that made him an even greater threat to the web-slinger.

Back to that trailer, and it showed the young Kraven pointing his gun at a lion that mauled him when he hesitated to pull the trigger. The beast stands over him and blood from the lion drips into one of the teenager's wounds, seemingly giving Sergei supernatural powers.

The response to that was largely negative and, given time to tweak Kraven the Hunter,...

While the Sony Spider-Man Universe may have come to an end, some Marvel fans don't mind seeing Kraven the Hunter. This movie brings in the McU's Quicksilver, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but as Sergei Kravinoff. He takes on the identity of Kraven -- a vigilante who wants to kill criminals and poachers.

It's a different direction compared to the comics. As a result, Kraven runs afoul of his father, Nikolai (Russell Crowe), and other gangsters. It builds to an emotive ending, which sadly, won't have much payoff.

Kraven The Hunter Is The Second Marvel Movie To Botch A Classic Spider-Man Villain
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Kraven the Hunter."

"Kraven the Hunter" is the last straw for Sony's Spider-Man Universe, which seems to be dead and truly gone. After trying to build a bizarre universe of Spider-Man villains that aren't really villains — and also Madame Web for some reason — it seems the studio realized you can't really make a cinematic universe when your movies aren't really connected, and star characters that don't really act like they should be acting.

At least the universe formerly known as Spumc is going out not with a bang, but also not a whimper, as "Kraven the Hunter" is dumb, very dumb, and also not good, but it sure is entertaining. As our own reviewer noted, "The badness of 'Kraven' — paired with the blustering confidence of the lead character — lends it a certain kind of whimsical, let's-all-have-a-chuckle charm. 'Kraven' sucks, but one can still have a good time.

‘Marvel Champions: The Card Game’ Updated Review
Image
Fans of Fantasy Flight Games will be extremely familiar with the concept of the Living Card Game, an idea that takes the deckbuilding and customisation aspects of a Trading Card Game, but rather than selling products to customers in random boosters or similar, Living Card Games are sold in preset packs or bundles, each of which contains a specific list of cards. Marvel Champions: The Card Game is now one of the most well-established Living Card Games out there, and for some, it is without doubt the most exciting.

The base game includes five hero decks and three villains, allowing from one to four players to tackle each villain with a wide variety of different configurations. Each villain has their own scheme and can be played in either an easier or a harder mode depending on the experience level of the players. Whilst the set contains a completely prebuilt deck...

Am I The Only One That Thinks Kraven Actually Looks Pretty Good?
Image
Five years ago, in 2019, Sony announced Kraven The Hunter and Madame Web as two new entries into their Spider-Man Movies Without Spider-Man Universe. Naturally, everyone thought both ideas were weird. Personally, I was willing to give the universe a chance because I thought they were playing coy about Spider-Man and that he'd obviously show up eventually. Boy was I wrong.

Since the announcement of Kraven The Hunter, Sony has seen its Spider-Villain films either completely flop or have very mild success. Venom: Let There Be Carnage, received mostly negative reviews but made Sony some money. Then, the notorious Morbius was released and turned into a meme so severely, that the internet hilariously tricked Sony into rereleasing it. Madame Web, this year, barely grossed one hundred million and was panned by everyone. Venom: The Last Dance, stands at nearly 440 million dollars at the box office and the reaction from fans and critics has been mixed.

CathayPlay Short Film Review: Rhino (2023) by Larry Wu
Image
The exams for art schools are quite difficult on an international level, with many aspiring artists finding themselves unable to pass, even after repeated tries. Larry Wu, who was himself forced to retake the particular exam, focuses on the concept, along with an additional one, regarding mentors.

on CathayPlay by clicking on the image below

The movie begins with a black screen and a rather appealing female voice guiding in a way that reminds of hypnotism, while her words are mirrored in the background sound. It turns out that she is actually a tutor of actors, while soon the protagonist is yelling under her instructions, concluding the lesson. The movie then moves six months forward, after the acting exams, where we find Liu Zihang lying on his bed in his house, with his mother trying to make him move out of what seems to be some sort of depression.

I Challenge DC Cosplayers to Recreate Flash's New Speeder Bike Redesign (Complete with Vehicle)
Image
There have been lots of amazing comics cosplays over this last year, and DC just put down the biggest challenge to cosplayers yet with the Flash's new outfit. While many amazing cosplayers have portrayed the Flash before, a comics-accurate cosplay got a lot more difficult as the Flash added a giant futuristic bike to his outfit, and I challenge any cosplayer to recreate this new look in real life.

As Amanda Waller seeks absolute power over the DC Universe, she has begun using Amazo robots to hunt down and remove the power of all the superheroes. While Barry Allen has managed to avoid having his powers stolen, Wally West hasn't been so lucky. With his powers drained as of Absolute Power #3 by Mark Waid, Dan Mora, Alejandro Snchez, and Ariana Maher, Wally now has to rely on a superpowered bike that allows him to reach super speeds without the majority of his power.

Spider-Man Just Gave Us A Villain Friendship I Didn't See Coming - And I Hope Marvel Gives Us More
Image
Warning: Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #55!I can't believe that two Spider-Man villains turned out to be friendship goals for me. It's already rare enough to see bad guys form friendships, as I brought up in an old article I wrote about one particular Gotham friendship. WIth exceptions, most villains make uneasy alliances to stop the hero, but two conniving schemers can't be genuine with each other.

And yet, Rhino and Screwball instantly become my favorite supervillain friendship in the Marvel Universe, as of The Amazing Spider-Man #55 by Zeb Wells, Emilio Laiso, Bryan Valenza, and Vc's Joe Caramagna. I'm pretty sure that Screwball and Rhino have never so much as shared a panel together before this issue, but it takes no time before it's evident that their chemistry is so fun.

On top of just being a fun watch, their dynamic subverts expectations in a way that I desperately -...

Andrew Garfield Lied to His Ex-girlfriend Emma Stone But He Decided to Tell the Truth to His Close Friend Charlie Cox- Hilarious Story of His Spider-Man Casting in No Way Home Comes Out

Andrew Garfield’s skillful dodging of each and every question about his surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home was nothing short of impressive. He managed to keep his secret so well that even his ex, the Oscar-winning Emma Stone, couldn’t pry it out of him.

While Charlie Cox on the other hand, who also had a cameo appearance in the film, didn’t need to do any detective work at all, as Garfield spilled the beans in a single text message. Here is what happened!

Hilarious Way Charlie Cox Found Out Andrew Garfield Was Returning as Spider-Man

At the recent Tampa Bay Comic Convention 2024, Charlie Cox fielded questions from fans about past MCU shows and his upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in March 2025. During the event, he shared a behind-the-scenes...

Kraven's Villain Will Break A Tired Spider-Man Spin-Off Trend From All 4 Sony Movies
Image
Kraven the Hunter will bring new life to Sony's Spider-Man Universe with its unique approach and R-rating. Kraven's antagonist offers a fresh dynamic, unlike previous Ssu villains who mirrored the main characters. The film's spin on Rhino as a powerful yet temporary rhino-human hybrid sets the stage for an exciting showdown.

Kraven the Hunter will add new life to Sony's Spider-Man Universe by breaking a trend from its first four Marvel films. The first four movies in Sony's Spider-Man Universe have been extremely inconsistent. While the Venom films aren't critical darlings, they performed well at the box office, with both films combining for more than $1 billion. The same can't be said for Morbius and Madame Web. Critics tore both films apart and audiences didn't show up, leading to massive underperformances at the box office.

Sony has two more films debuting in 2024: Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter.

“People go to Spider-Man to watch Spider-Man not his villains”: Sony Becomes the Ultimate Villain for Tom Holland’s MCU Future With its Bizarre Rule That Will Affect Spider-Man 4
Image
Over the years the larger Marvel world has brought about many iterations of our beloved web-slinger to live-action, with Tom Holland being the latest one to lead the role. Having won over the fans with his natural charm, Holland has quickly become a fan favorite. Many now expect the actor to give them the experience previous Spider-Man films have failed to do.

However, it seems Sony may become a hindrance and the ultimate villain threatening his future. With an unusual rule that could drastically impact the direction of Spider-Man 4 and Holland’s future appearances, Sony’s tight grip on the character and its related characters has left some fans seething while others remain indifferent.

Kraven's New Rhino Is A Near Perfect Answer To The Amazing Spider-Man's Disastrous Redesign
Image
Kraven the Hunter will release in 2024, introducing new Marvel villains to the Sony Spider-Man Universe. The new Rhino design in Kraven the Hunter is a vast improvement over The Amazing Spider-Man 2's own. Rhino's CGI face in Kraven the Hunter may still present some issues.

In 2014, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 debuted a disastrous redesign of the iconic Marvel villain Rhino - but Kraven the Hunter is about to answer the misstep perfectly. Now that Deadpool & Wolverine has hit theaters, the remainder of 2024 is entirely in the hands of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, as Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter comprise the rest of 2024's Marvel movie releases. Kraven the Hunter will round out the year on December 13, 2024, after its release date was pushed back once again from August 30.

“That rhino is trash and that scene is corny”: Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven The Hunter is Better Than Andrew Garfield’s Tasm Atleast in One Aspect
Image
Bringing iconic comic book villains to life is a tricky balancing act for filmmakers. They need to stay true to the character while also finding the right mix between exaggeration and realism. In this context, both The Amazing Spider-Man and the upcoming Kraven the Hunter offer their take on the menacing villain Rhino. But it seems like Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s movie might be onto something groundbreaking.

Based on the recently released trailer, it’s clear that Kraven the Hunter is aiming for a Rhino who is not only physically intimidating but also psychologically complex. This fresh take moves away from the simpler, though memorable, version we saw in the Andrew Garfield starrer.

Kraven the Hunter Trailer Unveils the Strangest Version of the Rhino Yet
Image
The latest trailer for Kraven the Hunter features a long-awaited character from the Spider-Man mythos. No, not Spider-Man. Of course it’s not Spider-Man. Kraven is the latest in latest in Sony‘s attempts to build a cinematic universe based on Spider-Man characters, but without using Spider-Man.

No, the newest character is Aleksei Sytsevich, better known as the Rhino. We’ve seen clips of Aleksei in his civilian form, played by Alessandro Nivola. But this latest trailer is the first time he’s appeared in his Rhino form and it is… different.

The trailer shows Aleksei transforming into a type of human/rhino hybrid, a beast who smashes cars much like every other giant muscleman in superhero movies. That’s a real change from the comic book version of the Rhino, and even those seen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the Spider-Man video games. Usually, Aleksei becomes the Rhino...

A Classic Spider-Man Villain Arrives in New Kraven the Hunter Trailer
Image
Sony has released a new trailer for Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as its title character, Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven. The action-packed trailer also featured the full debut of another classic Spider-Man villain, The Rhino.

After being teased in the first footage Sony ever released for Kraven the Hunter, which was back at CinemaCon 2023, Rhino was fully revealed in the new trailer for the upcoming superhero movie. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Romita Sr., Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #41 in 1966 as a Russian thug who underwent an experimental procedure that gave him an artificial skin covering and superhuman strength. Alessandra Nivola will portray The Rhino in Kraven the Hunter, becoming the second actor to portray the classic Spider-Man character in live-action after Paul Giamatti. Kraven The Hunter Hi-Res Trailer Screenshots Reveal Just How Ridiculous Sony's Mutant Rhino Looks
Image
Earlier today, Sony Pictures released a bloody new trailer for the long-delayed Kraven the Hunter movie. On the surface, it looks like a fun, incredibly violent, action-adventure.

However, as Kraven is one of Spider-Man's greatest foes, many fans are understandably disappointed to see the Hunter turned into an animal-loving killer of men. Throw in the fact Avi Arad is producing and we're bracing ourselves for bizarre Morbius-style changes to the comics.

The new sneak peek showcases one of them as we see more of the "mutant" Rhino. That villain is a tough nut to crack; The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tried and failed to put him in a mechanical suit and it's admittedly tough to replicate the character's size on screen in his classic, skin-tight costume.

At first glance, this take on Rhino appears relatively comic-accurate. However, some new hi-res screenshots (via @Cryptic4KQual) reveal just how silly Alessandro Nivola's rampaging baddie looks here.

Sony has now dropped a new R-rated trailer for Kraven the Hunter, the next installment in their (questionable) Spider-Man Universe, aka the Ssu. Marvel Fans Are Shockingly Divided on Kraven the Hunter's Comic-Accurate Rhino - Main Image

A classic Spider-Man villain just showcased its comic-accurate look in the latest trailer for Sony's Kraven the Hunter. While the upcoming iteration of Rhino is closer to how the Marvel villain looked in the comics, fans can't help but compare it to its equally divisive The Amazing Spider-Man 2 counterpart from 2014.

Kraven the Hunter's Comic-Accurate Rhino Came Decades Too Late

As Marvel fans delve into the live-action depiction of Kraven the Hunter (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson), the new recent trailer also shows an updated version of Sony's Rhino aka Aleksei Sytsevich (played by Alessandro Nivola) in the flesh.

It is worth mentioning that the version of Rhino we see in Kraven the Hunter is a closer comic book depiction than what fans witnessed in Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

And yet somehow,...

Ok Marvel, Now I Really Want To See Those No Way Home And Deadpool & Wolverine Spinoffs
Image
Warning: This post contains Spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine

Both Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine confessed they lost their way some time before their MCU introduction. Spider-Man and Wolverine's stints as lethal anti-heroes warrant an MCU spin-off movie of their own. While spin-offs for these characters could be massive hits, Marvel is unlikely to develop them due to the McU's current focus on other projects.

Both Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: No Way Home subtly set up at least one MCU spin-off each. The Multiverse Saga has allowed famous live-action iterations of Marvel characters to return on the big screen. Spider-Man: No Way Home brought all three major Spider-Men and five of their enemies together, and Deadpool & Wolverine not only brought back the titular heroes but also several characters from different Marvel movies in the form of Deadpool & Wolverines many cameos.
