I laughed, I cried, I felt all the feelings. Danke für Nichts hit me deeply. It's for anyone who's ever been a teenager and felt like the world was both too much and not enough all at once.

Through its four female main characters, Vicky, Rici, Malou, and Katharina, and their absolutely messy lives and beautifully weird friendship, it captures the rawness of growing up in such an honest and touching way.

Their stories still echo in my mind since I saw it at Filmfest Munich. Finally, something German cinema can truly be proud of. Rarely has a film felt this alive. What a raw, funny and beautiful Movie!

One of the best films I've seen in years. Stella Merkert's directorial debut is bold, vibrant, and refreshingly different. The constellation of characters is truly unique-each one distant in their own way, yet they all manage to get under your skin. The dialogue is razor-sharp and precise, and the film's aesthetic pulls you into a nostalgic present that feels both timeless and immediate-a world you long to be part of. It strikes a rare balance between wit and emotional depth, offering a story that feels both personal and universal. I wish I'd seen a film like this in my youth-it would have stayed with me, just as this one will. It's funny (!), smart, and unapologetically original. Markert brings something truly new to German cinema. A voice we absolutely need more of.
