Jujutsu Kaisen: Trésor caché/Mort prématurée - Le film

Satoro Gojo and his classmate, Suguru Geto, are assigned to protect the Star Vessel. The assignment seems easy at first until they are attacked and are on a race against the clock to keep the vessel safe until the clock runs out.

The latest Jujutsu Kaisen movie is a slight expansion of the second season. The story focuses exclusively on Gojo and his past. The animation is taken directly from Season 2. The viewer's experience of the one-hour and fifty-minute runtime will depend on their individual experience. For those who have seen season two, it might be boring, and for those who have not, it will be exhilarating. With that said, it's a great movie to watch as a refresher before the release of season three.

This movie is from the anime series of Season 2's 1st part of the arc about Suguru Geto & Satoru Gojo along with Shoko Ieiri during their school days + working to exorcise demons. It started with young Mei Mei and Utahime Iori working in an abandoned castle-building. Then it continued to keeping Riko Amanai safe until she merges with Tengen. Characters like Toji, Yu Haibara, Nanami, Yuki, etc appeared.

After watching Demon Slayer 2025's movie, this JJK movie feels lacking, art is simple, editing is choppy and transitions are not smooth. It was amazing when I watched the anime series. So I was a bit disappointed and wished they had done a better job to make this more suitable as a movie. Since it's less than 2hrs, some scenes are shortened while some are cut. If you hadn't watched the anime before, I think it would be confusing as there is no explaination of the linkage between the characters.

The additional stuff in the movie is at the end where there are pictures of the friends. For ppl who had finished the manga, then this movie will feel nostalgic or even painful.

Extra details, scenes, and just being in the theater with the surround sound systems was a different experience.

The animation on the big screen was just to die for, it was amazing and beautiful. I'm pretty sure some scenes were even reanimated or polished. The music might be a bit different, but there for a fact is a different version of a song that appears. So definitely give it a watch if you are interested in the technical side.

Despite what some say about the series, I'm glad this got a theatrical release, always loved this story arc. Warms and breaks my heart every time.

Also I cried like a little baby at the end of the movie, go watch and you'll see what I mean, haha.

This movie hits hard emotionally, especially if you're already invested in Gojo and Geto. Seeing their friendship before everything went downhill adds a lot of depth to the story, and the tragic tone is done really well. The animation and fight scenes are top-tier as expected from MAPPA, with smooth choreography and strong visuals that make the big moments land.

That said, since it's basically a compilation of the anime arc, it doesn't feel like a must-watch movie if you've already seen the episodes. Some pacing feels rushed, and there isn't much new content to justify the theatrical format. Still, the emotional weight carries it, especially toward the end.

Overall, it's a solid watch for Jujutsu Kaisen fans not perfect, but definitely worth it for the story and character development.

I'm actually happy I got to see anime in cinemas again. I really love JJK and being able to experience it on the big screen is something I can really be glad of. The animation itself and the art was really good (it's MAPPA after all) and I also liked that there were less soundtracks played in this movie than in Season 2 of JJK.

The reason I'm not rating this a 10/10 though is because that this movie is a compliation of the first five episodes of Season 2, making the content of this movie nothing special at all. Sure, there were some extra scenes which made the movie more theatrical, but you can really just watch the show instead for the same portion of content.

I would recommend watching this movie for everyone who'd really like to experience anime on the big screen. That said, watching the first five episodes of JJK Season 2 is also an option :)
