The romance storyline consists of a boy pining away for a girl in their college years that was with someone else. The boy and the someone else become CEO business rivals at the unbelievable age of about 26. The girl then gets jilted by the rival and the boy-CEO swoops in and proposes a short contract marriage with her during his company's pre-IPO phase for PR purposes. They get along well, but neither the script nor the acting delivers any passion. The romance feel is underdone throughout and passion is absent. Was kind of like watching a tepid high school romance flick.
The rival business storyline runs parallel to the romance storyline, but the scripting and acting of 20-somethings throughout this storyline rendered almost no real drama, suspense or gravitas. This was no Dynasty or Dallas. It effectively became frame filler.
While Seth Edeen makes for a handsome protagonist, the movie spent too much time showcasing his puppy love side and not enough making him an accomplished man of confidence nor a passionate lover. However, his stringy-haired rival was portrayed even worse. The female lead casted looked like a cute high-school babe, not some sophisticated woman that wealthy men would desire. Her acting was way too timid as well. I think either of the two actresses that had the supporting roles would have been better suited to play the lead female.
While the storyline had the potential for some gripping business intrigue and an engaging romance element along the way, it fails to accomplish either.
