Avis à la une
This isn't just another monster movie-it's a fiercely intelligent survival thriller that pits two resourceful sisters against an unstoppable predator. The script avoids cheap jump scares, opting instead for slow-burn dread and character-driven tension. Cadence Wright delivers a powerhouse performance, portraying fear and determination with equal authenticity. The farm's layout becomes a character itself, with the directors using every creaky floorboard and shadowy corner to amplify the terror. Though the creature's full reveal is underwhelming, the film's emphasis on practical effects more than compensates. A must-watch for fans of The Ritual or Dog Soldiers.
Beneath its creature feature exterior, Bigfoot Blood on the Farm offers a poignant study of sibling bonds under extreme duress. The screenplay wisely spends its first act establishing the sisters' relationship, making their later life-or-death choices resonate emotionally. Kyle Crary's direction of actors results in performances that feel lived-in and authentic. The Bigfoot sequences benefit from restrained cinematography that suggests rather than shows - at least until the brutal finale. Some digital effects (notably a nighttime attack scene) betray the film's limited budget, but these are outweighed by strong practical work. The final image lingers in memory long after viewing, a testament to the film's unexpected emotional depth amidst the terror.
Needless to say that I was not familiar with this movie prior to stumbling upon it by random chance. And with it being a movie that I had neither heard about nor watched, of course I opted to give it a fair chance. Sure, given the movie's title and rather amateurish cover, then I harbored zero expectations to director Ashley Hays Wright.
The storyline in the movie proved bland, and I can't claim that I was particularly entertained. In fact, I started to zone out and do something else, as the interest in the narrative withered more and more as the movie progressed.
I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, which was actually a good thing, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were actually fair and did manage to lift the movie up a notch.
Hardly a movie worth watching and spending 62 minutes on, but I wasn't exactly expecting anything stellar here after all.
My rating of director Ashley Hays Wright's 2025 movie "Bigfoot: Blood on the Farm" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Bigfoot Blood on the Farm is an uneven but ultimately rewarding experience. The film's strongest asset is its complete commitment to verisimilitude - from authentic farm details to the sisters' believable dynamic. However, the screenplay occasionally struggles to maintain tension between major set pieces, falling back on familiar 'creature in the woods' tropes. When it works, it really works: a late-night barn confrontation is genuinely terrifying, showcasing David Owen Wright's talent for staging visceral action. The sound design deserves special mention, using rural silence as effectively as sudden, bone-chilling roars. While not every element comes together perfectly, there's enough originality here to satisfy horror fans tired of CGI-heavy studio films.
Bigfoot Blood on the Farm delivers exactly what the title promises - a gritty, grounded take on Sasquatch terror. Directors Ashley Hays Wright and David Owen Wright craft palpable tension through clever use of their rural setting, turning the wide-open farm into a claustrophobic nightmare. The sister protagonists (played with convincing authenticity) elevate what could have been a standard creature feature into a compelling survival story. While the budget constraints show in some technical aspects, the practical effects for Bigfoot himself are surprisingly effective - more animalistic predator than cartoonish monster. The pacing stumbles occasionally between set pieces, but the final act's desperate farmhouse siege delivers white-knuckle tension that makes the wait worthwhile.
