Wow, thank you for exposing the system and what the survivors of abuse go through. I thought I was just slipping through the cracks in the system, but this story is so similar to mine and I am starting to realize it is the SYSTEM that allows it. You are brave, you are bold and you are making a difference. Thank you.
People, pay attention. These crazy people exist and they are not rare unicorns. They are master manipulators. The courts and systems allow it and know EXACTLY what is happening. Don' t give up, you are amazing and will overcome, you will become stronger. Your experience will encourage others!!!!!!

The 1st 4 episodes were intriguing and fairly solid, with not too much over dramatized story telling. IMO the last 2 cliff Hanging episodes may have put a nail in the coffin of any possible return for this series. What could have been sumerized in a half an episode and split with another story was beaten like a dead horse for 5 times the attention that story deserved. I feel if it stayed with the original tragectory we'd have a season 2, unfortunately watching paint dry during episode 5 and 6 most likely means we won't see this beautiful woman return for a sophomore season. Ashame I was getting into the grove of watching this weekly at the start.
Toxic is a gripping and emotionally raw docu-series that sheds light on the complexities of domestic violence, control, and emotional abuse in relationships. The storytelling is intimate and powerful, and it does an excellent job of highlighting how abuse can often hide in plain sight. The interviews are heartfelt and the production quality is strong.
That said, there is a noticeable gap in the series that can't be ignored: its complete lack of racial and cultural diversity. All of the featured individuals are Caucasian, which unfortunately presents a limited and incomplete picture of domestic violence. Abuse is not bound by race, class, or culture-and when entire communities are missing from the narrative, it sends a message, intentional or not, that their experiences are less valid or invisible.
Many Black, Brown, Indigenous, and immigrant survivors face additional systemic barriers and cultural pressures that shape their abuse and their ability to seek help. By not including those voices, Toxic misses a valuable opportunity to deepen the conversation and reach a broader audience who need to see their realities reflected too.
In short, while Toxic is worth watching for its emotional depth and important subject matter, I hope future installments-or other creators-expand the lens to truly reflect the full spectrum of survivors and stories.

It's very rare I write a review here but it's clear this is getting review bombed by Armie lovers. Please don't listen to the misleading 1-2 stars. This show is coming out weekly so those reviewing it as a whole show shows the blatant disrespect. I had no idea who this host was and after the first episode I googled her, it's the only reason I was able to connect her story. She's truly shining a light onto victims and survivors as a journalist who's been there but not interjecting any of her personal story.
I genuinely wish she would do an episode on her story because she HAS been there and while it's clear she's coming from a place of empathy, I'd love to know more.
With that being said, the candor of this show is amazing and so beautiful to see. It's incredibly hard to watch but shines a lot on the stories so many women have to deal with. Whether it's the abuse or the injustice of our society and police departments.
I'm truly astounded by this show and cannot wait for more episodes to come out and applaud the host for retaining the light to shine on each victims individual story.

I consume a lot of this type of show and this one is terrible. I feel bad for the victims that get to sit there and hear the host plug her own experience into THEIR story-repeatedly...we get it lady, you went through some stuff...is the show about you, episode after episode, or what?...the pacing is weird, the host is off-putting and attention-sucking, and the actual depth of anything is really lacking...you will love this if you like watching "unscripted" reality shows but move on if you are looking for something deeper or more interesting than that...I'm really not sure what they were hoping for with this format...
EDIT-To be clear, my review is for a tv show and in no way can or should speak to the validity of a victims experience...it is bonkers to think someone would review bomb this trash because they support an abuser. Again, my biggest issue is that the trauma of the host is kept in focus in this show and that takes the attention off of OTHER victims...
