The double slit experiment...

The double slit experiment has got to be the most misunderstood, abused and misused result ever to come out of physics. And, aside from causing so many people to misinterpret quantum physics, it unfortunately forms the basis for mountains of both fiction and non-fiction literature.

You can't explain the theories tested in this movie in 2 hours

While not a superb film, it does assume you are familiar with theories such as Schrodinger's Cat. Or Unified field theory, or Parallel universes, or String Theory, or Brain bridging etc. I'm not going to pretend I know everything about these theories, but I do watch a lot of science and space documentaries. And also, many of these theories are controversial in science, philosophy, or religion.

RECOMMEND: If you like the POSSIBILITIES of of these theories, you may find it OK to watch - it kind of takes a leap of faith, aka 'imagination' but at least you'll understand it. I found it interesting - I've seen MUCH worse!!

All style no substance

What utterly contrived garbage, it spent so much effort making itself look "alternative" yet "trendy" that it forgot to actually include anything remotely like a coherrant story.

Sam Neill is about the only redeeming feature in this drivel, it's core ideas were interesting but it completely wasted them.

Created an account for the sole purpose of this review.

This movie was a disjointed, convoluted, and absolute piece of crap. Do not waste your time watching this. The "plot" is an incomprehensible mess with terrible acting.

Seriously, don't waste your freaking time. I feel robbed of 90 minutes. I'm legitimately angry about losing this small amount of time. I grant this movie no points and I hope the director has an unfulfilling and unhappy life.

What in the actual F

I was bored within the first 5 minutes. This movie has no plot line, period. The conversations between people make zero sense. The concept makes zero sense. There's almost a sense that the writer tried to purposefully make it not understandable in a conceided way like "this is beyond you, you wouldn't understand". I understand that I'm snoring and this is uncreative and just dumb.

A disconnected, discombobulated load of visual salad

The title of my review says it all. Not much of a story. It seemed like at first this might be a good watch, but for each idea they had...they move onto another extremely strange ordeal. Again, visual salad.

I have more than a passing interest in science, physics and theology but...

Trying to make sense of this is like using cotton wool for an anvil. It simply does not work. Not in any universe, however alternate or infinite. Save your money and your time. Avoid it.

style over substance is accurate

Pretentious, very over-acted, though I blame script and direction for that. It wanted to bring a coolness and edge to a critical analysis of religion and existentialism. It cast science in terms of religion, or religion in terms of science. It balanced the individual against the concept of a group consciousness. It played on the idea of reality as something that one could shift into and out of as a counter (or complement) to determinism. The film over-reached a fair bit and occasionally broke character to toss a line to the likely bewildered audience to help them get over some of the more significant leaps. There was too much slow-mo of Melia Kreiling, as delightful as her screen-presence is. Still, moderate effects, some decently pretty visuals, actors making the best of their material and it's not the worst thing I've seen lately. You're better off (re-)watching the Matrix for an equivalent sci-fi edginess that touches on similar philosophical topics but is way better (and doesn't show its age at all).

1 ratings do not exaggerate

The premise is interesting but the execution is beyond poor. Save yourself the time suck and skip this movie.

Self indulgent cliched mess of a movie. Someone must've had really rich really connected parents to get this made. What a mess.

Don't get the negative reviews

No spoilers just surprised how many people seem to already need some help in reprogramming their brains if they gave this such horrible ratings. Perhaps you have fallen into the Hollywood blockbuster, social media hive mind and need everything spelled out perfectly for you because sometimes beauty or originality can only truly be appreciated by those who still retain some original thought, a thirst for knowledge and stimulation beyond their smart devices ;)

Sci fi/Cyberpunk

Lot's of eye candy. The film has great photographic style coupled with a non-linear narrative, which some people will love and some may hate. I think hardcore fans of Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk will appreciate it.I would highly recommend everyone to watch this. Not sure why this movie is getting such negative reviews.

Not Worth Wasting Your Time!!!

The biggest mistake was to give into the marketing hype of collective cognition bands on the day of the world premier that would be given to the audience and results would be shown live after the movie to see the brain mapping (which didn't happen).

The movie has nothing to do with the experiment, the story, the plot-line is bizarrely vague and made no sense.

Everything was a rip off, marketing gimmick to sell this movie which even Sam O Neil couldn't have carried on his shoulders, the producers knew that this movie would be a huge huge disaster and the only way to make money would be create an unrealistic hype to justify selling the tickets 20 bucks a pop.

The story is meaningless, acting was worse than B grade movies, the graphics were cheap, there is absolutely nothing praise worthy about this film.

style over substance

teetering between a 4 and a 5 for me; it's pretty, shallow, and confusing... weak plot built out of decent premise.

it tries for the mindbendy wow that was managed in films like inception, but misses considerably...

i feel like if you enjoyed "the cell" there's a chance you'll enjoy this... it is pretty, i'll give it that

Not worth your time

1st 10 minutes had Sam Neill which gave it promise. The rest of the movie was a stinker. Boring and confusing with flashbacks. Watch "The Matrix" instead.

Misleading trailer, terrible movie

The trailer was really cool, made this seem like a sci-fi action movie with a really intriguing concept. The concept was intriguing but it was not sci-fi or action. The trailer was very misleading. It was mostly boring as dirt, and was very random. Movie was all over the place, plot was barely there, this SEEMED to have an anti-technology "science has gone too far!" theme but it was impossible to tell. Random bits were thrown all over, bad acting. This movie just sucked.

Don't let the one positive review fool you, if you want a philosophy lecture or discussion of the brain and consciousness or whatever, watch a lecture, not this bad movie. A lecture would be far more interesting. I love a cerebral, complex even difficult movie but this wasn't that, just bad.

Intensely mind bending movie that deserves credit

Mindgamers is a provocative movie that explores the implications of reality. The preconceived notion that it is governed by a force that is larger than any one of us is true but to what degree. As technology moves itself inching forward towards the edge of our reality what is it that lies beyond. It is ourselves or it is a unified universe in which everyone exists at one? Mindgamers asks the question of what is possible or what is impossible at the same time? It's a logical film that requires very careful attention. If you miss a scene then you'll be completely lost. Just like reality, it portrays the possibilities of what the human consciousness and how it affects each one of us is immeasurable.

Great low budget syfy

I don't know why this film has such a low score of 3.5. I am a hard-core sci-fi fan and I found it quite engaging. It wasn't the best thing on the lot by any stretch but it did introduce some interesting ideas and then had the audacity to actually answer them within the same film! Truly innovative! You have to remember that this is a low budget film. Yeah the FX aren't amazing but The actors performances are and that plus a good script with a decent ending is I should really be asking for for sci-fi film these days. I'll give it a seven and it's on Netflix right now.

believe the 1 star reviews

I have to warn other hopeful viewers to avoid this movie. Like the other 1 star reviews stated, this movie is incoherent and very poor in execution of the theme. It attempted to be artsy and failed to deliver the basic elements of a good movie. After 90 minutes you will wonder what you just watched and wish you could delete it from Netflix, so that no one else suffers.

There's another reality.. where i wasn't let down

Its funny, saying this movie is a waste of time in a way is a spoiler. the movie seemingly wants you to leave with that conclusion.

Its one of those experiences where at the credits end, you look around wonder what went wrong.

You look around the empty theater that has continued to be empty from the moment you arrived and realized you were the only one in a 45 mile radius to fall for this. You look on the screen after credits, and see some 'intense dude' with his 'futurey' cover of "grapevine" on repeat for 15 minutes.

You think back to the entire process that lead you there: when you first heard about the hype, the possibilities, the purchase of the twenty dollar tickets, and the thrill of driving 45 minutes to Greenville to see the film.

And you find yourself feeling goop-ed out of your time and energy. YouTube does what this movie does on the reg.

Its makes sense at the end

I honestly wanted to turn this movie off during the first hour or so. However I was bored and continued on. Honestly it makes a point towards the end that in my opinion reflects the direction we have headed.
