Every now and then you just need a cute gay romcom to give you a smile. The cast does a great job with this movie and it brings together all sorts of wonderful elements that contribute to good entertainment. The point of the movie is to be playful and fun so just sit back and enjoy. Seeing Sean Young in another film brought me back to my teen years. Watch with friends... And wine!
A great time of year to watch this film is also around the holidays. There is sort of a romantic escapism about the era and the costumes and it certainly is a nod to some of the classic films and classic scenes we all grew up with.

Who says they don't make them like they used to!! They've literally brought back the classics with this twist on the mad-ball comedy/mystery film. Nick and Nicky has a delightful cast, witty dialogue and clever whodunit plot. Glorious "technicolor" costumes and sets and Manhattan in all it's glory! What else can you want......Cary Grant and Randolph Scott?

An intoxicating Cosmo of a movie, with just the right mix of humor, glamour and suspense. Plus a twist of romance. "Nick & Nicky" is a frothy homage to the "Thin Man" comedy-mysteries of yore, and gay as all get-out. The actors, the settings, the costumes: all gorgeous.
A style reminiscent of Hollywood 30's and 40's. And what wedding doesn't come with a little drama. But this one ends up entwined in a murder mystery in the middle of it all. Will the wedding actually happen? Will the murder be solved? Sit back and enjoy the comedy and suspense as this wealthy gay couple navigate it all.
"NICK AND NICKY" (yes, the dog is Nora) I had the privilege of watching a new comedy/mystery feature written by and starring the highly talented, Patrick Askin! An old time 'who done it' with a modern tint. Clever conversation, story, and wit...visually beautiful. Donna McKenna cast Ian Whitt, Sean Young, Malachy McCourt, Consuelo Costin (Vanderbilt), Deborah Twiss, Tyler Hollinger, Glen North, Drew Henriksen, to name a few. Directed by Marcus Slabine. I had been invited to interview for the TV show, Stage Screen and In Between with Helen, while they were on location filming at the Vanderbilt Museum in Long Island, N. Y. Thank you, Patrick, for that honor. I am so impressed with how this movie turned out! Be on the lookout for NICK AND NICKY on an impressive platform!
