Avis à la une
The script and the acting are terrible . It is difficult to find a good movie because they all now have the same actors that are 1.light colored skin and some diversity yet without having brown colored skin Mexicans that represent the majority of the population except only for small roles , 2. Either too Hipster or too preppy type, 3. Always making the real Mexican culture seem like something theyre not too familiar with even though its filmed in the same country . I feel the casting is just nepotism without having any true talent. I feel the story is pretty obvious no real humor just feels forced.
"Mamá reinventada" marks the return to the big screen of Erika Buenfil, an actress who has dared to venture where others have not since her beginnings, as demonstrated in this story of a conservative mother who becomes a modern mother and manages to connect with her daughter. The film isn't perfect, but it manages to be good in its scope. Erika Buenfil, for her part, gives an excellent performance, masterfully combining comedy and drama, and Michelle Renaud gives a remarkable performance as her modern daughter, who also learns from her mother. The cinematography is good without being anything new, and it also manages to capture great visuals of the locations. "Mamá reinventada" is a comedy film that shines thanks to Erika Buenfil.
Losing a loved one is a tough moment in everyone's life, the beginning scenes of this movie managed to portray loss in a decent way
I liked that but the rest of the movie didn't feel genuine, specially the dialogues, they feel scripted and not like real conversations
Is the movie fun? I had fun with it, seeing the mom getting familiarized with today's terms like suggestive photos, buying toys for adults, the use of certain plant... and the doll steals every scene
That's about it, things to dislike would be sound issues at the beginning - Sometimes the background noise is suddenly cut, some songs are covers with auto-tune
and the plot itself is your tipical movie about two family members getting to know each other and accepting themselves
It's one of those movies you'll enjoy more than hate.

The movie falls short as it tries to follow the typical formula of a person who hasn't lived their life in Mexico.
It relies on clichés like tacos, dancing, and visiting iconic places. While this approach can work in some cases, here it feels forced.
Everyday elements of Mexican life are portrayed more as parody than reality, which is expected from films of this type.
People at the cinema seemed to enjoy it, as there were some laughs.
However, the representation of diversity felt forced - including a blonde police officer, an Argentinian priest, and lesbian characters.
While I understand the intent to reflect the population, it doesn't feel authentic.
One interesting aspect was the soundtrack, which featured some cover versions.
