Avis à la une
This 32 minute Visual Album is genuinely a masterful piece of work. So much love & passion has been poured into it and it really shows. Highly recommend that you see this in its entirety, as it's a wild ride from start to finish.
If you only know Jazz Emu from YouTube music videos, be prepared to see another side of him, and if you're not familiar, then be prepared to visit a unique universe that will keep you guessing.
Archie Henderson, the creator of Jazz Emu, wrote, produced & performed all the songs along with providing a fantastic acting performance as the characters of Jazz Emu & Shadow Emu. He is joined by long time friend & collaborator Hunter Allen who provides masterful direction and editing, and it is a true visual feast.
There is also a great supporting cast including cameos from Alex Horne of Taskmaster fame and Comedy Legend Harry Enfield. This film takes you on a journey that has so many twists and turns, that you may not have time to stop and think about what you've just seen and heard.
You will want to watch it over and over, not only to see new detail that you may have missed, and speculate on the meaning of the journey the characters go through, but also to watch/listen again to the music that is genuinely impressive, catchy, funny, heartwarming and unpredictable all at the same time.
You will laugh, you may cry, you might even get grossed out, but I guarantee that you will now be a fan of the Henderson/Allen Emuverse and be asking for more.

Jazz Emu is one of those producers that seems to raise the bar each and every time they release something, and Ego Death is a phenomenal work to crown those gone before.
I've only been aware of Jazz Emu for a year or so - like many I guess from YouTube or the 8 out of 10 cats cameo, but there's much more in this visual album to his previous work. Sure, he's still writing and singing about things that - given a thousand guesses - you're unlikely to have conceived, but here, Jazz Emu and the creative team working with him have been able to show what more they can do. And more it definitely is: more musical repertoire, more inspired narrative, more succulent visuals and more - well, I'm not really sure how to define it.
Watch it, and watch it all, and let's hope that there's still some more surprises left to come from the gifted Jazz Emu.
