I really did want to like this. I love cooking shows and getting ideas. And while there are some recipes here that are interesting and some interesting ideas, it doesn't feel real. I know others have said this, but it's the truth. It all feels so staged. But not staged for the cooking, staged to make Meghan look like an amazing kind person. I can tell you that I watched several episodes and I kept falling asleep on it lol if you're a huge fan of hers, it's light entertainment. If you're not a fan of hers? You won't enjoy it at all. If you're on the fence, it's mindless, won't hurt you to watch it, won't hurt you to miss it.
I gave this 2 stars and this is primarily for the stylist who has made things look pretty. Other than that this is the biggest waste of time. I can't work out what it's all about? Meghan is not a chef and the recipes are very basic and obvious- she taught me nothing I don't already know- we all know how to make Jam! . She clearly has no idea about Bees and looked terrified when one came near and even had a 'bee man' ( who has a bee man!!?!?!). The whole things was incredibly contrived and fake with constant faux laughing. It just feels very try hard and embarrassing and she doesn't even seem comfortable. The whole 'don't you know I'm a Sussex' was very snotty and bizarre given her determination to slag off all things Royal- yet you must refer to her as the Duchess of Sussex? It just felt uncomfortable and inauthentic and like a very long advertorial for a random collection of very basic things you can buy in any grocer.

I know a lot of people have disliked alot of things about this show, but one thing about the details, I noticed which is super disturbing. She does something, and then it is fixed all of a sudden, the editing so bad to hide the behind the camera fixes. One example is the balloon arch. Another one us the flower vase ! Pathetic, so fake, cold, disturbing.
I would definitely watch ot if you want to cringe together with your partner with a glass of wine, that should be fun. Otherwise this show has no real purpose on the planet. I hope if mankind goes extinct, ever, future people can find everything about our race but this show. This would reflect too badly on us.

Meghan feels inauthentic and it's if as she has to think about everything she says and does and about how she is portrayed. The fact that they didn't shot at her real mansion says a lot already. It's basically just a filming set with actress Meghan. No matter what she does you can see her acting and wants to be liked so much by the public. Wouldn't recommend anyone watching this show. The fact that she gets millions of dollars and it's just a show where someone is acting to promote her business and a bad production makes this not worth your time! I want to see her family and not some random figures on a set.

I'd this show had been made back in the 1980's I could forgive it, the days of dinner parts, vol au vents and folded table napkins, but in 2025, it just totally misses the mark.
It's a lifeless, boring series, Meghan adds nothing, there's no sparkle, it's all so lifeless, so superficial, everything is obviously done just for the cameras.
I'm not sure who the target audience is for this, I've asked so many people, and they've all avoided it like the plague.
When you think of all the themes she could have gone with, I found this such a bizarre choice, I just don't get it. There's nothing new to learn here.
I just don't feel that she's in touch with reality, look at the clothes she's in a kitchen that most people can only dream of, is the purpose to offer money saving tips?
The project is Ill judged and poorly timed, honestly this was appalling.
1/10.

In spite of good production value and camera work, It's too pretentious and too blah. There are barely any recipes. Some tips or ideas are so basic that I learnt in elementary school in India in SUPW class. No tip is revolutionary.
Though out, it seems like Heroine is acting instead of being natural and that the show is scripted. And the problem is her acting is particularly bad and script is boring. You can tell guests are fed lines to say and are basically leading to her praises
Now the main problem is the heroine of the show comes across condescending, passive aggressive and cold to most people. There were quite a few opportunities of humor but she missed taking advantage of those as seems like she lacks in natural sense of humor and has no idea of self-deprecation.
So overall it was very boring. Honestly I should have instead watched some cat videos with my kitten and pup. Comes across as a dishonest attempt.

I tried, I really did, just too much faffing about no cooking, no recipe's and flowers sprinkled on everything and things being taken out of one plastic bag and put into another. There was a lot of edit cuts back-and-forth which made things quite confusing and it seemed like all but about two of her guests, were only there to heap sickly sweet praise upon her paltry efforts and big her up in general. There were some dramatic moments when things seemed to be just about to go wrong between her and her guests which I found very uncomfortable and on the whole the series just seemed so out of date, behind the times with nothing new to bring to the table and so terribly boring, I actually fell asleep on episode four and later skipped straight to 8 where it just seemed it had got even worse, at which point I gave up - sorry can't recommend it for anything except being a terrible waste of time but useful if you're suffering from insomnia.
This show was so cozy, homely, and inspiring to watch. From her full fledge garden full of home grown organic fresh food, to the healthy and hardy meals, to the friends and family brought on the show, to her feeding the crew members while they're filming her, it was just lovely to watch. I binged all episodes in one sitting. The overwhelming negative reviews are clearly from people who love to dislike her for no reason and want to watch her fall. Watch it for yourself and you'll see that it was a beautifully executed show with quality cooking and a genuine feel. Great show. Hopefully there is a season 2!

I can see the trolls have already landed, and agree with the BBC's segment yesterday that said if you like Meghan you will enjoy this but ... if you are hater/troll then this will raise your ire.
It is beautifully presented, the scenary is breathtaking and she shares with us her love of friendship, gardening, cooking and entertaining. The candles and bathsalts inspired me to get creative, something I have not done for years. Later I might dig out the cross-stitch and start creating christmas cards!!
But I digress, I have watched 2 episodes so far (I actually wanted to binge) but I want to savour each one. Meghan shares her absolute joy of caring and sharing. I love that she has her close friends around to share this, it is her joy at being able share that shines through. This is the genuine Meghan, this is the daughter that Doria raised and the woman that Harry married.

This show lacked depth and authenticity. Not sure who gave the green light for this but it certainly gave her critics more to dislike about her. I was hoping for a more down to earth version of the duchess instead she came off as unauthentic, cold, and uninteresting. The "You know I am a Sussex" remark was cringe. Too bad because I was looking forward to this and could only watch two episodes. I guess I'll have it on as background noise. Maybe try again with more warmth and depth. Even if they shot it in her real home, they don't have to show the entire house. Having it someplace else is just weird.

It's unfortunate that Meghan Markle's partnership with Netflix has produced such an abysmal, pretentious program under the guise of an eight-part lifestyle series. Much of the challenge comes from the contrived persona the producers are trying to formulate in presenting Meghan as a down-to-earth young wife and mother when we know she has been surrounded by royal entitlement and social privilege. That's why it's less than convincing to see her doling out culinary advice and helpful homemaking hints like a SoCal version of Fixer Upper's Joanna Gaines but on Ina Garten's inflated Hamptons-level budget, all without having the credentials of either. From the episodes I viewed, she entertains a predisposed guest, bowls the person over with her renaissance interests (beekeeping and candle-making in the first episode), culinary mastery, and disarming, one-of-us charm. It all comes across as disingenuous as if she's hawking a personal brand of her own invention.
As someone who genuinely went in with an open mind, I was hoping Meghan Markle's cooking show would surprise me-maybe bring something fresh, personal, or at the very least, entertaining. Unfortunately, what we got was the exact opposite.
The show feels like it's trying way too hard to be something it's not. Everything is overly polished, from the pristine countertops to the forced conversations and carefully curated moments that seem more concerned with aesthetics than actual substance. Cooking, at its best, is messy, emotional, cultural-it tells a story. But here, there's no soul, no warmth, and certainly no authenticity.
What could have been a great opportunity for Meghan to connect with audiences on a human level is lost in an overproduced, under-seasoned spectacle that's more about brand image than genuine storytelling. The recipes themselves? Nothing inspiring or new. The pacing? Glacial. And the energy? About as lively as day-old toast.
I really, truly tried to like it. But by the end, I felt more tired than inspired.
If you're looking for a feel-good cooking show with personality and flavor, keep looking. This one's all frosting, no cake.

Not one thing in any of her shows was original or groundbreaking. What is wrong with Netflix throwing money at this garbage. I can't imagine what could possibly be worthy to fill up 8 more episodes. Tacos? Hamburgers on the grill? How about pizza! My family made pasta in one pot back in the 1970's before Martha Stewart.
I will watch the next load of episodes just for comedy relief! I hope she finds some interesting people the next go around because so far nobody including Meghan has a personality. Or at least she didn't allow them to show their personality. The current episodes are just beige!

This is a cookery show mainly, with some Martha Stewart homemaking parts. Five stars for the food shown as some of the recipes did look really good. I agree with other reviewers that much of the content was a little bit ridiculous, in that it focused on nice things to do at home if one had zero responsibilities (putting essence infused hand towels in the fridge or freezer to freshen up).
It's also a little weird how she almost holds herself out to be a professional chef and was telling friends hows to cook- if you compare it to the Chef Show and the humility of the leads in that, this was a little awkward to watch for me. If she did a spin off cook book that would be cool, but overall found her a little exhausting from a showing off perspective, sadly!

I absolutely loved this show. At a time where we have all become crass and heartless, here is a zen space. She is warm, fun and I want to try all she showed. I smiled and was calm and happy. Couldn't have enjoyed it more!!! More like this please. I watch cooking and home shows a lot but this was different. She did old tricks she had learned and then she leaned into crafts and food she wanted to learn to make. A whole new concept of a food and home show. I hadn't followed Megan as much as others, I'm sure, but I find her sweet, smart, determined, happy, fun, and confident. Nothing not to like here folks!!!,
This marvelous show offers a glimpse behind the scenes of preparing for guests. It is clear that Meghan Sussex is a thoughtful host in the way that she creates a home away from home feel for her guests.
There was a mix of quiet luxury and everyday affordable items that we can use to provide memorable experiences for our loved ones. There are cooking tips that parents can use get the kids involved to create a family affair.
Everything is polished and immaculate, with an array of guests, from new friends to tv crew, everyone was included.
It is light and fluffy fare, filled with good energy, good vibes, and good friends. I'm looking forward to Season 2.

I thoroughly enjoyed Meghan's ideas to amuse children, but I wish she could produce some clothes and jewellery shows. Her style is unique and Netflix should make the most of her talent to boost ratings. Megan has a gentle voice and presents herself gracefully on TV. I have spent time watching shows that don't even come close to this. There were so many questions I needed answers for, like where did Meghan buy that top from, what is her favourite lipstick brand. Dear producers please make the most of Meghan's talent and uniqueness to entertain us. I look forward to seeing another reality show with Meghan.

You know how you can't help but look at a car crash as you pass? You don't really want to see it, but you just can't help yourself? Well here, Meghan creates the same effect, but right there on your TV screen. You peer at it through your fingers over your face, while your toes independently curl, while Markle - sorry, Sussex - she makes that very clear to some poor sould dragged on as a guest, gurns away at the camera giving us all sorts of helpful advice from how to make ice cubes to repackaging snacks for overnight guests. Probably a better title might have been With thanks for all the cash Netflix, Meghan. Or more aptly, With sincere apologies, Meghan. But as is pretty clear, sincerity isn't exactly her strong point.

1. I like her and Harry. H & M
2. I have watched thousands of hours of cooking shows and Food Network.
3. I found it upsetting how unattainable her projects really are when it comes to acquiring all the items,( homemade honey, every herb, spice, vegetable, exotic unique vessels to put everything in at one's finger tips, ) and the TIME it would require to complete.
4. Few of us have a sprawling thriving garden and a beekeeper on site and the most high-end chef's kitchen and access to all these little this and thats to make everything so utterly charming.
5. Maybe the show is just for a very wealthy person.

I thought it was beautifully done! There were several things that gave me good ideas on things to try. I thought Meghan was a great host, real and authentic (this world is so full of hate towards her-I don't get it at all). I also thought the staging was good, lots of space to move around so that we the viewers could see things in good lighting and angles. I would light to have had so clues as to where to buy some of the things (I just want to eat dried flowers on everything lol-beautiful). Frankly, post all of the craziness of the world currently, I am glad to have had some positivity! THANK YOU, Meghan and team.

This whole series should have just been an instagram post, there is no interesting content in this show.
Meghan's trying to give tips on how to be a hostess, but she shows us the most basic, commonly done things that everyone already does, while acting like she's invented a rocket ship to Mars. Did you know you can cut fruit and arrange it as a rainbow? Yes of course you did, because we have all seen it done thousands of times before..
She also makes embarrassing, basic mistakes that shows she doesn't know what she is doing. For example, she doesn't hold a knife properly, she actually has her index finger extended and grips just the handle which is dangerous. She then uses the wrong knives for the wrong jobs, for example a meat knife to cut a cake, instead of a cake slice, and a chef's knife to cut fruit instead of a paring knife, but she uses a paring knife to cut kale instead of a chef's knife.
She doesn't tie her hair back, it's literally dangling in the food, and she doesn't even wear an apron in the kitchen.when she has a white outfit on. I saw a clip of her watering a garden. She does this with no nozzle on the hose to mist the water, and does it in the daytime sun so the water will just evaporate.
She clearly doesn't know what she's doing. This is not a person to take any tips and advice from. It really is a waste of everybody's time. It's tedious, vapid nonsense from somebody with a charisma vacuum. It's Meghan trying to project an image of something she isn't.and getting it very wrong. One to miss.
On a side note - why does she always wear beige? Everything about her is beige. Beige clothes, beige house, beige personality., beige ideas, beige TV show. I'll admit the funniest thing I saw was her wearing voluminous beige grandad pants that were belted way too high, right under her bust. She looked like a beige Steve Urkel. I'll be laughing about her beige Urkel pants for a very long time.

I have watched the entire series, it was so nice to see a warm comfortable show, its so nice to see how loving and comfortable this series is. All of her tips were simple yes, so easy to follow yes but things lots of us have never thought of. I highly recommend this show, will definitely watch again, with all of the unrest in the world, its nice to relax with something so wholesome. Her tips for parties, are certainly things I will try in the future. Anyone who wants to watch a joyful easy Show, this is definitely something you should see. Ignore the outside noise, after watching it I now want to throw a party.
