Avis à la une
Spooky, entertaining, well-paced film that belongs amongst the top of the found footage genre! I loved the attention to detail and the fact that scenes were shot on location. There's nothing better than a road trip movie! Halloween in New Orleans has never looked so attractive! I have a tender spot for low budget horror, and if that's your thing, I think you'll really enjoy this one. The set piece with the Voodoo priestess is incredible, claustrophobic and haunting. I want it to become available on streaming so that I can share it far and wide with my horror-loving friends. It has an ending that will haunt you...
The seamless transitions between Milwaukee and New Orleans was great! Hats off to the writers to write something that flows so well from the plot build all the way through to the climax! Similar to Blair Witch, I needed to know what would happen next. I would've loved to ridden along with these two and been a fly on the wall. From an inspiration standpoint it's fantastic to see that a couple kids can make an impactful piece on what I can only assume was a shoestring budget. I feel like I know these people after watching! If you're looking for a good story, well told, not overdone, Poppet is a winner!

- AnecdotesThe 5 trick-or-treaters at the start of the film foreshadow the road trip locations yet to be visited: a pirate (Jean Lafitte) for Isle Grande Terre, Louisiana; a witch (Martha Corey) for Salem, Massachusetts; a gangster (John Dillinger) for the Little Bohemia Lodge in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin; a ghost (Sarah Winchester) for the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California; and a cowboy (Billy the Kid) for Stinking Springs, New Mexico.
