Captivating, focused on current events and eerily in tune with the American condition. What lies beneath the surface of our day to day interactions, this films brings to light. A great watch, but left me with a bad feeling in my gut knowing how much this occurs in our society today. The take on a new age "spin doctors" delves into what happens under the perfect exterior of news information, the grimy, twisted and distorted stories fabricated by backdoor dealing special interest, twists and turns combine to take you on a journey through the various pathways of misinformation and how they collude to paint the perception of the American people.

Outrage is a tight and suspenseful take on the world of media manipulation. We follow Kevin Ipson, a journalist, who goes undercover to expose a master in the art of manipulation, in this case, change the course of presidential history. Each actor in this small ensemble cast holds their own, bringing their own identity and purpose to their roles. You never know who's going to win the cat and mouse game until the very end, which definitely caught me by surprise. Great movie for conspiracy enthusiasts and scary to realize what they do in the movie is probably happening in real life. I think there could be a great sequel follow-up.

The smart script takes the lead character Kevin down a shadowy journey of scandal, speculation, and disinformation as his moral conscience begins to tug at him. A mysterious boss directs the proceedings and his bully henchman helps enforce it on Kevin and Jesse, another gig worker drone caught between their morals and a paycheck. As information and hearsay come in, and are traded by texts and emails, tension builds and paranoia heightens as the characters lose control of the narrative. The sterile, cluttered office space, lit by antiseptic, artificial lights, is the perfect setting for the story's moral shadings and the characters coming to terms with their own boundaries. This movie will leave you thinking about today's media landscape and maybe questioning that next post giving you a visceral reaction.

Outrage is a fast-paced political thriller that doesn't overstay its welcome. The actors are all amazing in their roles, and the story has twists and turns that are all too relevant in the political landscape.

That said, it's not at all a "political" movie - no matter your views, you'll find yourself intrigued. It goes by in a breeze, but is informative and makes you think in ways you wouldn't otherwise consider for this kind of film.

Basically, it's a tense thriller that breezes by, and feels much larger than the sum of its parts. You'll be sucked in watching this, you'll be on the edge of your seat, and you might even be...outraged? (*cringes*)
