A Tale of Love, Betrayal, and Revenge

"Daagi" is an emotional thriller that blends romance, suspense, and drama into a gripping storyline. The film revolves around love, trust, and betrayal, keeping viewers invested in the fate of its characters. Afran Nisho delivers a powerful and emotionally charged performance, making his role deeply compelling. His expressions, particularly in intense moments, elevate the film's emotional impact.

The cinematography and background music are well-crafted, setting the perfect tone for the film. The visuals are aesthetically pleasing, while the soundtrack complements the mood effectively. However, the movie has some shortcomings-slow pacing at times, underdeveloped supporting characters, and predictable twists that take away some of its edge.

Why Watch It?

✔ Afran Nisho's outstanding acting ✔ Engaging story of love and betrayal ✔ Beautiful cinematography and background score ✔ A good blend of emotion and suspense

What It Lacks: ❌ Some scenes feel unnecessarily slow ❌ Side characters could have had more depth ❌ A few predictable moments in the plot

Final Verdict: "Daagi" is a well-made emotional thriller with a strong lead performance and a captivating storyline. While it has its flaws, fans of romantic thrillers will find it worth watching.

Slow paced, yet Intriguing

The low IMDb rating for this film feels undeserved and overly harsh. Yes, the story unfolds at a deliberate pace, but it never strays from its intended tone, maintaining a consistent emotional thread throughout. The primary reason for the underwhelming score seems to be that many viewers prioritize fast-paced action over the deeper emotional resonance this movie offers. However, when you shift your perspective and view the narrative through Nisho's eyes, the raw pain and complexity become impossible to ignore-it's a gut punch that lingers. This film bravely centers on a social stigma rarely explored in Bangladeshi cinema, tackling it with sensitivity and nuance. It's not a movie that spoon-feeds its audience; it demands an open mind and rewards those willing to engage with its quieter, more introspective moments. Nisho's performance is nothing short of a masterclass-subtle yet powerful, carrying the weight of the story with every glance and gesture. The whole team deserves ashout out for the efforts.

Beautiful soudtracks and BGM, btw!

A Masterclass from Nisho

Scars forever stay in the criminal's. It's a story of a criminal to start a new life leaving those scars. It's a story of a redemption. It's a story of finding purpose.

The story wasn't extra-ordinary but well written. Daagi had it own pace from the beginning but lacked depth or reasoning in some parts. Daagi was engaging and realistic from the beginning. Cinematography, screenplay, acting, direction was good. Some scenes were the best part of the movie and those scenes were very emotionally driven.

Nisho was the best thing in the cinema. His acting range, character's potrayal, emotional acting was the best part of the cinema. He is just a gem.

The plot could have been better. But overall a good watch. Lastly, Nisho is the best actor now among others and he has proved that 💯 percently. "The society is cruel yet in Allah's world everything is beautiful."

Awesome Making

A great film is often defined by its screenplay, and Dagi excels in this aspect. The script is well-written, ensuring that every scene has meaning and relevance. The dialogues are impactful, blending natural conversation with profound statements that linger in the audience's mind.

The film also effectively uses silence as a storytelling tool, allowing emotions to be conveyed without the need for excessive dialogue. This adds a layer of depth to the characters and makes their experiences more relatable. The balance between intense, dramatic moments and lighter, heartfelt interactions creates a well-rounded cinematic experience.

A Heartfelt Story Better Suited for OTT

Daagi, led by Afran Nisho, delivers a touching storyline and some solid performances-especially from Nisho himself, who brings depth and sincerity to his role. The emotional core of the film is definitely there, and the story has the potential to resonate with many.

However, despite its strengths, Daagi falls short in terms of overall production quality and cinematic impact. It lacks the visual and technical polish expected from a theatrical release. Watching it in a theatre didn't deliver the experience I was hoping for; it felt more like a made-for-OTT film.

This one would have been much better appreciated on a streaming platform, where its emotional depth could shine without the expectation of a big-screen spectacle.

Best movie of 2025

Nisho's performance as the lead is nothing short of brilliant. Known for his versatility, he delivers a powerhouse portrayal of his character that elevates the entire film. With every scene, Nisho brings intensity and authenticity, making his character come to life in the most mesmerizing way. His nuanced expressions and strong screen presence ensure that Daagi is as much a showcase of his acting prowess as it is a gripping story.

The direction and cinematography further enhance the film's impact, capturing the mood and tone perfectly, while the music complements the narrative, heightening the emotional stakes. The film's pacing is spot-on, never lingering too long in one place, always moving the story forward.

Getting Hatred Because Exposing The Truth?

From start to finish, Daagi is a cinematic experience that leaves a profound impact on the viewer. Afran Nisho delivers one of his finest performances, immersing himself completely in the role of Nishan. His portrayal of a man seeking redemption is both heartbreaking and inspiring, making the audience feel every emotion deeply.

The cinematography beautifully captures the essence of the film's mood, with striking visuals that enhance the storytelling. The rich color palette and atmospheric lighting help to bring out the depth of each scene, making Daagi a visually stunning experience. The film's message about love, loss, and personal redemption is universal, making it relatable for audiences of all backgrounds.

Every technical aspect of Daagi is fine-tuned to perfection-the seamless editing, emotionally charged background score, and well-paced narrative all contribute to making this a remarkable film. The character arcs are fully developed, and the film does an excellent job of exploring the psyche of a man haunted by his past while struggling to carve out a better future.

Despite efforts to bring it down with unfair criticism, Daagi shines as an example of what Bangladeshi cinema can achieve when creativity and passion take center stage. The false negativity surrounding the film is nothing but an attempt to derail its well-earned success. Don't miss it-this is one for the ages.

Well directed movie spoiled by the pace of story

Casting of the movie is outstanding, no doubt about that. Every one was played great at their role. The story was great and unique for the storytelling in the POV of a criminal who got rid from his punishment but the society couldn't accept him. Those phases shown in the movie which are really amazing and emotional. But here is the thing. This makes the movie slow

A bit slow......no, in my opinion the pace of the movie is quiet slow. Sometimes viewer got disconnected from the storyline.

At the ending of the movie, there are quiet amount of twist. Which is great but it also affect the pace of the movie and the finishing of the movie is quiet confusing too. Director should need to work in those fields.

Overall the movie was good. But in my opinion it is a one time watch movie.... If you have time, want to see some unique story, then you can watch this.

Daagi Cinema review

Dagi' is going to be one of the best movies in the history of Bangladeshi cinema. Afran Nisho's extraordinary performance has taken the movie to a unique height. Afran Nisho's character was quite lively.

Also, the performances of other actors were also worth watching. Especially the performances of Tama Mirza, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Sunerah Binte Kamal were quite enjoyable.

'Dagi' produced by director Shihab Shahin was, in a word, extraordinary. We need more content of this kind of movie.

If you want to watch a good quality movie suitable for the current time with your family, then I would especially request you to watch the movie Daagi.

Had expectations but was left disappointed

It's just a regular story with some depth nothing extra ordinary some scenes were boring to watch. I was expecting some twist and turns but was left disappointed and bored. I saw people scrolling through Facebook and nodding off I felt the same way. Many people walked out of the theater before the movie fully ended. I will hope that an actor like Arfan Nisho will be careful next time when choosing to do a film. We have seen this type of story and movies probably many times before this. I had more expectations from the movie to be honest and some parts did honestly feel like it was better suited for OTT rather than a movie.

Hit every single emotional note!

The main strength of the writing is found in its execution of drama and the ability to evoke powerful emotions, which significantly contributes to my overall positive perception of the storytelling. However, I strongly believe the inclusion of the whole "smuggling" angle was unnecessary, serving more as a distraction, a deterrent that detracted from what was otherwise a delightful journey.

Nonetheless, when considering the work as a whole, 'Daagi' is directed with sincerity, acted with competence, and, most importantly, it empathetically portrays the struggles faced by those "rehabilitated" individuals who emerge from incarceration. Despite serving their long sentences, they find themselves far from reclaiming the lives they once knew and cherished.

The harsh reality of our life is that one may perform countless good deeds, and while these contributions may fade from everyone's memory, a single mistake or unintentional misstep can leave a lasting mark. This can haunt not only the individual but also their family, loved ones, and, above all, their own conscience.

Good movie

If you've watched Daagi and enjoyed it, then it must have been a great cinematic experience! The film, starring Afran Nisho, Tama Mirza, and Sunerah Binte Kamal, likely captivated you with its intense storytelling, strong performances, and gripping visuals.

Nisho's transformation into multiple personas must have been a highlight, adding depth to the narrative. The emotional weight of the story, combined with Sajid Sarker's music-especially the title track and Ektukhani Mon-probably made the experience even more immersive.

What stood out the most for you? The performances, the story, or the cinematography?

Daagi (2025) - Movie Review

Daagi truly shines in many ways. From the very beginning, the film grips you with its intensity, thanks to the stellar performances by Afran Nisho, Toma Mirza, Sunerah Binte Kamal, and the entire cast. Each actor brought raw emotion and depth to their roles, making the characters feel incredibly real. Nisho, in particular, was in top form, and Sunerah's performance lingers even after the credits roll.

Director Shihab Shaheen deserves credit for crafting a visually and emotionally compelling first half. The pacing, storytelling, and tension build-up were spot on-an easy 10/10 for me. It had the perfect balance of suspense and character-driven drama, keeping me emotionally engaged throughout.

However, the second half didn't quite live up to the promise of the first. The story lost its tight grip and started to feel a bit scattered and rushed, almost like a hotchpotch of unresolved threads. A more refined script and better transition in the latter half could've elevated the film to another level.

That said, I still found myself emotionally invested. Despite trying not to, I felt deeply moved at several points-proof that the film succeeds in connecting with the audience on a personal level. One of the major highlights for me was the song "Niye Jabe" by Xefer. It's an absolute gem-hauntingly beautiful, perfectly placed, and full of emotion. The music truly adds soul to the film.

In the end, Daagi may not be flawless, but it's brave in its storytelling. As an optimistic viewer, I appreciate such efforts. It's a film that dares to dig deep, take risks, and portray complex human emotions-and for that, it deserves to be seen.

Daagi 🙂

The first thing that came to mind while watching Dagi was that it felt more like an extended drama than a movie. Watching something that resembled a TV drama on the big screen was not a pleasant experience at all.

Starting with the story, it was overloaded with melodrama and excessive emotion, lacking realism or any true cinematic feel. Almost every scene felt like a stretched version of a typical soap opera.

The characters were completely one-dimensional-with no depth or real emotion. It was hard to understand what they were doing and why.

The dialogues were extremely cliché and often irrelevant-sometimes even laughable. The acting wasn't impressive either. Some actors did try, but the weak script and poor direction failed to support them.

The cinematography and editing were also below standard. Some scenes were cut in such a way that it felt like watching a low-budget drama downloaded from YouTube.

And most annoying of all were the unnecessary songs. They had no connection to the story but were forcefully added anyway.

All in all, watching Dagi felt like a waste of time. Anyone who went in expecting a quality film likely came out disappointed.

Review of Daagi (2024) - A Disappointing Thriller

Review of Daagi (2024) - A Disappointing Thriller

Afran Nisho's much-anticipated film Daagi promised an intense thriller but ultimately failed to deliver anything memorable. While the marketing built hype around a gripping storyline, the execution felt sluggish, predictable, and underwhelming.

One of the biggest letdowns was the screenplay. The story had potential, but it was riddled with clichés and forced twists that felt more confusing than thrilling. Instead of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, Daagi dragged through unnecessary subplots and weak character development.

Afran Nisho's performance was another mixed bag. While he has proven his acting skills in dramas, his portrayal in Daagi felt overdone at times and completely flat in others. The emotional depth needed for the character was missing, making it hard to connect with his journey. The supporting cast also struggled, with many performances feeling either exaggerated or lifeless.

The direction and cinematography were also underwhelming. The film tried to create a dark, intense atmosphere, but poor pacing and inconsistent editing killed any tension it built. The action sequences lacked impact, and the background score, instead of enhancing the experience, often felt mismatched and overused.

Overall, Daagi fails to live up to expectations. It's a forgettable thriller that neither excites nor leaves a lasting impression. With a tighter script and better execution, this could have been a strong entry in Afran Nisho's film career, but unfortunately, it falls short in almost every way.

Rating: 2/10.

Oscar wining performance!

I am totally satisfied by watching this movie daagi. Specifically Afran nisho acting was amazing at this movie. It's totally I mean absolutelly worth it.

Everyone should watch that movie I think Daagi is not just a movie; it's an experience that lingers in the heart long after the credits roll. Directed by the visionary Shihab Shaheen, this film brings together an emotionally charged story, breathtaking cinematography, and a stellar performance from none other than the legendary Afran Nisho.

Afran Nisho is a name that resonates with excellence. A true craftsman of emotions, a versatile genius, and an icon of Bangladeshi cinema, he once again proves why he is in a league of his own. His portrayal of Nishan, a man burdened by his past and seeking redemption, is nothing short of phenomenal. Every expression, every pause, and every dialogue he delivers carries weight, making the audience feel deeply connected to his journey.

Alongside him, the talented Tama Mirza shines as Zerin, bringing a refreshing charm to the screen. Their chemistry is beautifully showcased in the mesmerizing song "Ektukhani Mon," sung by Tahsan Khan and Masha Islam-a song that has already become a fan favorite.

With a power-packed supporting cast, including Sunerah Binte Kamal, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, and Mili Bashar, Daagi stands tall as a cinematic gem. The film is produced by SVF, Alpha-i Entertainment Limited, and Chorki, further ensuring top-notch production value.

The cinematography captures every emotion with precision, the background score enhances every moment, and the screenplay grips you till the very end. Daagi is more than just a film; it's a poetic journey of love, loss, and redemption, woven together with the magic of Afran Nisho's brilliance.

Final Verdict: Daagi is not just the best movie of the year-it's a benchmark in Bangladeshi cinema. A film that will be remembered for years to come, thanks to the sheer dedication of a legend like Afran Nisho, If you watch one movie this year, let it be Daagi. This is cinema at its finest.

Average

An unexpected, underwhelming movie. Didn't even meet the expectations. Nisho could've chosen a better script but his performance was top tier, and the rest of the actors performed very well as well. The whole story lacked proper development. The color grading , shots were good, even the bgm was great. The songs were good but sunehra's character was kinda unnecessary in my opinion as it didn't do much. The plot twists were so lame and bad. Expected a much better movie from the actor and the director as both are well known for choosing great stories. As Afran Nisho's second movie after a long break the expectations were very high but it turned out to be worse.

This doesn't fit into any movie category, it's a drama. I personally liked the drug a lot. But in reality he is not a good person.

Whose way of speaking gives off an air of arrogance, which cannot be the characteristic of a good person. Those who have made him work in the movies are very kind-hearted people and their business ideas are well-understood and they make him the hero of the movie. Nisar once had a lot of fan followers because his behavior was so disgusting. He is undoubtedly a good actor but as a person he is disgusting. Good actor but he is zero as a hero His teacher was Humayun Faridi, who is undoubtedly a legendary actor and villain, and Nisho, despite being a good actor, is a villain in real life.

Daagi: The Best of Bangladeshi Cinema, Despite the Haters

Daagi: A Film That Deserves the Spotlight"

There's no denying that Daagi (2025) is one of the best films to come out of Bangladesh in recent years. Directed by Shihab Shaheen, the movie brings together a stunning ensemble cast, with Afran Nisho leading the charge in one of his most intense roles to date. As Nishan, a man torn between the sins of his past and the need for redemption, Nisho delivers an extraordinary performance, showing his remarkable range as an actor.

The film's visuals are just as striking as its performances, with cinematography that perfectly captures the emotional nuances of the story. Each shot feels intentional, with the camera focusing on the subtle expressions of the actors, heightening the film's emotional impact. . The romantic track, filled with tenderness, offers a beautiful contrast to the darker themes of the film.

Ignore the baseless hate and embrace this beautiful and thought-provoking film that offers so much more than what meets the eye.
