A movie worth watching even multiple times
Abishan has been my favourite since his YouTube times but didn't expect this masterpiece from him. Hat's off to his dedication. I am astonished by his thinking and the way he directed this movie. How could a young mind think of an epic film like this. Everyone in this world must watch this. What a mixed of emotions. Never failed in the scenes that made us cry. And the comedy? It made us laugh so hard. The comedy was absolutely hilarious from start. Each joke landed perfectly, At one point, our stomachs literally hurt from laughing so much. We were wiping away tears of joy by the end. It felt like a much-needed break from everyday stress. The emotional scenes were deeply moving and beautifully acted. Some moments were so heartbreaking, we couldn't hold back our tears. As the story unfolded, we could feel the characters' pain. It offered a perfect blend of entertainment and message. Expecting more masterpiece from the director. I was so worried that I haven't seen a good movie from Tamil cinema for a long time. This breaked it! Reach heights Abishan !
The film is about compassion, empathy, and the interconnectedness of living beings (the Dog included).
Writer & Director Abishan Jeevinth bases his film completely on the gospel tenet "Love thy neighbor as thyself" and sets about to prove it admirably.
This tenet is a central teaching in Christianity. It emphasizes treating others with the same kindness, compassion, and respect that one would expect for themselves.
This principle is not limited to close friends or family, but extends to all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances.
It is a clarion call to action, urging believers to demonstrate love through actions and to extend compassion to those in need including those we may not know or even like.
Loving one's neighbor is not just an emotion but should be demonstrated through actions that benefit others.
A man is not a man because he is a man; a man is a man because he is responsible and humane towards other fellow humans and humanity as a whole.
The only problem i have with the film is the issue of illegal immigration as shown.
The family cites hyperinflation in Sri Lanka as their motive for coming to India. They are not refugees!
So it is a problem when nobody reports them to the authorities because they were taking advantage of the loopholes in the Indian system by procuring fake aadhar cards, fake voter cards, mobile phones etc.. and so the entire neighborhood were breaking the Law by supporting them.
Otherwise, yes, the film is well-made, sweet, tender and heart-warming. A rib-tickler with all the core emotions in place which a family movie should have.
Simple and straight to the point.
Dunki (2023, My IMDb rating 2/10) which deals with a similar subject fails on this count.

Watched the Tamil movie Tourist Family featuring Sasikumar, Simran, and Yogi Babu-and I have to say, it was a pleasant surprise.
I went in expecting a light comedy based on the trailer, but the film delivered so much more. It carries a deep message, wrapped gently in humor and everyday life. The story revolves around an ordinary family dealing with relatable, common issues, presented in a very natural, conversational style-whether it's within the family or with neighbors.
The theme is love-not in a romantic or dramatic way, but as an emotion that runs quietly yet powerfully throughout the film. No one talks about it explicitly, but you feel it in every scene. It reminded me of the lingering emotion I had after watching Anbe Sivam-not because the stories are similar, but because of the heartfelt tone that stays with you.
The two boys in the film acted beautifully-wish I knew their names. The cast really holds the film together. Sasikumar is always a joy to watch, Simran was lovely to see on screen again after a long time, and Yogi Babu brings his signature charm and humor that never gets old.
There are chuckles here and there, but what truly stands out is the direction and screenplay-it's warm, grounded, and very real.
Big thanks to my cousin for recommending this one. I loved it!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie. Haven't clutched my stomach laughing so hard at a movie for many years. Haven't had tears rolling down my cheeks in a movie in not just one but multiple scenes in many years. Well done Abishan, you made a perfect film that will be in my top 10 and I will rewatch again and again.
All the characters had depth and a story to tell. Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun and Kamalesh were FANTASTIC. Thet had amazing chemistry as a family and comic timing was spot on.
After seeing mind numbing movies in recent years like kanguva and retro, this was such a refreshing change, hope many more movies with good content and scripting starts getting made.

I laughed and cried. Then laughed and cried again. Over and over.
This film is truly a gem. In today's Tamil cinema, it's rare to come across a story so pure-free of violence and fight scenes-yet so deeply moving.
Abishan Jeevinth has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. It's hard to believe someone so young could create something with such emotional depth and maturity.
Maybe I feel this way because I'm a Sri Lankan Tamil, but this movie genuinely touched my soul. At its core, it's a beautiful reminder that love and kindness always triumph. I hope we get to see more stories like this in the future of Tamil cinema.
