Carrie Underwood: Reflection

Some people build a legacy through their art. Others reveal their true impact through the choices they make. Talent may open doors, but character determines what remains when the spotlight fades.

Don't waste your time on this. Carrie tries to play off the "sweet girl from Oklahoma" act, but she's notorious for being one of the most difficult people to work for in the industry. She got lucky with American Idol and has been riding the hype ever since. Now, she's a full-blown shill for Trump-yet another reason I won't subject myself to her screeching, especially without music to mask it. She's the classic case of someone who insists fame hasn't changed her, but reality says otherwise. Sadly, her music won't define her legacy-her allegiance to wannabe dictators will.

This was definitely not what I expected from a global pop star and a country singer documentary. My expectations were a bit high coming in and it didn't meet any of them... I used to love her and thought her American Idol story was inspiring... this was just a waste of time to watch. Dull, boring, and definitely worth the 1 star review. The producers did an okay job putting it together but it was hard to watch, especially after this last week. I wanted it to be better, but it fell flat. No wonder it is getting lots of negative reviews online. A majority of people feel the same way as I do. Don't bother watching it, it reeks of a spoiled "pick me girl" and musky southern perfume.

From a technical point of view, the music film is quite good. The cinematography, although mostly focused on the performer, cuts also to the audience and sometimes backstage, which I think was crucial in every music documentary of musical film released. Not only was this a grand showcase of Underwood's immense talent and undeniable stage command, it was also a testament to her numerous hits being a part of lives of fans over the years. The editing was also quite good, with no unnecessary scenes being added that maximizes the film runtime. Anyone who is a fan of hers or country music will surely be fascinated.

It really is a low energy disappointing performance with the exception of the finale. As I sit and reflect on this performance I can't help but feel sad and let down from Carrie. The earlier years and performances were amazing so in comparison this was a full let down. The people in the crowd even looked bored and forced to be there. I have bought the boxes with shirts, cd and autographed photo but have since moved them into garage. Can't seem to throw them away due to how costly they were but the admiration is gone. Some people should really leave when they still go the talent and their reputation.

It was so horrible that I don't think she knows how to sing. She was lip-synching the whole time. She needs to take some vocal lessons. Hopefully Hulu never works with her again. I don't think I can handle ever hearing her in concert. Her stage present was OK not the best. I think she needs more experience with containing an audience. Probably one of the most boring concert movie. I wish I can take back the time I wasted watching this. Hopefully Hulu does one with Beyoncé. Her country music is more better than Mrs. Underwoods and that's saying a lot. Also, the songs that she sang were not that good either.
