Stand Off

Everyone likes a good zombie movie but this has to be an exception. I started watching in hopes to be entertained but was immediately stunned to see how poor it was.

I have seen movies with one or two actors who were obviously chosen because of their relationship to the writer/producer/director. This movie goes well beyond that with literally EVERY actor being unable to speak their lines with any emotion. They remind me of my school teachers who spoke in monotone and had the class asleep in the first 10 minutes.

I expected the IMDB rating to be near 1.0, but was stunned to see the higher ratings, some as high as 10. This is just more proof that the people associated with this movie had their friends stack the ratings.

Seriously, only watch this if you want to see possibly the worst acting in any movie. Watch Plan 9 From Outer Space. Even that poor acting is better than anything in this movie.

There was obviously NO casting director used in this movie. The actors must all be friends and neighbors of those in charge.

I have relied on IMDb for ages, but it seems like the ratings are all over the place now. 7.3 for this movie? It looks and sounds like a very low budget film, the acting is poor, the plot is run-of-the-mill, and the gratuitous swearing and gore is banal. Of course a zombie movie is going to have violence, etc, but it should also have some use of intelligence in outwitting the zombies. Hiding, making forts, finding food & water, running, changing direction, etc, etc. Is all part of a good zombie adventure. And put some thought into what caused the "infection" in the first place so that a way is paved for hope of a cure. If there's no hope then all we're watching is a scene before the world ends and what fun is that? I want to see zombie movies where the living win in the end.
