The escape of "Jeanne Dielman" from "Inland Empire". I can't feel or agree with the promotional texts that claim this film is about feminism; if the film is really about feminism, it doesn't seem to have succeeded in doing so.
Setting advertising aside, this film is characterised by experimental montages, both of images and of sound and image. Furthermore, unlike many experimental works that are plotless, this film is steered by a vague plot like that of Inland Empire. As a result, even though the film is not that comprehensible to me, it is still very appetising and suspenseful.
The funny thing is that some of the scenes in this film, which were shot in parks, show the strange morning exercises that were popular in China in the 1980s and 1990s; I don't understand the point of bringing them over here. The internal energy inspiration, as well as the crawling, these exercises create a certain unease and horror, like that in Inland Empire.
