Florent is a spoiled Parisian boy – but charming. One day he encounters a lost American girl in the shape of Alessia. They are both at a cross roads in their lives and something about each of them draws them closer to one another – a real moth and flame encounter.

They then do a sort of road trip with what I felt was an uncanny and instant trust of each other – but they all have secrets and as the hormones rise and the drink flows these secrets lose their cache by being told. Such alliances born of serendipity can also fall at a whim too and the ups and downs are charted very well. The story is told in slow reveal flash backs which is a nice touch.

Now I was not sure if I like this or not, it is well acted and filmed and it ticks so many boxes – it is mostly in English though and Alessia seems to have very little French but there is some. The story is all well and good but I just saw it at first as hedonistic, self absorbance and so found it hard to connect. That said it is a giver of a film and so very much worth bearing with.

Happy, starts as a instant connect between two individuals, Alessia- The American girl capturing the streets of Paris with her Nikon and Florent, the Parisian boy who gets her attention as the subject. The random encounter turns into a stay-in for the summer, followed by a road-trip, bonding with Florent's friend Marion and the bar waiter Thomas, an Australian.They connected quick and explored themselves through travel, communication and sexuality. With different perceptions on love, war and being happy they disperse to continue with their lives. Happiness is displayed as relative, 'in the moment' and eventually lost, only to recollect those moments that comforted at that point of time.

Do watch Before Sunrise (all the trio), if you haven't seen it yet.

Movie has no strong story , its just about 2 random people meet randomly and start to living together. but they both dont know about each other , and difference between views , culture n stuff.

OR could say , movie about 2 STRAY DOGS meet one day (together), had fun and then keep searching something in life ALONE.

OR / ALSO , movie about . if you are good looking girl , and wanna have vacation at EU or foreign country , hook up with rich kid and enjoy as much you can. and then bye bye.

If postcards could be a movie, this would be it.

From the actors: Blank stares, talking in slow motion, talking in generic terms, smiling for no reason, holding hands for no reason, patronising glances, looking at the ground.

From the cinematographer/director: Ultra zoomed in to blank faces, sunsets, holding hands. People kissing for no reason (not in love). No direction. No accomplishments or action. Hiding everything in the bedroom, but also getting in everyone's faces.

What ever reason you think there is to watch it - maybe there's some happy people or a threesome - that's not this.
