I was going to rate this a 7 but am dropping it one because Netflix did not include the last two episodes, 52 being the finale. You can see it on Youtube, but since I don't know Turkish I can look at the images and just guess at exactly how it went down. There is one character that I can't account for, and that is irritating.
This is the most time that I have ever spent on a mobster film. I don't like violence, but then this is the Mafia and there it is. People drop dead like swatted flies.
The acting is excellent. The characters are well developed and believable. The bachelor pad is fun to watch and the silly banter lifts the show up from the violence and makes it watchable. Love the actors.
There are two love stories that twist around throughout the series. Now I know which one worked out, but I can only guess at what happened to the other one.
The plot is complicated. At first I really enjoyed it, but for me it went on too long. The whole show could have been ended around episode 30 or 35. It seemed that they had a lot of capers that had nothing to do with the main plot. Of course I'm saying that because I couldn't see the last two episodes...

This has been terrific fun to watch - quite addictive. Likeable characters, the violence is ample but not gory, the characters are generally more than one dimensional (except a few of the villains who are 'pure evil'), a bit of Robin Hood and his Merry Men meet the Godfather in Turkey.
However, you will be left hanging if you are watching on Netflix. It is really frustrating that Netflix has 50 episodes - but not the final two. I personally hate being left hanging in this situation.
I'd rate it higher if I could have finished it.

Apparently there are 52 1 hour 40 minute episodes in the original Season 1 but Netflix only provides 50 40 minute episodes so more than half is missing. The Netflix series ends with several ongoing story lines unresolved. After investing so many hours binge watching this, I'm very disappointed not to be able to watch the entire series. I encourage everyone to complain to Netflix. That just wasn't right for them to do that.
This is an excellent crime drama. The actors are wonderful, easily sucking you into their tragic, violent, and sometimes humourous world. Big problem if you don't speak turkish however!! Netflix episodes are 50 min approx, but the shows are actually 100 minutes each...Netflix has less than half the show available. 25 out of 52 episodes. What a shame! I am dying to know what happens next and may need to learn Turkish to find out...tempting!
Much better than the present rating of 6.7. Caught this on Netflix and was struck initially by the similarity to Cronenberg's History of Violence. I say initially because after a few episodes it veers off into more than a revenge story. The fugitive has more reason than just revenge for the assault on his family as the story evolves. Without giving away too much of the plot let's just say that the object of his revenge, a criminal family in Istanbul is not completely without merit and deserves some sympathy in spite of their misdeeds. Give it a try if you have the stamina for 30 or so episodes.
