As my expectations of modern adult films continue to adjust, I am at least becoming familiar with what the major labels have to offer. For Dorcel, you have attractive women in sexy lingerie combined with an atmosphere of decadence and luxury. Occasionally, there have been minor incursions into BDSM and kink, such as here. The premise is that Shalina Devine is a psychologist/therapist named Megane by day, while at night she becomes Shalina, in search of some pleasure through which she can slough off the boredom (and responsibility) of her day job. Herve Bodilis and company came tantalizingly close to actually saying something about the personae that people wear and the use of sex/sexuality as an avenue for self-expression and exploration. Perhaps if probed too far, they might have to acknowledge that, used in such a way, sex can become like any other drug, where deeper and darker paths must be taken to achieve the same high as last time. But this is supposed to be fun, frivolous, and arousing, so it is left mostly surface, like so much of Dorcel's other product. Which is fine. All five of the sex scenes here were top-notch in terms of the action and the way they were captured. And for once, the editing did the film a service by not having everything play out in near-real-time, meaning that the whole thing came in at a little over 90 minutes. Not bad at all. And Shalina Devine was another great find for me, a milf I can add to the growing list of performers that I'll watch most anything they're in.
