Avis à la une
A tier 2 whodunit about a serial killer starring Vijay Anthony. Starts off well but midway becomes quite predictable. Casting was OK, Script could have been stronger. Minor misses here and there spoil the plot. Arivu angle keeps the movie afloat, but midway here as well the script faltered.

Tamil cinema has delivered some unforgettable crime thrillers in recent times, but Maargan confidently earns its place among the best. With a sharp, fast-paced screenplay and taut direction, Maargan doesn't just tell a story it pulls you right into its dark, twisted world, leaving you tense, curious, and deeply engaged from the opening frame to the very last scene.
The cinematography is moody and atmospheric, complementing the dark tones of the narrative. Urban backdrops, nighttime chases, and dimly lit interiors are used to great effect, immersing us in the underworld it portrays. The background score is minimal but effective used more to elevate key moments than to dominate them, which works beautifully in a thriller like this.
This film is not just a must-watch it's a reminder of how powerful our regional storytelling can be when executed with clarity and conviction.

We took the girl students from the tribal villages of poolur Malai and Palamalai Malai to watch this movie yesterday at the Palani Revathi Theatre. None of these students had ever been to a theatre in their life. And for their very first movie, it turned out to be a truly special one.
The message at the end of the film left a deep impression on the minds of my students. For children who have lived their lives feeling like they had no one, this movie gave them hope.
Vijay Antony Anna's performance was on par with Hollywood standards. Most notably, the background music was outstanding. Some of the VFX scenes felt a bit like a fantasy movie, but even those were enjoyable. From the beginning to the end of the film, all of us sat in complete silence - that's how deeply we were immersed in the movie.

"Maargan" (2025) presents an intriguing concept with potential for a gripping narrative, yet it ultimately struggles to fully coalesce into a consistently engaging cinematic experience. While the film offers some compelling elements, there's an underlying disconnect that prevents it from truly resonating.
The film introduces a premise that feels fresh and potentially thought-provoking, hinting at deeper themes or an unconventional plot. It draws the viewer in with its initial setup, suggesting a story that could challenge expectations or offer a unique perspective.
However, as the narrative unfolds, something doesn't quite feel right. The execution seems to miss a beat, leading to moments where the story doesn't fully land its intended impact. This could be due to uneven pacing, character motivations that aren't fully clear, or a screenplay that loses its grip on its promising core idea. The lack of a cohesive flow or consistent tension can make it difficult for the audience to stay fully immersed.
While "Maargan" might feature strong performances or commendable technical aspects in certain areas, these strengths are not consistently leveraged to overcome the narrative's shortcomings. It's a film that leaves the viewer with a sense of unfulfilled potential, hinting at a better movie that might have been.
Overall, "Maargan" (2025) is a watchable film that introduces an interesting idea. However, its inability to fully capitalize on its premise and maintain consistent engagement prevents it from being a truly memorable or impactful cinematic endeavor.

Vijay Antony playing in 'Dhruv' character is really nice to see. I liked the make over used in the movie for the cast and screenplay was too good. The concept used in this movie to create thrilling experience is really awesome to see. This is different from usual movies. The 'Tamilarivu' character definition and acting was too good to see and the way he helped in unravelling the case was interesting to see.
I liked second half more than the first half because nothing much happened in the first half and second half moved real faster which is needed for a thriller movie to keep the audience engaging. I liked the way the movie ended leaving us with a strong message.
Overall, a unique kind of thrilling experience to witness in this movie.
