- awful audio thats was sudden on or off no fade whatsoever - no plot/all over the place - very confusing - first scene actress nothing to do with the rest of the film - ending poorly explained - no build up or even time to relate to characters - why did everyone had to kneel all the time - theme was a poor attempt at a copy of Friday the 13th
Overall: a slap dash attempt of a horror film and i feel sorry for the actors and actresses who actually starred in this film apart from the lead actress who was about as convincing as a bag of salmon.
and if they are going to make a werewolf film make sure it looks like one and not like a bat costume. it makes me feel like they couldn't afford a wolf costume because they blew the budget on the renting the location.
anyway don't watch it get something better like Friday the 13th and let this monstrosity of a film collect dust in a bargin bin for all time.

I would really love to know why Bizarre Magazine hire a 12 years old to write film reviews. The plot is wafer thin, there is no coherence, the acting is poor, aside from the lead actress who makes a valiant effort to recover this flop, and the hillbilly maniac who was OK. It started shakily, but passable, I thought it would roll along as a half decent movie at best, and then it descended into the mire. It was boring, lazily filmed, the plot, if there was one, was formulated over a can of Stella, badly made, without being bad enough to make culy status. Useless, it will be 50 pence at the music exchanges within oooh seconds.

A young recovering alcoholic called Emma goes to her creepy uncle's lakeside cabin in the Arkansas wilderness for some solitude but the Moon is full and a silly looking werewolf lurks outside.
This is an incredibly bleak and poor film, it makes the worst of the Howling movies look great by comparison! It is dull, has some bad acting (the attractive actress who plays Emma is pretty decent, and it also features cult star Bill Oberst jnr), has some incredibly annoying and amateur sounding music (a very poor attempt at imitating John Carpenter), plus a ridiculous looking werwolf that is more laughable than scary. Plenty of potholes, e.g Emma's uncle is stinking drunk one minute, the next he shows miraculous sobering up powers. There are a couple of nods to An American Werewolf and The Howling, but these are classic horror movies, this is the complete opposite. One of these sees a sexy redheaded get naked and give herself to the actor in the hairy suit and silly mask. If you do make it through the thankfully rather modest 75 minutes there is a post credits scene, but it's hardly worth bothering with.
Very poor

A werewolf movie, that is essentially all that is needed to draw my attention. And it was all that I needed to know when I found "Werewolf Rising" and picked it up to bring it home to watch.
It turned out that "Werewolf Rising" wasn't a particularly thrilling or enjoyable addition to the werewolf subgenre within the horror category. Why? Well, the movie was just lacking a proper script and storyline. And the fact that the storyline that was there was so simplistic that even a dead person could keep up to pace with the movie hardly helped it in any positive manner.
Director and writer BC Furtney hardly managed to put together a memorable or even enjoyable movie here. Still, I managed to endure this ordeal to the bitter end. But I must admit that I had my mobile phone in my hand and were perusing the social media frequently throughout the course of "Werewolf Rising", and I wasn't missing out on anything vital in the movie while doing that.
The special effects in the movie were subpar of mediocre, and that is giving them way too much credit actually. The werewolf looked like it had been ripped out of a 1980s horror movie, and it looked more like a werebat than it looked like a werewolf. That was just atrocious to bear witness to.
And the movie wasn't exactly loaded with grand movie stars. I have never heard of Melissa Carnell before, and I doubt that after "Werewolf Rising" hers is a name that I will bump into frequently and say "wasn't that the girl from that werewolf movie?" Now, I am familiar with Bill Oberst Jr. from movies produced by The Asylum - yeah, hardly a great track record. While I can't claim to enjoy his acting performances, I have to admit that it was just atrocious in this movie.
If you enjoy werewolf movies, then do yourself a solid and stay well clear of the 2014 "Werewolf Rising", because it is simply not worth the time, effort or money you'll waste on it.

Another movie that is strictly made to maximize profit. The actors are awful and obvious addicts. There is no scenery expenses, no actor expenses, just 3 basic people in the whole movie and not all at once.

We love werewolf movies so we do have a high standard, however going into this we knew this film wasn't going to have the best effects. It gets one star for having actual prosthetics and masks, even if the werewolf mask looks some kind of hybrid wolf/bat thing. And that's about the only good in the whole movie.
The cinematography is terrible. The dialog is terrible. The acting is terrible (though the lead actress does the best of the bunch, she needs more directing). The writing/plot is terrible. You'll find yourself saying "huh?" sooo many times. The end made little to no sense. It's full of continuity errors. The audio stinks. Maybe their goal was canon fodder for MST3K?
Save yourself some time and watch some other independent films. We just saw "Beyond the Gates" and it was Oscar worthy compared to this junk.

I felt compelled to write a review seeing as how no one has provided a good one for this terrible B-Movie. Yes, it's terrible! So why am I giving it a good review? Because this is one of those B movies you can actually watch, laugh at, and be entertained. I believe if you go into a movie like this with the mindset of it's going to be awful, you can actually enjoy it. I think there was something compelling about the main actress who pours her heart into this role and actually does a great job contrasting against her counterparts which were just terrible and couldn't act at all. the werewolf was as goofy looking at they come and it made for a fun watch. I will end with this, if you liked Bunnyman you will probably like this. Don't get me wrong, Bunnyman is one of my favorite terrible B movies and this movie doesn't come close to that but it's essentially the same concept. Bad movie = Entertainment.
If you are a good B movie fan, I do not have any complaints on this movie. The film is done in nice fashion - good camera focus, characters etc... Do not expect many things in this movie as this not a high budgeted Hollywood movie. The director has really done a great job for this movie and no complaints. The title of the movie puts your expectation very high but remember this is a 'B' movie fashion. I am surprised to see hot the movie makers managed in little budget. Last but not least - Don't forget to miss beautiful actress Irena Murphy full frontal nude scene (she has done for the first time).. I rate '7'for Irena's scene :)
