I loved the show, but Tituss made it almost too bad to watch. His antics were too over the top and detrimental to the show. Just look at Alex' facial expressions.... she knew. I would hope that any further seasons would not be so stupid. He made it almost comedic, which is NOT a thing I want to see on a cooking show. He needs to do better. He may be a comedian, but cooking competitions are serious business and not a place to be an over-the-top comedic arena. Take that other places. It does not belong here. Once again, PLEASE be better in the next season, IF there is one. Just my 2cents on this ... I know I am not the majority.
I find most Food Network shows to be insufferable these days, but I liked this one. It felt SLIGHTLY more relaxed in pace, and the theme was a fun change (slightly spooky vibes/setup without being gross Halloween food - no fake eyeballs here!) I especially liked the idea that the chefs had to come prepared for versatility, and use it up, make it do, or do without - it was interesting to me to see how they repurposed ingredients or substituted others. (I am a home chef who spends way too much money on single-use ingredients and can't figure out ways to use them up!) I also felt the contestants and judges and host were slightly more supportive of each other than a lot of competition cooking shows. Finally, I really enjoyed Tituss on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and enjoyed seeing his semi-subtle shtick here. I would say the spooky vibe is suitable for around ages 6 and up, particularly for kids who enjoy cooking.

Tituss absolutely KILLS IT as host!! I was sorry I found this after spooky season but so glad I found it at all. Tituss is absolutely hilarious and adorable as the host. I love the unique twists to a cooking competition and greatly appreciate the smaller group of chefs. This is an absolute must watch. There had better be 20 more seasons to come as well but only if Tituss hosts them all! I wish the keys had been explained at the beginning of the show though. I had to do some internet sleuthing to figure out what they meant and that was a little annoying. I wish there were more episodes also but understand and simultaneously appreciate the short season.
I actually loved the idea behind the show. I loved being able to see what the chefs would come up with as their ingredients dwindled. I also loved that they had to cook multiple times in a day, even when they were exhausted. I think that showed true skill.
I HATED Titus as the host. I loved him in Kimmi Schmidt, but this was not it for me. He was so unnecessarily extra, and coming from someone that is extra herself, it was way too much. I get trying to make the show quirky, but he was just incredibly annoying.
If they got rid of him, I would definitely watch every season of this show. He just ruins it for me.

I put off watching this show because it seemed weird. But one day when watching Chopped, (which I love more than all other cooking competitions) I didn't feel like changing the channel to find something else. I watched & was surprised. It's not the typical cooking show. Don't expect to get any tips or learn anything. It's really a Comedy meets Cooking show.........It's QUIRKY. Titus Burgess steals the show. I don't think I've ever watched anything with him in it but now I find something. And they did a smart move putting after Chopped. T he Episode I watched had Andrew Zimmern as a guest, I love him.
