Avis à la une
I truly cannot emphasize enough on how much this show disappointed me!
I got so excited by the first episode. And even through half of second episode. But after that, it became a magnificent free fall!
Usually Korean shows start well but they decline after 7-8 episodes. But the decline happened very soon for this one.
Something that could have been a great serious thriller, became a joke. A childish silly rom com.
The main characters are unbelievable. Their dialogues on the phone are ridiculous and meaningless. Male lead's change of behavior is so drastic and is unbelievable and sometimes annoyingly childish to the audience. You would ask yourselves:" how could someone so smart be so stupid?"
This show has all kinds of twists which you see regularly on Korean shows, but all these twists look and sound comical in this show. They don't affect you the way they should.
They only thing that hooked me was that the leads had a good chemistry(kind of), specially male lead who could show his emotions pretty well.
That is all.

This show hooked me from the beginning. The actors were amazing. I see some gave it a bad rating for the ending but the show as a whole was well done. The ending was rushed but still a great watch. It was a romantic thriller which is exactly what is was supposed to be. Loved the music and the escape. It's not a serious drama but a fun one. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a romance like a romance novel. The characters are beautiful and sexy. The plot is creative and not your typical kdrama which I like. It's not my favorite kdrama but certainly a very entertaining one. It's worth the watch if you are into that genre.
At first, When the Phone Rings grabs your attention. The premise is intriguing, and the way the story unfolds in the beginning makes it hard to look away. The characters have great chemistry, and their interactions feel natural, which adds to the enjoyment. As the plot progresses, it builds up some good expectations, making you curious about how things will turn out.
But that's where the good things end.
The ending of this series is absolutely awful. It's not just bad-it's stupid and completely ridiculous! The way the story wraps up makes no sense, and it feels like the writers didn't even try to give us a satisfying conclusion. It's frustrating because the potential was there, but it's all wasted.
If you're thinking about watching this series, don't bother. Sure, the beginning is interesting, but the ending will leave you angry that you spent your time on it. Trust me, this is one of those shows you'll wish you skipped.
In short: Interesting start, good chemistry, terrible ending. Don't waste your time!

This was one that I had some issues with, but overall I wanted to go the distance. I wasn't as put off by the last episode, & as there are only 12 it was a much more endurable experience.
Wow, how much more can these rich families be dysfunctional? The dark secrets just kept being exposed & I was genuinely surprised by some twists in the plot. The kidnapper/sociopath did a good job at portraying a sense of dread. He did seem to elude the police for far too long.
The ML, Yoo Yeon-seok, & the FL, Chae Soo-bin, had reasonable enough interaction to develop a sense of a relationship. I don't know how his wife was kept secret as he was a well known celebrity who would be easy to follow.
The love triangle really didn't develop with the psychiatrist. The secondary love interests was a bit of an afterthought.
Yes, the bit in Argan at the end was a bit too much, but as in a lot of K dramas there is a period of separation..

I completely agree with cherlockhome's review below.
The drama isn't finished yet, but I'm not willing to watch the last few episodes.
Apart from the idiotic way the female lead was written and the constant loop holes, the drama is 90% cringe fest. It might had been better if the lead actress matched the professional level of the lead actor, but it's still unbearable at times.
All these "passionate" or "sensual" moments they want to pass to the audience are an absolute disaster, as the script is childish and the chemistry between the leads is super forced.
Unfortunately, it's a common theme in KDramas lately, which is an indication they've either lost their sparkle or I've just become too old to relate to the content.
It would help if they stopped making these dramas to showcase the actors' beauty and endorsements and started paying attention to what really matters. The script and acting.
