Dalla fine della seconda guerra mondiale e nel decennio successivo, istriani, fiumani e dalmati italiani emigrarono dalle loro terre di origine. Molti profughi si stabilirono oltre il nuovo confine, altri emigrarono in Europa e decine di migliaia nel resto del mondo. Oltre 600 profughi trovarono sistemazione a Fertilia in Sardegna. Quasi novant'anni dopo una vecchia barca "Klizia", insieme al suo equipaggio comandato dall'ottantaseienne Giulio Marongiu, ripercorre a ritroso questo viaggio e questa è la sua storia.

Rotta 230 - What a story!

Even though I was vaguely familiar with the history of the Istrian, Fiuman, and Dalmatian Italian exiles, "Rotta 230 - A Journey Home" brought to light far more than just the historical facts. It revealed powerful emotions and deeply human stories that make you realize - in a touching, sometimes heartbreaking way - how all migrations share something in common: nostalgia, displacement, and the enduring search for belonging.

The documentary masterfully captures the emotion in the eyes of those interviewed, leaving the viewer with a lingering sense of both sorrow and the desire for justice. And the song during the credits... incredibly moving. It wrapped up everything with a quiet but strong feeling of unity.
