Spain’s Filmax has grabbed international rights to “Every Side of the Bed,” the third installment of the hit musical comedy franchise that first kicked off in 2002.

Packing a production partner punch, “Every Side of the Bed” is a produced by Telecinco Cinema, Weekend Studio, Impala, Lightbox Animation Studios and Todos Los Lados de la Cama Aie, with the participation of Mediaset España, Netflix and Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group.

The original, titled “The Other Side of the Bed” (“El otro lado de la cama”), lit up the Spanish box office to become the highest grossing pic that year.

Season 3’s performance does seem to be a bit of a decline from Season 2. The second season debuted to 180.47M hours viewed, which roughly translates to about 18M views by Netflix’s new measurement standards.

Second place went to the UK crime thriller Dept. Q with 8.9m views, while Sirens took third with 7.9M.

Most of the action took place on the film side of things. Tyler Perry’s psychological thriller Straw soared to No. 1 on the English film list with an impressive 25.3M views.

Antonio Navarro married the love of his life on September 3rd, 2016. It was a magical day, when the two partners swore to be with each other through thick and thin. We saw how Antonio (name changed to Arturo Ferrer Puig in the film) had imagined his entire life with Maje in A Widow’s Game. They moved from their hometown Novelda, Alicante to Valencia, where they had bought a cozy apartment on 14 Calamocha Street, Patraix neighborhood. Antonio always believed that it was the start of a beautiful journey for them. But things changed down the line, or maybe they were always the same way; only Antonio was too trusting to see the reality. In this article, we will try to theorize why Antonio trusted Maje even after he got to know that she had been unfaithful to him, and if he was as controlling and authoritative as Maje made him out to be.

Salvador Rodrigo Lapiedra, also known as Salva, had been a family man when he first met the woman who was going to destroy his entire life. The 46-year-old man and his wife worked as nursing assistants at Hospital Casa de Salud and had a daughter who was in her twenties when Salva started an extramarital affair with his 26-year-old co-worker, Maria “Maje” Jesus Moreno. Maje was 20 years younger than Salva, almost the age of his daughter, yet the lover in him believed that he deserved a second chance in life so he could live it to the fullest. Behind his wife’s back, the two started exchanging romantic letters promising to spend the rest of their lives together. It was obvious that Salva was bewitched by the young girl’s beauty, and her rampant flirtation just made the matter worse. It made Salva believe that Maje “really” loved him, and...

The ending of A Widow’s Game was about Eva and the homicide unit of the National Police nabbing Maje and Salva for the murder of Arturo. On 3rd September 2016, Arturo married Maje, despite knowing that she had cheated on him with Andres. He assumed that Maje wouldn’t cheat on him anymore, but the truth of the matter was that she was involved in extramarital relationships with Andres, Daniel, and lord knows how many more men. When Arturo eventually found out about her sexual escapades, he said that he’d divorce her and throw her out of the apartment. Maje had a bit of a panic attack and had a discussion with Andres about how much she wanted to kill Arturo. During that interaction, she devised a plan to seduce Salva, her colleague at the hospital she worked at who was obsessed with her, and make him do her bidding.

In real life, Maria Jesus Moreno Cento, or Maje, infamously known as the Black Widow of Patraix, maintained her innocence till the very end and testified in court that she never asked her lover and co-worker, Salvador Rodrigo Lapiedra, to kill her husband, Antonio Navarro Cerdan, introduced as Arturo in A Widow’s Game. However, during the investigation, the homicide group had gathered evidence from two different sources that established Maje had been lying all along and was trying to set up her lovers to kill her husband.

Before Salva took the bait and carried out her wishes, Maje had pulled a similar stunt with a young guy named Tomas, introduced as Andres in Netflix’s A Widow’s Game. Both in the film and in real life, Maje had shared a casual relationship with Tomas since May 2016, that is, before her wedding, and she continued seeing him after the couple moved to Valencia.
