Fourever You

Yeah, it feels like this series is the continuation of 2 Moons because of Bas. There are some similarities of North's love story and Wayo's. They're both in love with a med school senior, the senior looked cold on the outside but very warm on the inside, the senior used to be called a player. There's a big difference between Wayo & North's personality, but still, There are too many similarities that this series started to seem like 2 Moons. That is of course if you leave out the other couples. LOL. Yeah, maybe I'm still hung up on Bas not getting his deserving BL couple (his partner in 2 Moons was the biggest douch3b@g in real life).

Well, move on to the real review. Some people are complaining about how Earth was over the top in interpreting his character. But I think that it was a directorial decision. After all, actors don't have the authority to make up their own characteristics. Aside from that problem, I think that most of the actors delivered decent performances.

This series seems to have multiple couples. But only 2 got their closure or even story (Hill Easter & Johan North). Suea & Nao was going like they're gonna have a good ending, but then their story went unfinished, like a damp shirt being hung to dry in the sun but the sky was cloudy. Tonfah & Typhoon seemed to have some sparks in the early episodes, but then their story went nowhere. They even ended up on bad terms. And from the music video, I think that Arthit & Daotok is supposed to be a couple. But in this series, they don't even know each other's existence. All of those unfinished couples made me think that the writer is planning to make season 2. Fingers crossed.

Some performances, particularly those depicting adult characters with childlike behaviors, have been criticized as unconvincing. This inconsistency can detract from the overall viewing experience, making it challenging for audiences to connect with the characters.

It's just low cost and the actors ar not good.

Thai people say super but ist just not good at acting and so on. It doesn't disserve such a big rating, I'm sorry I dropped the series.

I actually tried watching episode one of this series a while back but gave up pretty quickly. It's one of those University BLs with a bunch of characters, and I thought it'd be too much to keep up with. But I ran out of shows to watch, so I came crawling back, lol.

I get that it's a typical University BL, but it felt a bit immature for my taste at first. Still, it's a nice break, especially after watching something super dark. Kinda like a light, fluffy antidote.

What really pulled me in was North and Johan's backstory, it's seriously interesting. I stayed for them, but Ter and Hill's storyline started to grow on me too. I didn't skip their parts since every character's story ties into the main plot, and you'll be lost if you do. Things really start to pick up around episode 4, and honestly, every time Hill looks at Ter, I get butterflies. Their chemistry is insane. 😍 And the jealousy scenes? It adds spice to the story. Also, the bar fight scene had me cracking up. 😂

The whole series is super fluffy, I caught myself smiling through most of it. But I still don't get how Ter hasn't figured out that Hill's into him. Like... they kissed and almost hooked up back in high school! Is he pretending not to know, or is he just that clueless? 😅 There were a few awkward scenes I skipped, but overall, the show pulled through.

The series is a bit too long, and it's frustrating that we barely got any screentime for the other couples (Tonfah & Typhoon and Thit & Dao). They're supposed to be main characters too, and I kept waiting for their stories to unfold. Fingers crossed they get more focus in season 2.

When it comes to chemistry though, every couple delivers. Whoever did the casting deserves a raise. Acting-wise, everyone did a great job, but Bas (North) totally stood out. He's naturally funny and so charming. North and Johan are just meant to be. Their personalities balance each other perfectly, Johan being all cold and distant, then secretly smiling when North isn't looking? Too cute.

Honestly, I regret dropping this series the first time. North and Johan's story had me emotional, and I was so happy when they finally got together after Johan secretly crushing on him for three whole years.

Fourever You will make you laugh, cry, and feel all the warm fuzzies. It actually reminded me of We Are by GMMTV, though that one has a bit more energy.

If a show isn't all that interesting, I will find myself subconsciously counting the absurd amount of table lamps they've used to dress a set. Set designers just LOVE table lamps. I've seen all 16 current episodes of Fourever You and haven't counted lamps once. In fact, I get so caught up with what's going on that I forget I don't speak Thai and I have to rewind to catch up on the subtitles.

Sure, the show isn't without its flaws. I personally am not a fan of the 3 Stooges slapstick side friendships that seem to get shoe-horned in a lot to these types of series. Also the flow seems too drawn out and disjointed in the Ter/Hill storyline. And the subtitles look like they've been written by an AI who is both drunk, and dyslexic. Just as well I'm fluent in reading between the lines. It's such a pity I haven't been able to get my hands on an English language version of the books this is based on...yet.

I loved the friendship dynamics of the four 2nd Year medical students. It actually looked like they were genuinely friends IRL as well as on-screen. I also quite enjoyed the Ter and North friendship. It looked fun. Sure, the actor who plays Easter goes way too far over the top, but you get used to it. But I'm all in for the Johan/North relationship. Bas and Maxky have brilliant chemistry, and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline.

The casting directors sure knew what they were doing when they cast Typhoon. I do know some of what's coming in season 2 and I don't know if my poor heart can take it.

Overall, I didn't find the acting to be poor at all, with the exception of just a couple of minor actor roles. I also pay to watch the longer uncut versions, which seem to be 10 minutes longer than what you get for free on YouTube in the UK. No big deal, just swapped in Studio Wabi Sabi and cancelled Disney+...no great loss.
