Ok, it wasn't that bad... Lyndsey F., did a fine job as the mother going through the gauntlet of emotions. She has been a solid actress since her days on Nikita. It is nice to see her spreading her acting range and playing a more mature character in this film. The problem is the sheer stupidity of the daughter and the boyfriend. The actress playing the daughter is decent, but the script is a bit far fetched. The movie serves as a cautionary tale on multiple levels. Keep an eye on your daughters moms! This is one of those movies you have on in the background while you are busy cleaning the room.

I've watched some Lifetime movies that I have disliked, but none as much as this one. It is truly horrible with the teen daughter being completely reprehensible. The other Lifetime movies are bad in just generally bad ways-characters who are stupid and selfish, same ending over and over, weak men, unlikable protagonists. And constant wine drinking and houses they could never afford for their careers.

But this one? It's bad in seriously morally repugnant ways. The cruelty of what the daughter put her mom and brother through is disgusting. And then to end his sorry excuse of a movie with the lead character trying to justify her actions by saying, "I'm sorry." And " I just wanted to be happy." is outrageous. To put her family through the mental and spiritual agony that loved ones experience when they lose a loved one to crime is inexcusable. That girl definitely should have done prison time or at the bare minimum community service. Mom should not pay back the community for wasting resources, the daughter should bear the full weight of that.

But, you know, she got to be "happy" and her family should just understand. The writers, producers, directors, etc. Should be ashamed of themselves for putting this garbage out there. I kept watching only to see if they ever came to a point of moral redemption. They did not.

IMDB needs to allow for negative stars or zero stars or something that conveys how bad something is. This deserves no stars. Rarely have I disliked a movie this much.

I got really excited with the name and genre of the film involving serial killer and stuff. So i decided to watch it but the whole movie was pretty bland and boring. It was just beating around the bush. Same dialogues same plot repeating over and over and over till you get seriously bored. When you expect that now something thrilling will happen again it's the same old drama.

Really its a total waste of time and lyndsy was wasted in this film. She is a great actress and should be given good roles instead of this crappy film. Also lifetime hyped this film making us believe it would be good. Lifetime doesn't promote good movies at all.

Unpopular opinion: Try watching movies on lifetime that aren't promoted by lifetime. As they are actually good ones.

For example: There's a new killer in town.

So coming back to the girl who wasn't dead. You can totally forget about this film and skip it.

My rating for this movie is 4/10.

Sitting down to watch the 2024 thriller "The Girl Who Wasn't Dead", I must admit that I figured this was going to be an archetypical Lifetime movie. But I still opted to watch the movie, on account of it being a movie that I had never seen, nor actually heard about. So I suppose that director Simone Stock had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.

Writers Yuri Baranovsky and Angela Gulner put together a fair enough script and storyline. This was more than just another abducted girl story, and the fact that the story was more than just that was definitely something that helped keep the movie afloat and set it aside from your standard missing girl movie. I was adequately entertained throughout the course of the 86 minutes that the movie ran for.

I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, which is actually something that I do enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in the movie were good.

While "The Girl Who Wasn't Dead" was a watchable movie, it is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.

My rating of "The Girl Who Wasn't Dead" lands on a five out of ten stars.
