Avis à la une
I was disappointed with this. Madea seemed kinder and softer - remember when Omarosa said this about Wendy Williams. The tv version of Wendy Williams was not as hard and tough as the television version.
There were s couple of funny scenes but this was hardly the 2003 Madea we all knew. I do hope though that people watch. Madea still can be salvaged. Truth be told, Madea needs to be back live on stage. Madea is awesome as an on stage grandmother.
Madea ideas are not over. I can think of a few titles - Madea's half sister. A reboot of the Madea farewell play with some of those characters possibly striking it rich! I just need something challenging.

As a longtime fan of Madea, I came into Madea's Destination Wedding with some hope - but unfortunately, this one just didn't land. The plot is confusing, and the pacing is all over the place. Scenes jump around without much cohesion, and the overall structure feels like a rough first draft rather than a finished movie.
The comedy, which is usually a highlight in Madea films, was surprisingly lackluster. While there are a few funny moments, they're drowned out by how disorganized the movie feels. The humor often falls flat or gets lost in the chaos.
Xavier Smalls' performance, in particular, felt underwhelming and out of place. His character seemed like an afterthought - not well written and barely contributing to the story. Honestly, it felt like he was just there to fill time.
More than anything, this film doesn't feel like a wedding movie. It feels more like Madea, Joe, Cora, and Aunt Bam randomly ended up on vacation with a camera crew following them. There's no real emotional payoff, no meaningful wedding story - just scattered jokes and random subplots.
Not the worst thing I've ever seen, but definitely one of the weaker entries in the Madea franchise. Predictable, unoriginal, and missing the heart and hilarity that made earlier films so enjoyable.

Every scene: Black people talking loudly, saying cliché things that really are not clever. At the hotel, in the airport, in the airplane, in the parking lot,...you name it! Like Sam I Am, in the rain on a train, in a house w/a mouse! Trying to be funny. But are not. Long loud impromptu scenes out of a minstrel show. The scene are so terrible they can only be compared to 3 things:
1. Those ridiculous Spanish shows on Latin TV channels where nothing happens but the same shtick. Some man wearing clown ears keeps looking at an attractive woman's low cut halter top. You ask yourself do Latins really watch this stuff. People get paid real money to make these shows? Really?!
2. Tyler Perry is making minstrel shows. Who needs black face when you hire black actors and direct them to act so utterly stereotypically awful; or 3. All high school teachers know that this kind of loud, unintelligent, rude, crass, attention seeking behavior is what you get from a typical high school class of standard kids. They make the day feel so long. All trying so hard to be funny, rude, loud, cute, and clever. All they make you want to do is jump out of a window.
This movie is SO bad. I challenge anyone to locate just 1 original joke or plot point in this movie.

The ending was the only time I really laughed. Brown made me laugh from time to time. Miss the old Madea movies. There was more substance in the movies. Now they're more stereotypical. Not cool. I liked the Madea witness protection movie. Eugene Levy funny as always. I still watch all of the Madea Movies bec it's something to watch and certain scenes do catch my attention. The banter between Joe and MA-DEA was funny. So I'm supposed to make sure I write a review worthy of 600 words. So I have nothing else to say just finding words to make 600 words. Why 600 words? I like to get to the point then be done.
Twenty years ago madea bust out into cinemas and went number one. You almost have to have grown up around a family like this to understand the humor. The soundtrack and humor were fun.
Today it's been seen and done several times over. This time around the gang is back together for a wedding. Turns out the kids from earlier movies are grown and now the little girl is the one engaged. Along the way there are some dilemmas and crisis that arise that need fixing. It's been said and done and seen before.
Theres nothing new here but I came along for the ride anyway because I grew up on these plays. This is a watchable 2hrs with humor and decent music. Along the way a lesson gets learned too. Not a bad movie just nothing new.

- AnecdotesInstead of using makeup and prosthetics to play Madea and Joe like the previous films, Tyler Perry uses digital technology to remove his beard and change his face while portraying those characters.
- GaffesIn the office when Brian is looking at the computer, and the camera angle changes to the back of his head, that's a stunt double. This same stunt double is on the ground at the end of the movie when he passes out from seeing the bill.
