Avis à la une
I had high hopes for Football Parents-a show that promised to blend comedy and heartfelt moments with the chaotic world of youth sports. Instead, I got a shallow, tone-deaf mess that confuses yelling with humor and clichés with storytelling.
From the first episode, it's clear the writers are leaning hard on tired tropes: the overbearing dad, the clueless mom, the "quirky" coach who's just annoying. Not a single character feels real or worth rooting for. The dialogue is awkward, the jokes land with a thud, and any attempt at emotional depth is smothered by melodrama or eye-roll-worthy life lessons.
Worse, the show seems to have no idea what audience it's trying to reach. It's too immature for adults and too bland for teens. And don't even get me started on the pacing-half the scenes feel like filler, and by episode three, I was checking how much time was left more often than watching.
If you're looking for a show that captures the humor and heart of parenting in sports, look elsewhere. Football Parents is a fumble from start to finish.

Mostly very funny 😄 - lots of laughs, especially if you've ever seen (or been) that overly-excited-sports-parent (or coach).
I had a good time watching it, and heard a lot of laughter while watching with friends!
But there is a little message too: It pokes fun at the way adults sometimes take kids' games a bit too seriously. Behind the humor is a gentle reminder: maybe it's not about winning, coaching from the sidelines, or turning every match into the World Cup. Sometimes it's just about letting kids play, mess up, and enjoy the game - while we try to chill a bit too.
Have a look, enjoy, and next time try to be that supporting(!) parent for your kid ;-)

I watched this series even thought I don't even like football. However, it is very relatable for any parent. It shows us how parents can be childish and spiteful, but also loving and caring towards both their children and other grown ups.
We all know some of these characters, and even if they are somewhat exaggerated, they feel like real people with real issues.
Although the characters are very alike those in Luizenmoeder, the story is different and the interactions are more between the parents than the teachers/trainers.
I really enjoyed Voetbalouders. My kids enjoyed it too. It is a family friendly, comedy with heart. I would certainly watch a second season.

This is a solid comic series. I would love to see it having season 2. It wasn't THAT good in the first half of the show because the audience are still seeing the parents who are annoying and unlikable. Most parents' characters are superficial and single-layered particularly in episode 1 and 2. However, the magic of the show is it brings the audience into the kids' perspective. From the second half of the show, you start to realize the show is not to seriously talk about how football parents parent, but joyfully talk about how football kids are being kids despite the dysfunctional parents. It has a warm and fairytale-like ending. You want to know what will happen to the team next. Also Ilse Warringa contributed incredibly fun screenplay!!
So please do not let haters stop you producing season 2. It is fun to watch! We should be more like kids than parents.

A good comedy based on situations in reality Arent easy to make and this show proofs it. None of the characters are funny or you can have a connection with. Sure you do recognize all the stereotype parents on the sidelines, but here it doesnt work. The characters are too flat. Luckily there are only 6 30 minuten episodes, but it says a lot I havent laughed a single time during these 3 hours. The writer of this series has proven herself in the past, but this time she focussed too much on her own role she was playing, which causes all other actors had no space to do something with their roles. Too bad, since the idea had potential.
