I Am the Secret in Your Heart

I started to watch this movie cause I like this type of films and the story seemed my cup of tea. Though it took about 20 minutes to become interesting and in a movie that's rather long, I think. After that first part I started to like the movie. The friendship between Hsiao-hsia and Yuzu was so great. The way Yuzu loved Hsiao-hsia was heartbreaking beautiful.

The chemistry was so so. I have seen better in Taiwanese movies.

The ending of the movie was really rushed and also unbelievable. I don't wanna spoil, so I can't go in detail.

One extra plus for the song 'Heedless', especially when the band played it.

I found them all very endearing, but I doubt they could get away with so much stuff in school. I know it's ridiculous what they get up to but it was somewhat amusing.

I was on board with most of it, up to the end and the surprise happy ending right at the very end, it felt a little too contrived. The whole thing is completely tropey and we have seen all these plotlines before, but the actors really sold it by making it feel very natural and believable.

However, justice for Yuzu. He deserved more. There's nothing wrong with this boy, apart from his unsightly eating habits. There's a level of self-sacrifice that you never find in reality and not even in the movies really, so he's a whole damn green forest.

Liked the song, but preferred the more rock version, not the one on the end credits.
