However, because the previous Columbo outing, "Ashes to Ashes" (broadcast on October 8, 1998), received such low TV ratings (#52; 7.4 points, 12% share of viewers), this segment was shelved for more than two years and not broadcast until March 12, 2001. When it was finally broadcast, it ranked #24 for the week (8.9 points, 14% share of viewers).
