My husband was ambivalent about the nine pm start, given off late I'd been falling asleep half way through the best of movies if I start watching it after, say 7:30pm! But then it was clear from the very title scenes, it was a wasteful worry: the movie was so fresh and original in its approach and narration of an otherwise everyday family feud that it could have started at 12am and still kept us laughing and well entertained.

I am forced to make a concession to my self-imposed limit to only writing my experience on the movies that I am willing to give an unconditional 10- the movie was such a charmer and its hard to restrain myself having witnessed the essay Vijay wrote with his eyes on restrain- one decibel more in any of the dozens of scenes he expressed Agasaveeran, it would have tipped the movie to mediocracy; likewise one word from Nithya Menon as Vijay signed and handed her the divorce note pouring his hurt and inability, the movie would have crossed to the cliched ending.(how did she line her eyes with red holding her tears back, my God, is that talent?) A must watch!

Thalaivan Thalaivii brings back vintage Vijay Sethupathi in full form-charismatic, emotionally raw, and erratically loveable. Nithya Menen complements him with quiet strength in a film that's loud, messy, and rooted in traditional Tamil storytelling.

Yes, it mocks modern marriages and leans heavily into regressive family ideologies, which some may rightly critique. But as a piece of commercial cinema, it stays engaging throughout. The film doesn't aim to reinvent the wheel-it just wants to spin it fast and furiously.

Forgettable story? Maybe.

Fun execution? Definitely.

Theatrical run? Safe bet.

Thalaivan and Thalaivi is all about hard hitting reality story between husband and wife , which is a slipper shot to all the parents who pamper their child even after marriage. After its their family and no one has to interfere even their parents. Tats a hard message from the movie. Coming yo the story and screenplay, not a bit boring. The screenpaly especially more and mkre engaging and story is an usual one but the screenplay stole the show. A very fun filled entertainer, laughs all around. There is some lag in the middle scenes, but can bear that for a wholesome movie. Good job to the director pandiaraj. Vijay sethupathi and nithya menon omg, what performance, they just nailed the characters of perarasi and agasa veeran was mind blowing. It was quite a performance from the duo. Songs were the real pillar of the movie and the bgm too. SANA real rockstar. Overall a thorough family entertainer, please do watch it available in Amazon prime.

The movie is so loud from beginning to end, mostly everyone is shouting. The starting sequences are setting up each character and directly starts into the core plot.

VJS and Nithya both did their job very well, eventhough this is bit overdosed, i liked it the way they portrayed the weird couple. All the supporting cast helped for the flow and did their job very well. Kali Venkat character justification is nice sentiment touch.

Felt lagging here and there, Yogi Babu saved on those moments. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, I liked it.

After credit scenes are LOL, dont miss it.

A slapstick fun to watch entertainer set on the backdrop of a temple turned out preachy and monotonous.

The director through the story highlights on the minor rifts between couples and how it turns out to be a trauma for the couples, children and the immediate family members when everyone gets dragged into the endless fight.

Pandiraj has conceived a good entertaining story but the way he portrayed it on screen turned out to be too preachy in the initial half. The monotonous activity being done by different characters turned out to be really monotonous for the audience though some subtle humour in between saved the audience from leaving the cinema hall. The second half of the movie was convincing and reflected more on the story plot. The filmmaker has explored on the emotional and mental trauma the couples go through when there is a rift through very beautiful melodious songs.

Splendid performances by Vijay Sethupathi,Nithya playing the power rugged couples and they just spiced up the entire movie through their natural gestures. Good performances from Yogi Babu, Chemban Vinod, Suresh, Thenappan,Kaali Venkat & Ganesan.

Hats off to the music director Santhosh Narayanan for the feel good songs in the movie.

A watchable entertainer that should definitely be attempted by the couples ruling out the flaws.
