Avis à la une
"Bohurupi" is a wholesome Bengali entertainer that skillfully blends drama and suspense, centered on the intense rivalry between a cop and a bank robber. The screenplay, written by Nandita Roy, follows the robber's clever use of disguises, delving into his intricate motivations and the societal pressures that push him toward crime. Abir Chatterjee and Shiboprosad Mukherjee shine in their roles, while Ritabhari Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee enhance the story with their powerful performances, adding emotional resonance. The film's other assets are its album that worked with the masses and also the cinematography that beautifully highlights the richness of Bengali culture. "Bohurupi" serves as a profound examination of identity and morality, leaving a lasting impression.
Family Crime Thriller. No violence. Excellent story and story telling. Engaging and a good finish. Could have been made 10min shorter by cutting down the unnecessary songs. But can't really complain as it was a total Paisa wasul movie.

Bohurupi comes out as a quintessential masala entertainer, masterfully blending emotions, romance, drama, and action in perfect harmony. At its core lies a deeply rooted story set in Bengal, rich with cultural nuances that enhance the narrative. The film follows Bikram, a character wronged by both the system and his family, as he embarks on a series of audacious bank heists, strategically targeting localities under the watchful eye of IC Sumanta Ghoshal. This premise sets the stage for an exhilarating cat-and-mouse chase that unfolds with captivating tension. The acting is commendable across the board, with each performer, including those in smaller roles, contributing significantly to the film's success. Shiboprosad Mukherjee shines, but the ensemble cast elevates the storytelling, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. The film's production values and attention to detail reflect the care and dedication invested in its making. Bohurupi is a refreshing addition to Bengali cinema, offering audiences a well-crafted, entertaining experience that celebrates local culture while delivering thrilling escapism.
Bohurupi is what we can call Bengali Cinema's answer to the Bollywood Masalas and South Extravaganzas, in its truest sense. Yet it never skipped a bit to beat to the tune of the heartbeat of Bengali audience. There lies Bohurupi's real success. Nandita Roy's home-grown story based on a real incident of bank robbery leaves the audience with an edgy afterthought about the system in our society. And I was thoroughly hooked to the screen presence of Shiboprosad Mukherjee. What a knock-out performance he has given to it! Added to it are the earthy tunes and melodies. Koushani and Ritabhari have done a good job as well! And last but not the least, Abir Chatterjee's Sumanta is the perfect foil to Shiboprosad Mukherjee's Bikram. Bohurupi has all the ingredients to be loved by class and mass alike.
Bohurupi emerges as a standout masala entertainer, skillfully weaving together a tapestry of emotions, romance, drama, and action in just the right balance. The performances are stellar, with each actor bringing depth to their roles, including those in supporting positions, who enhance the overall narrative. Shiboprosad Mukherjee shines brightly, but the ensemble cast collectively elevates the film's impact. With its meticulous attention to detail and high production values, Bohurupi is a testament to the rich storytelling tradition of Bengali cinema. It successfully delivers an engaging and entertaining experience, celebrating local culture while keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.
