The script was originally conceived with Don Diamont (Bold and the Beautiful) in mind after the writer saw him accosted on the street by a little old lady for something his character did (Diamont's wife come to his aide, she was on the old ladies side).
When Ronnie Marmo's character on General Hospital was killed off the script was changed to cast Ronnie.
