The wait from week to week for new episodes is so difficult because this drama is so much fun to watch. The main and supporting characters are endearing, there's a lot of comedy, the sets and filming are eye candy, there are healthy ideas about withholding judgment and second chances and having the courage to live the life you want, the female lead feels real and genuine like she could be any of us, and the male lead's voice and facial expressions just draw you in and keep you hooked. The ensemble works well together and has a positive energy that reminds me of the ensemble in CLOY. There are a lot of commonalities actually, so if you liked the interactions between the characters there, you will probably like them here too. Kudos to the directors of My Sweet Mobster for bringing all of that out from the cast.
There are a couple of details that I didn't care for (the kitty villain's character is very off to me, and I didn't like that the female lead actually accepted to clean her colleague's home and especially didn't like the low-self-esteem, ingratiating way she conducted herself in that scene; I could have swallowed it if she had handled herself differently or had cleaned anyone else's home like a normal job instead of allowing herself to be used like that by someone with ungenerous intentions). But overall, this drama has been a very enjoyable watch and keeps us looking forward with much anticipation to each new episode. Yes, it contains lots of tropes and silliness, but in a good way that is entertaining. This drama is addictive and sweet like candy and will give you the same little boost that candy does.

I truly enjoyed watching this drama. Initially, I had low expectations, but it pleasantly surprised me in the best possible way. The show was warm, funny, and incredibly adorable, making it a delightful watch from start to finish. My favorite aspect was the main couple-their chemistry was extraordinary and unique, setting them apart from typical on-screen pairs. They brought so much heart and authenticity to their roles, creating moments that were both touching and hilarious. The way their relationship developed felt natural and engaging, keeping me invested in their story throughout. I will genuinely miss seeing them together on screen, as their dynamic was one of the highlights of the drama. This show exceeded my expectations and left a lasting impression on me.
This show unfortunately is very uneven now that I've finished it. I would say 2/3 of the show is light, heartwarming, sweet which I loved and then there's 1/3 that's just crime, mob stuff, prosecutors and randomly a LOT of interrogation room scenes which I hated lol. That said, the cast was full of great lovable characters from the main leads to the reformed mobsters, I loved it when they got into shenanigans usually related to their job, or their home life. The little community they've built is so cute and they embraced the female lead into their little rat pack very quickly which made me like them even more. I would compare this feeling I'm feeling to when I finished Wedding Impossible or Serendipity's Embrace, I wasn't wowed but I was entertained.

I literally laugh out loud every episode. As mentioned in the comments, it's a light-hearted drama-nothing too serious and sometimes downright ridiculous. But it's one of those feel-good shows that brighten your day. For the past eight weeks, it's been such a joy to watch every Wednesday and Thursday. I enjoyed every minute of My sweet mobster; what an awesome cast, great job Uhm Tae Goo and Han Sunhwa and the Thirsty deer team!. You all did a great job with this. I really hope for a season 2 so I can look forward to more laughs and fun. Some people in the review section need to lighten up, jeez!

Some of you are writing a whole dissertation on this light-hearted rom-com, "My Sweet Mobster." It's not supposed to be a deep, plot-heavy show with intense analysis. Sometimes, it can just be good fun and light, and that's it! We don't always need to go deep, and I believe that's exactly what the producers and directors intended: a fun and light-hearted rom-com.
"My Sweet Mobster" delivers just that. The quirky chemistry between the leads, the unexpected twists, and the charming humor make it a delightful watch. If you're looking for good belly laughs mixed with some fun action and light romance, this is for you. It's a refreshing break from more intense dramas, perfect for unwinding. It ain't for everyone, but if you want to enjoy a feel-good story with a touch of whimsy, give it a try!

It's a romcom with very unusual cast I'd say. Um tae goo being the coolest gangster yet a softie is a delight to watch. The cinematography, story, acting, cast everything is topnotch. A romcom with 80% comedy and 20% romance lol..and ofc if there's um tae goo there will be action. The father-son relationship, childhood connection (not those irritating ones), power conflict all these plot made this drama even more interesting. Every character having thier own story but not dragging it too much was very refreshing. Loved Han Sunhwa's character as well. Her job as a kid's content creator was perfect for her character Eunha. Overall this one's absolutely worth it!!

So enjoyable. From start to finish. The occasional slow mo silly scenes made it more funny. It's genuinely funny and such a great new fresh concept. It represented in a nuached way that ppl can change, regret and go back to being a better version of themselves. Not a single boring ep. Usually kdrama starts to sulk amid ep 11 12 but this one peaked at ep 13! Best ep! The second couple is so sweet as well. During pandemic I watched 100 plus kdramas and wrote reviews but it's been a while that I wrote a review. This splendid drama made me write a review even though it's just gibberish haha. Definitely gonna recommend to everyone in future. Really a hidden gem kdrama of 2024!

Han Sunhwa plays Go Eun-ha who is a struggling child content provider on the internet (We tube) and longs to reunite with a childhood friend who disappeared and she blames herself for this. Uhm Tae-goo plays Seo Ji-hwan the son of a mob boss who betrayed his father and is now trying to run a legal meat packing plant employing ex cons to give them a chance to redeem. Circumstances bring these two together and over time the cold indifferent CEO begins to be attracted to the free spirited entertainer. The story is one of redemption but also has a back story of a jealous gang member who hates him and will take revenge as he is jealous of his success. We have the usual love triangle, quirky sidekicks and a cute second couple but for me it is ok but misses the mark. Too many advert type interruptions and the balance of serious and funny does not work although it has a good cast and some funny and touching moments.

I recently watched "My Sweet Mobster," a fantastic Kdrama blending romance, comedy, and suspense. It beautifully explores themes of friendship, authenticity, second chances, and positivity. Uhm Tae-goo shines as the lead, transforming from an ex-mobster to a man in love with charm and depth. And can we talk about his good looks and husky voice add to his compelling performance. The chemistry between characters, engaging plot twists, and high production quality make this show a must-watch. It's heartwarming and entertaining, leaving viewers with valuable life lessons. Loved every part of it :) .
A contrived plot, too many coincidences, lack of reality, plausibility, and logic (almost fantasy rather than rom-com), a compilation of cliche and easy tropes, sudden change of characters, no continuity or uniformity throughout the series, and especially cheap lines... How can writers still write these kinds of lines in the 2020s? The direction is not that different. Childish and cartoon-like... I get what he's trying to do, but it adds cheesiness on the top of everything such as tacky lines and Go's job as a kid creator. It's too much. I got through the series just because Um makes it more verisimilar. His acting portrays a delicate mix of rough and wild side and sweet and righteous side of Seo in perfect way. Really.. The script is freaking disappointing, but Um carries 'My Sweet Mobster' till the end.

My Sweet Mobster seems to be a parody of so many cliches not so cleverly put together but perhaps I'm not sufficently well-versed in the genre to judge fairly. The ML has the frozen demeanor and the husky voice of a Marlon Brando or Clint Eastwood and is unappealing. The plot twists are predictable way in advance. Perhaps the scriptwriters were aiming for a screwball comedy along the lines of Howard Hawks and Peter Bogdanovich with its miscommunications and slapstick, but the script lacks momentum and bogs down. The second half of episode 3 became totally bizarre and out of character for the ML, who is supposed to have started out as a thug - all the characteristics of the ML metamorphosis from Episode 1 to the end of Episode 3 are inexplicable. I found myself saying, 'What in h*** is going on?'
The FL shines as a content creator and when interacting with the children but her overall character arc seems lacking. The supporting actors playing thugs are fun to watch, especially Im Chul Woo in his role as rival mob leader, but overall, I did not find the series particularly engaging or funny and I quit early on. I just wasn't interested in the characters.

Thank you director for this amazing drama. Um tae hoo's acting is top notch. All the casting is very well done and their acting is amazing. Didn't even felt in one scene they are acting, they were living in their character. The story is very beautiful. It makes you laugh, sad. So many emotions. Its like a roller coster. Loved this drama so much. It made me sad when it ended. Hope to see um tae ho soon in other drama. This drama is very underrated. This drama is worth more than queen of tears. Hope everyone appreciate this gem. Every one should watch this drama. I'm going rewatch this million times.

Korean Drama '' My Sweet Mobster '' is a romantic comedy, with a romance between miss sunshine and gone good mobster.
The drama utilizes this odd couple to the fullest, with their differences being used as a means for the comedy. The comedy was also enhanced by the band of ex-cons who were our mobster's crew and had created a beautiful found family along with the leading lady.
The romance was also cute and the couple had plenty of sweet and romantic moments.
However, the final episodes were boring and had few surprises to offer.
Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, six out of ten.

I initially loved watching "My Sweet Monster" for the first eight episodes. The funny and romantic drama had a few touching scenes that even made me cry, especially in episode 1. However, after episode 9, I found it hard to continue. The plot became predictable, with 35+ age characters acting overly cute and lovey-dovey without much substance. It feels like the show is just playing with viewers by focusing on cute moments. There are a few well-done and emotional scenes in episode 13, but it quickly returns to the same old boring dynamics. I shall cherish first few episodes of this series and that's it.

My sweet mobster just wasn't my cup of tea, and I feel like the ratings are misleadingly too high. It certainly doesn't deserve a 10/10.
I really forced myself to get through this drama, the storyline was boring, and really, it was 6 episodes too long- 10 episodes would have sufficed.
I also did not like the ML, he was likeable, but his bumbling, embarrassed character trait was annoying and overdone. When he was serious, or romantic, he really was very sweet, however.
The only redeeming part of the series were the live-in "executives"- they were funny, sweet and made the show watchable.
I do not recommend this drama, and do not believe it deserves any higher than a 4/10.
