Knowing nothing, I just picked it out of Netflix library and gave it a go. Initial reaction was fairly pleasant surprise, the show is about ex-SWAT neck deep in debts trying to wiggle out of the problems via becoming a criminal.

As German and Eastern block shows often go, it has non-heroic way of going about violence, violence just happens, suddenly, unexpectedly, without pathos or epic music and is done incredibly well. As for drama, this is where show lacked quite a lot, most of it is about social brotherhood of two main characters, but it's either hit or miss.

There's also deeper story about internal struggles of local (Russian?) mafia lieutenants, and that's delivered rather poorly. You'll get some sense of understanding of who's-who only by last episode, if at all. Rest of the time, it's a mix of bearded men, black SUV's and fingers full of oversized signet rings.

So, in conclusion, "Idz przodem, bracie" is a violent mix of Ozark/Breaking Bad and The Punisher. It never gets over "it's a tv show"-wall, but is thrilling nevertheless. Definitely as - or more watchable than your typical B-action movie.

If you crave for some good action and a bit exotic setting, give it a go.

There was a lot of promise here. The set up is plausible. The execution was not. The writers required too much suspension of belief to pull this off. Its a shame because most of it wasn't required. They couldn't help but go "Hollywood".

The main protaganists were ok. The acting was there. The on location filming and musical scoring were on point. Another good point was breaking the episodes down into one hour episodes. You are able to digest a lot because of good pacing.

There are some background side stories that are sprinkled in but not enough to bog the main story down. Overall its a good series if you can get past the implausible moments and is well worth a watch.

I was really attracted by this amazing social thriller, giving so much importance on characters, even supporting ones. Not too easy to follow, to summarize, but really well made, pulled by convincing performances. It so poignant, gripping, violent in the same time. Only the last part of the last episode deceived me, deceived me so much that I prefer forgetting this TV show from Poland. It could have been darker, grittier, instead of this American like style. You know what I am talking about. I hope that the makers of this TV show will give us something more downbeat next time. I don't regret the time I spent on it. No, only the last fifteen minutes are junk.

Just stumbled onto this mini series.

It's Polish and one of the most edge of the seat, nail biting, and gripping programs that I've seen for a long time.

Explosive action that fully fits the narrative perfectly. Excellently acted, directed and scripted.

The storyline is sharp, NO extra long scenes that are superfluous to the story. A little bit of romance to develop the characters, and fighting scenes that are excellently choreographed and perfectly played out.

Worth watching, for those on holidays or for a weekend binge.

Nail biting series that it absolutely worth watching. This Polish cinema at its best, which is going to give competition to the rest. It's hard to beat.

My husband says 5 as he felt it was 2 episodes too long & average.

I rated it higher as it was good, good action. There were a couple annoying bits like "meet me by the forest". Well it's a pretty big forest. But I suppose there might have been only one small area where it met the road. A couple little buggies like that. Oh, SWAT going to a house but noone covers the rear door.

I liked it because it was Polish. So the cast was fresh (although it wasn't that important).

What I like is looking at foreign countries, customs & houses. Yeah, and organised crime, I guess. They turned someone's house into a brothel, so I get to see how a foreign brothel would be decorated! Not that I know what any would look like - well except for tv. Come to think of it, there wasn't much difference except it did look more up-scale. LOL.

It was interesting to see a person from Ukraine living in a flat sharing the flat with 7 other women, all living in one bedroom in bunk beds. It wasn't a refugee center - but a flat share. And they would still be blackmailed with the safety of their husbands in jail or such in Russia.

To be honest, it's easy to see why so many people want to come to America when American shows have houses like South Fork or mansions. They sure don't show much in the way of realism of "normal" people out in the country in smaller towns. Even there they show the houses with big wooden staircases & stained glass windows & huge rooms.

Anyway, it's interesting. Pretty in places. Decent plot & acting.

Ended up binge watching it in 2 days, watched it with subtitles great story, great action.

Appreciated all the cinematography - colour grading down to a tee.

All the tactical kit and gear, oscar with a devil on one shoulder an angel on the other listening to both a different times, a good guy albeit with a bad streak.

You don't quite get the reason why but you figure out his panic attacks are PTSD from his Army days.

Great character relationships, you can follow how everyone knows each other and how it's all intertwined, two mafia families struggling for power after a streak of paranoia sets the fire below them.

This is the best thing I've watched for years -

The acting, direction, writing , music and pace are all spot on.. There's not a wasted moment and the action scenes are awesome and utterly gripping

But what I really loved (and only the best series do this) is that iit takes you to places, in your mind, that you don't expect to be taken to - it jall ust kind of creeps up on you and without truly knowing why., you know that you are watching something special.

While part of me hopes that there will be a second series, the other part of me is saying, leave it alone, don't ruin things, it's brillant as it is.

Want to see a show about an useless, selfish, thoughtless piece of s-- who brings pain and misery to everyone in his life and has no concern for anyone around him? Watch this f-- show. Beautifully shot, well acted, tense at times, but ultimately nothing more than the meandering horrible excuse of a life of a human sack of feces who should have taken the advice he gave his dad five minutes into the show.

Oh. I'm supposed to write more. F-- that guy. Seriously. Everyone who cared about him is proven an idiot by doing so. But the fight scenes are coo as hell. It's in polish, by the way, for the people that don't like subtitles.

I tried it without any expectations and surprisingly it drew me in right from the start and turned out to be a great crime story with dynamic and gripping action from an area of Europe that we know so little about, especially the criminal world or the police forces dealing with the most difficult cases. The action scenes are realised in such a way that you could watch it for hours. I must admit that I rarely watch 1-2 episodes a day, but I watched this one at the weekend and I can't remember the last time I did. It's nice that the authors didn't stretch it to more episodes, maybe the atmosphere would have sat down, the 6 we got I watched on the verge of biting my nails. I will not write anything about the quality of the actors, because they were spot on, every one of them. I had a great time with it, I can't wait for the second season and I hope it will be just as exciting and we won't have to wait too long. For me a solid 10/10, more of this kind of manly cinema please.

Great quality of fighting scenes, camera work and overall quality - very high level, maybe top.

My advice is to be patience and watch it one episode a day because it's ending so fast ...

Absorbing story with interesting ending, so many possible scenarios in every episode, not obvious once picked by authors.

Really Hoping for next season as soon as possible, but more importantly with same quality :)

One of the worst TV series I've ever had the chance to watch. The acting is weak, and the story is so ridiculous that, as viewers, we can't believe in any of the dialogues or scenes. Everything shown on screen is nonsense that would never happen in reality, which makes the director's concept fail to resonate with me, as the story and the characters' behavior are completely unconvincing. Finally, the main character is so stupid that at times it was hard for me to even look at the TV. To be honest, the Fast & Furious series is more believable than any scene from episodes 1 to 6. I'm deeply disappointed, especially considering the director has some outstanding titles to his name. I truly don't understand why he delivered such a low standard in this series. I strongly advise against watching it unless you enjoy inflicting pain on yourself by staring at your TV.

That was my motivation about this tv show. I started to skip most parts of the episodes.

The first two episodes of this series were pretty good. I was really positively surprised. But from the third episode on, I only watched the interesting parts and skipped through the rest until the end. It just became unbearable.

The series starts logically and interestingly but ends in a total disaster. Several times, I thought, "What the hell am I watching right now?" The acting quality plummeted dramatically. The decisions made just stopped making any sense.

People are slaughtering each other, yet they act as if they have no connection to important people anymore and forgive the murderers for everything.

The main character is supposed to have been in an elite unit? He acted like an intern who spent a week with the police.

All in all, a waste of time. It could have easily been made into a movie.

The only not bad element is the music.

As for the rest, I have to be very honest- terrible scrips and storytelling.

This series is positioning itself in an awkward way. It's not exciting as an action movie; it is not deep/enlightening to be a drama; it is not heroic/chaotic to be a West; it is not romantic/warming for redemption. We could barely connect with any of the scenes.

In the series, the main character was described and acted as a trashy role, and he had never failed disappointing.

After watching them, what we can say is just a WOW. W-O-W! What a script, what a waste of time and what a waste of the music combination talents.

I really did not get how those ratings were so high. It has been so long that we did not feel upset about a series....
