So when I started this I wasn't sure I was going to like it because the beginning was so intense but I was very intrigued by the character, Song Mo so I kept watching. And let me tell you, this show did not disappoint. It was gripping till the very last minute.

This is the first time I have ever watched a c-drama and felt like every character was useful. I think it just shows how much thought went into creating this story.

And ten stars for the ending, no notes, I was very satisfied with it.

All in all this is a must watch for any c-drama lover. Watching it was a very worth while experience.

This shows las some of main trends topics of some in 2024 historical C-dramas: title (blossom), second chance to rewrite destiny and poisoning to eliminate enemies but plot is so good, characters so well developed that it does not feel at all the same.

From start to end I was hooked to the story, loved every character and enjoyed seeing them grow and fight to change their fate.

Love story is super engaging, build up slowly but solid. Strong, smart and mature FL, very good version of a bad ass. ML is also great as their chemistry.

All secondary characters are solid, engaging and grow over time.

Even palace plot that I usually hate is engaging and you want to know what happened next.

It even has a happy ending (yey!): nice closure of every story.

Worth watching ( probably my favorite blossom this year) and hope you will enjoy it.

The plot is interesting and the series contains many elements that I like especially with 2 main leads who have a trusting relationship with each other and work together to overcome the dangers that they face. The FL is smart and bold and there's no complicated love triangles. However what's lacking in the series is the intensity of a romance and good fighting scenes. The romance part in this story is sweet and slow burn. It's a bit slow for me and I lost interest and could not move further from episode 25. I guess I will one day finish this series but not for some time as when I get bored, I sort of fast forward a lot. Both ML and FL are new stars to me and I'm not completely won over by their acting skills.

I have been waiting for this drama for a while. And it didn't disappoint me. This is the one of favourite drama of 2024. And this year (2024) most of the CDrama had sad ending but......

This drama has a GREAT STORYLINE, BEAUTIFUL CINEMATOGRAPHY, the calmness and elegant storytelling, soft color grading, aesthetically pleasing camera angles, good choice of music, and even the strength of each character is very satisfying. What stands out the most is the smart female character who doesn't just wait to be protected by the male lead but can also protect him in return, a truly well-written character.

The male lead is absolutely captivating. The expressions he shows make you both want to protect him and be protected by him at the same time. And the couple in this drama is so adorable, their chemistry is sizzling! His jealousy and His wide smile when he's proud of Dou Zhou is damn cute, He not only respects her choice but even expands her capacity to choose, He is the greenest green frorest. They've already given me butterflies, their relationship before and after fujin furen era. And I can't wait to see what actions they'll take to solve the problems in the future.

The story gets crazier and crazier, with a plot that keeps getting better and not a single scene wasted. The way the director showcases each character's development is excellent. DZ's coolness when she's angry is truly mesmerizing; her brilliance in handling problems never disappointed.

Oh how I loveeeeeee a historical period cdrama

Dou Zhao is an iconic female main character; so refreshingly not a Mary Sue damsel in distress but a genuinely formidable woman who doesn't need a man to complete her or take care of her.

And then her slow burn love story with Song Mo - how they slowly learn to trust, then like, then love one another - is so swoon worthy.

I'm not sure if the show needed to be as long as it was - prob could cut like 10 episodes - but I love love loved the vibes and the characters and the campiness. Oh man, the campiness.

If you drink every time they say "filial piety" you WILL be drunk lol.
