If you can see this movie for free, I recommend it! Not a GREAT movie by any stretch of the imagination,, but it held my interest with the possibility of seeing a supernatural beast in a cave. The story plays out like a live broadcast with the idea that a famous expert is going into a cave to search of a yeti called the "Snow Ghost". Things really pick up once he gets inside the cave and is struggling to move and running out of air. The explorer also experiences other strange and unexplainable things inside the cave which make you question his sanity. The host of the show tries to keep everything together while the whole mission becomes more dangerous and unstable. If you're into cryptids and fantastical beasts, there are better movies when it comes to the creature effects. The "Snow Ghost" isn't going to blow you away! But that little detail also makes sense with the story so I give the director and cast credit for doing a lot with a tiny budget. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a new yeti movie! It's been a long time since somebody has done an abominable snowman movie of any kind. Adjust your expectations and just enjoy!
I didn't have huge expectations for this low budget found footage movie but I was pleasantly surprised. I like the main actor who plays the host and for the most part things line up nicely as a "lost broadcast" style film. Let me remind you that this is definitely not a studio movie and there are some rough spots with the continuity and performances. But the snow cave looks really good and the story kept me interested most of the time. This movie involves a live search for a yeti during a live broadcast with a group of experts. There is a lot of decent banter and humor between the characters until it suddenly gets serious. I don't want to give too much away but the cave exploration does reveal some shocking discoveries and yields a few scares.. While this is considered a horror movie, it's not all that scary other than the few good jumps I mentioned. But the use of interesting myths and legends of the Himalayas combined with passable acting and an above average story allows me to recommend this decent little found footage flick.
Where do I start? Let's start with something nice. The quality of the photography is actually nice. But that's all I got,
After that it goes down hill REALLY, REALLY fast. Wow, a found footage movie, how original. Since you didn't have to work that hard on the concept, you could have least tried to make the rest of the movie interesting ... which it wasn't. The script, or at least what I am sure they called a script. I am placing my bet that they did not spend more than a weekend on this. Looking at the direction and the scripted scenes, don't expect much from the acting and you won't be disappointed.

In an era dominated by big-budget blockbusters and predictable storylines, "Himalaya" emerges as a breath of fresh air, reminding us of the true magic that indie cinema can create. Released in 2024, this remarkable film takes us on an unforgettable journey through the majestic Himalayas, captivating our hearts and souls with its mesmerizing visuals, poignant storytelling, and unforgettable characters. Among them, the character of Doctor Sato shines as a beacon of compassion and strength, while the spine-chilling yeti sequence at the end leaves an indelible mark of fear in our minds. Please nominate Doctor Sato for an Oscar award or something similar fantastic movie would definitely watch again.
A supposedly "live" broadcast of an obsessed anthropologist who explores an ice cave in the remote Himalayas. This micro budget movie is made in a style that tells more than it shows. But what it does show is pretty interesting. Especially the unpleasant discoveries that are waiting for the explorer as he gets deeper inside the cave. The movie deals in many local myths, Nepalese legends, and the possibility that there's a flesh and blood snow creature lurking in the shadows. This is not a hyper realistic movie. There is some decent humor and a few tedious conversations. The filmmakers used a stylized (albeit low budget) approach to the exotic locations suggested in the title. Weaknesses include a somewhat slow pace, average looking creature and and a lot of time spent with the hosts. Strengths include a claustrophobic exploration of a snowy environment with an unexpected twist at the end. Recommended for those who like indie creature movies, especially a title that focuses on the rarely covered yeti!
