While supposedly set in Eastern Europe, Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center in Ohio's Hueston Woods State Park is situated on land with a rich history including the presence of Native Americans, particularly the Miami people. Murals and artifacts within the lodge depict life of the Miami people who lived in the area. The park's history also includes land ownership by Matthew Hueston, a soldier in General "Mad Anthony" Wayne's Indian Wars, and the construction of Acton Lake in 1956, which significantly altered the landscape.
