Avis à la une
Really surprised me as I scrolled through Prime-what a shift from the old DVD store hunts! This movie, though stumbled upon unexpectedly, proved to be a hidden gem. Admittedly, my expectations weren't high, but the film quickly impressed with its clever utilization of A. I. and a storyline that resonated more deeply than anticipated. The plot revolves around a girl feeling isolated in her world, with the robot arguably serving as a metaphor for human solitude and our need for connection. This subtext adds a meaningful layer to what could have just been another sci-fi flick. The way the film explores themes of loneliness and friendship through its tech narrative is both innovative and touching. Additionally, the soundtrack deserves a shout-out-absolutely loved it! The music added a whole new dimension to the experience, enhancing every scene beautifully. For anyone looking for something out of the ordinary, this film is definitely worth your time.
I get tired of seeing the one star ratings by "reviewers" here who think they can elevate their self esteem by slamming a movie. It's entirely as bad as the ten star reviews by the movie staff. Let's be honest. This one has a weirdly paced story, but the writing is not too bad. However you can tell that the writing was patched at the last minute in many places to accomodate footage that was shot, and the availability of the staff or cast. Clearly this was put together from pieces under severe budget restraints. Plot holes and nonsequiturs result. One of the first things you notice is that the fighting scenes are clumsy and amateurish, so they probably could not afford a fight choreographer. That's a severe restriction for a movie with combat sequences and perhaps they should have adjusted the script to minimize that problem. Another thing you notice right away, is that the two sisters in the movie have very different accents, so it's clear they were not raised together. Why didn't the director cast this better, or get his cast to fix their accents? On the plus side, some of the music is fun and the nice robot is endearing. And the lead actress is dressed to attract the eye. On the whole, this might be enjoyed by 14 year old boys. In a world used to movies with a 400 million dollar budget, it should still be possible to make a $400k dollar movie (my guess), a thousand times smaller budget, and it is, but this one has too many faults to be enjoyable by megamovie fans. But for the rest of us, it's barely watchable, and for a few of us, it's possibly sort of fun. Four stars is the right rating. A substandard movie, but still one that someone will enjoy.
This was a wonderful little film with a lot of heart. The characters were very cute and our favorite watching was the sweet, young (not sure how old but according to the film "not old enough to save the world") Emotional Support Robot by the name of Q and his antics and "emotional outbreaks".... It was a nice way to spend the evening and made time fly. (Also I believe the film itself is not that long, definitely not long enough to get bored of any of it, maybe it is about 75-80minutes long, would have to check again for exact number. Very sweet movie, would watch it again and recommend if you like lighter materials with more heart than harsh action.
The movie is quick and fun, and honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Franzi Schissler, who plays the lead, is absolutely gorgeous-she totally owns the screen. Her character's mix of badass and vulnerability kept me hooked. The effects, though, needed some work. You could tell the budget wasn't huge, but the movie's heart made up for it. The story, set in a dystopian future where humans and robots are at odds, is full of action and keeps things moving at a good pace. It might not be a blockbuster, but it's got a cool, indie vibe that makes it stand out. Perfect for a train ride when you want something entertaining without having to think too hard. Franzi alone makes it worth watching, but the movie's energy and pace keep it engaging all the way through.
I Heart Robots is definitely a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this flick during a usual train ride to school and wasn't disappointed. It's quick, fun, and honestly, it's the kind of entertainment us younger folks appreciate-straight to the point without dragging on. Now, let's talk about Franzi Schissler. She's not just good in this; she's drop-dead gorgeous and completely steals the show with her charisma and action-packed performance. I've noticed some low ratings floating around, and I can't help but think they've got to be from Baby Boomers or old-school cinephiles who can't appreciate the simple pleasures of VFX robots and stunning actors doing their thing. Since when did we start hating on cool visual effects and beautiful people saving the world? This movie delivers all that with a style that's perfect for anyone looking for a fun ride without the pretentious cinematic fluff. Seriously, if you're into fast-paced action and want to enjoy your popcorn, give this movie a shot. It's worth it for Franzi alone, but you'll stay for the sheer enjoyment.
