Slow moving, lacked detail

I really enjoy historical documentaries, especially those that touch on a subject that I was unaware of. From the description, and the rating on Amazon and IMDb, I thought this would be a sure thing for a great documentary, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The film was very slow moving, and a little frustrating, in that they would introduce people as part of the story, and not come back to them. It lacked detail throughout. Then there was the problem with the subtitles; they would skip full sentences and phrases, change far too slowly to keep up with what was being said, and then other times would flash far too quickly to read. I had to rewind and pause multiple times to catch what hastily appeared, then also rewinding over and over thinking that "maybe all the speaking that the subtitles missed was some kind of glitch and maybe this time around it will display the subtitles", but it didn't. It was just okay.

Amazing documentary on racism, eugenics, Nazism, fascist Integralism, oligarchies, and - how shocking! - the late slavery of black orphan children in Brazil by those very reactionary upper class landowners! It has precious historical research, deep testimonies and beautiful cinematography, including the black and white ones for fictionalizing where there was no original footage. The two old boys make the documentary particularly moving.

This documentary is about children's slavery and took place in Rio de Janeiro in 1930s where around 50 children were chosen to work in a farm in countryside, they weren't called by name, but by number, sadly just two has survives to tell their sad history, mainly the number 23, this terrible and shameful kind of slavery was sponsored by a new league of Brazilian Nazi political party, it was focused on one of richest family in Rio de Janeiro, impressive tale told by the victims who somehow has been found and remembering the whole awful truth end up suffering a serious damages like alcoholism, depression and angry, it was a crying shame to all elite who were the mastermind of this new path of slavery!!!
