After the conclusion of an investigation, the medical examiner’s office ruled the cause of death as “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine.”

Burrell’s death in her Brooklyn home, where she was discovered unresponsive, was first announced by her family on June 17. In a statement at the time, the family said: “Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered.
