I found myself becoming increasingly irritated while watching this documentary. Statements from these "cyber sleuth" influencers are so ridiculous. "We dig deeper... social media is really taking over the game." All of these people insinuating that they can do it better than police, they are smarter than everyone.

"We have this ingrained idea that you need a diploma or a degree in order to do something. But we're living in a new generation where there's other loopholes to get where you wanna be."

How terrifying is that statement? After listening to these people, it is very obvious they have little post secondary education, if any. The arrogance and attitude that they can do this better than trained professionals is infuriating. Also, the deterioration of the English language and general intelligence of people is evident in the film.

If you have any modicum of intelligence, skip this one. And if you had to look up any of the words in my review, go ahead and watch it.

I recommend watching it to know not to watch these idiots. They are people with no life interjecting themselves into murders and causing more problems for the case itself. The two women in the show Betty and the young girl seem to at least try to be responsible but the others on the show I would like to slap over and over again. They just pass hearsay and unsubstantiated claims around like crazy. This movie is 10/10 in exposure of these pathetic people, but 1/10 in what they offer. I gave the show a 4/10 as anyone who thinks these people are investigating with integrity or wants to add to the problem should see why they shouldn't. Jlr and the younger blond in it are pathetic humans.

Made it 20 minutes in to the first episode and it's god awful. It's mainly the "sleuths" big noting themselves. Terrible. Who thought this was a good idea. A bunch of narcissistic content creators. If this is the future of true crime shows, the genre is dead. It's that bad that I'm writing my first review so other people don't have to put themselves through the torture of watching this drivel. And now I have to keep waffling on to make up the six hundred character limit. Why does it have to be six hundred? It's ridiculous. I swear I've seen shorter reviews on this site before. Like, seriously, it's too much.

I wasted my time watching this ridiculous TikTokker's movie. I was also left irritated by all of it because they are so entitled they can't stop to think that many things are the way they are to get strong convictions. They should not be privy to anything. These "creators" are not trained investigators and are simply out for the next viral video and $$$. I'm embarrassed for them.

The spreading of false information is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible. If watching this doc can make people walk away with that little tidbit of knowledge, then it's worth watching. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Whoever thought this would be entertaining I hope for our sake never produces anything ever again. I was about twenty minutes in before I stopped watching it. That was all I could take. Like water dropping on your forehead. I hate documentaries like this. All it does is bring out the nut jobs that actually have no idea what their doing. These people were interfering with an ongoing investigation. These amateur detectives are not restricted to follow police procedures. That they released this before trial is over is wrong on many levels. And they're not even entertaining. At all. The foul mouthed young lady is particularly annoying. TikTok sleuths do more harm than good. What the hell Paramount?

This is clearly about the social media cybersleuths and how they are not professional detectives. They speculate and run with questionable information. They dive into theories based on random info with relatively thin corroboration of evidence or leads. Then they pivot when more facts come to light. Basically how can they stay relavant and extend the story in the space they exist. I found it funny how the people would be introduced by showing how many followers the online individuals had compared to the actual policeman that had a couple hundred FBook friends. It just seemed to underline where people's intents may lie.

I can't add any other information than what the other poor reviews have stated.

There are legitimate cyber sleuths out there. They do it on their own time and they don't make money on it. They truly want to help without impeding on the experts of the case. They are respectful of the process.

The "cyber sleuths" in this film are in it for the money. They're irresponsible because that will get them the views, make them money, and fill an insecure void in themselves. Please, if you watch this... learn that these are not the ones out there to "watch" but rather find yourself legitimate cyber sleuths group or forum.

These "cybersleuths" think they are better than the investigators and reporters. I hate the repetitive track that they put in, as if we didn't hear what everyone said already. Lots of posturing and snippets of all the social media chatter about the actual crime. Seriously, I think they could do a lot of damage to post the people they "predict" is the killer without knowing the facts. I have never done a 1 star rating. I agree with another reviewer, "A bunch of narcissistic content creators", vying for the limelight. Didn't last 5 minutes. Don't waste your time. Not sure what the intended goal of this TV series..butt it fails to deliver.

I am really surprised to read reviews that think this documentary series is about cybersleuths in a good way or because they hate the people being documented, they leave bad reviews of the show.

There is no moralizing narrator telling you how you should feel about these people. Reviewers seem to think that those making the show need to explicitly say these people suck and that they cause(d) harm. The documentary lets the cybersleuths themselves show how much they suck and as we watch them in action as the Idaho Murders investigation unfolds, we see how they cause harm.

Let's be clear, those being documented really, really suck. They use human tragedy for social media branding, to make money, to feel a part of something that has nothing to do with them, and don't care if their "theories" harm investigations and/or trials. They don't care if they accuse innocent people of crimes and ruin/endanger their lives. They don't care when crime victims are re-traumatized by having to respond to online rumors of guilt or having not "behaved correctly in response to a crime." When shown to be wrong, they double down and create even crazier conspiracy theories so they can keep their followers (and money flowing in). They are happy to sow distrust in the criminal justice system for their own gain. Not that it is perfect by ANY means but these people are happy to tear down an important American institution for selfish reasons.

The documentary shows how there is no check on their content. Instead, the further they fall down conspiracy rabbit holes, the more they are rewarded. You catch flashes of self-awareness in some of the people being documented but they quickly make excuses for themselves.

If you are not familiar with true crime vids on TikTok (or true crime podcasts), you will find this documentary series educational and probably alarming.

These people have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with honest, hard-working armchair detectives. The people featured on this show fall into two categories - people doing this for money (Jenna Cannella), and people doing this to feel important (Olivia). They don't data mine, they don't spend hours raising money for DNA testing, the don't do location sifting, they don't spend hours looking into gruesome police files, hoping to find a connection that the over burdened police missed. Instead, THEY DO NOTHING, but talk about the case of the moment, spending hours rehashing, or worse, spewing baseless theories, about what little nonsense they carry in their heads. THEY ARE CLICK BAIT! Olivia actually had the gall to say that TikTok was better than the real news, because we have no attention span anymore, and people can get everything they need to know about the case from her 30 second video, instead of having to listen to the news, because that could take a whole 2 minutes. OMG, and she actually thinks this a good thing? Congress needs to ban TikTok right now then, not because it's owned by the Chinese, but because it's warping our children's minds. I'm more offended at Paramount +, giving these idiots a platform to spew their misinformation, AND for calling them Cyber SLEUTHS, when they clearly ARE NOT! Interviewing (exploiting) the broken hearted parents of a murder victim, does not make you a detective, neither does vomiting the same tired conspiracy theories to your echo chamber, over and over again. I can see now why the police and judges are irritated with these people.

And about the other comments, saying we shouldn't give this a low rating because we don't like the people, and about how this is a documentary, and we should review it for that, not for the content, WTF? It's bad as a documentary too, not well put together, a lackluster, uninteresting melange of jumbled ideas, with people who are are so shallow, and have so little self esteem, their worth is based on how many followers they have (which this stupid "documentary" actually puts on the screen for all to see, as if this gives them credibility because they have lots of followers). The worst half of these people, are the ones who are clearly doing it for the money (Jenna Cannella), not even trying to hide the fact she's exploiting her followers, by constantly showing off her designer clothes, and sunglasses to her pitiful group of supporters. The sadder part is the "good" half of these people (Olivia), the broken, lonely people who feel important for the first time in their lives because of likes and followers. This "documentary" should have been titled, "So, It Comes to This... And should have been labeled as how social media is a failed sociological experiment. It is damaging our youth in more ways than one (self esteem, time management, disassociation from others, no creativity, no music, no love stories, no life, except a screen, etc). This "documentary" has no redeeming qualities, and Paramount + should be ashamed of itself.

Garbage "true crime documentary". The entire time it is just showing tik tok videos of people's opinions on the case, who have no relevance whatsoever to the actual case. Goes to show how worthless "internet sleuths" really are. They cause much more harm than good.

Anyway, if you are expecting a professional documentary, illustrating the facts that actually happened in this case, this is not for you. However, If you are 12 years old or under, and are a tik tok addict, head to pirate bay and give this a download. In either case, do not pay a penny to watch this. This show does not clearly present the facts of what happened, and instead spends most of the time showing tik tok videos made by children who are expressing their non-relevant opinion on the murders.

I think this show was needed just to show what moronic, fame hungry fakes are out there causing so much upset, chaos and likely injustices! But this gave them another 5 minutes of fame.

Do these "cyber sleuths" have any clue how this is real life with real people and their bid to get more likes could cause real miscarriages of justice.

Leave the job of investigating and prosecuting crime to the highly trained individuals who know what they are doing.

If you think you cam do it better join the Police!

These people are why gag orders have to be given, no it's not your right to know every detail about the case. When it's time go sit in the Courtroom and get your kicks from there.

I wish I had looked this up ahead of time (or at least watched it high so I could forget I ever saw it). As other reviewers have noted, it's an extremely painful watch. All of the "cyber sleuths" are extremely grating. So many of the things they said made me roll my eyes so hard that I fear I pulled a muscle.

It's one thing to decide to get involved because you feel like a case has gone cold or is not receiving the proper attention. (For example, no one can underscore the invaluable work Michelle McNamara did to finally identify the Golden State Killer). But that is not what these individuals are doing. They are hopping on to cases that are already oversaturated with media attention and adding more harmful speculation and misinformation into the mix while also peddling dubious wares of questionable origins in the hopes of getting an extra buck. They tout their superiority to the "mainstream media" because they are not as constrained in what they can say or publish. What they fail to acknowledge is that said constraints are in place to ensure that reporting done by reputable institutions is fair and accurate.

The only reason I gave two stars is that I (masochistically) watched the entire docuseries. The final episode, though far from redeeming the whole exercise, does attempt to expose some of the "cyber sleuths" by revealing seedy backgrounds and highlighting some of the damage they caused. Nevertheless, it does little to save the entire series. It might have been more effective had they interviewed some of the individuals harmed by their speculations or even some of the victims family members. As it stood, the series did little to shed light on the murders, the victims, the perpetrator, or the individuals caught in the crossfire. (As someone who knew little about the case, this was especially disappointing). Instead it gave these borderline trolls a nearly three hour platform to dig in their heels and double down on their baseless claims. Hard pass.

None of these people are "sleuths". They are vain clowns who antagonize other sub 100 IQ people on the internet under the guise they are "smart". After the appearance of "FBI" agent Jennifer Coffiander and professional bozo, Jon Lee Rich, I almost fell out of chair laughing how ridiculous this show was and how moronic the producers must be. Admittedly, I watched this on an airline, and I'd rather still be on the plane for eternity than remember I watched this show featuring spoiled children larping as detectives and fake entitled "FBI" agents who were likely in the mailroom. Unfortunately, I've landed so will never be able to make that bargain.

I've seen a few documentaries involving "Cybersleuths" but this one shows them in all their horrible glory.

Don't come here for a documentary on the horrible murders in Idaho. That isn't what you'll find here. What you'll find here is an unintended documentary on how crime "influencers" destroy modern investigations and honestly how they destroy the lives of innocent people. The sheer arrogance and entitlement of these social media influencers is something to see. They really think they are gods gift to the planet.

Jenna Cannella and Bullhorn Betty really stand out. They both sure seem to think they are something special. Should honestly be sued for defamation for people she accused, and that's just this case. Who knows how many times they've done it before.

There needs to be a serious discussion on how to curb this kind of thing during open investigations. All it does is hurt the investigation. No matter what these people think, they don't help.
