Many of those who protested No Other Land winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film cited the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas. Its focus is the West Bank, which has never been governed by Hamas but by the Palestinian Authority, which holds administrative control there, while Israel retains security control over Area B.
