Avis à la une
The movie Hridayapoorvam starts off strong, with Siddique stealing the show in the first 20 minutes. After that, Sangeeth takes over and carries the film quite well. The placement of characters is perfect, especially Malavika and Sangeeth, who fit their roles beautifully.
The first half moves with a nice flow and keeps us completely engaged in the story. We feel like we are traveling along with the characters. But the second half slows down a little, and the story does not hold the same energy as the beginning.
Mohanlal, as always, simply lived his character and made it look effortless. By the time the movie reached the climax, the emotions were injected well, giving the audience a heartfelt connection.
Overall, Hridayapoorvam is exactly what we expect from a director like Sathyan Anthikkadu - a proper feel-good movie. It's not about twists or surprises but about a refreshing experience. If you enjoy light-hearted, feel-good stories, this one is surely worth a theatre watch.

Sathyan Anthikad's Hridayapoorvam is a light-hearted comedy drama made for a family audience. The film has a really good screenplay in the first half but becomes a little repetitive in the second half. The cinematography is commendable, and so is the music. Although the film is predictable, that isn't much of an issue, as the comic elements keep you engaged. Mohanlal delivers yet another performance. It's his charm that brings a smile to your face. Meanwhile, Sangeeth Pratap is simply brilliant with his expressions. Their on-screen chemistry is delightful. Malavika does a decent job, but her character feels written at a very surface level. Siddique and Sangeeta provide solid support.
A few characters from the supporting cast stand out, while others feel just okay. It's in the second half where the film tries to become an emotional journey, but it doesn't quite succeed in generating the emotions it intends to, mainly because the love angle feels a little awkward. Otherwise, with brilliant comedy in the first half and an average second half, Hridayapoorvam becomes a heartwarming watch that could have been even better if the emotions had worked. Nonetheless, it's worth watching if you're in the mood for a light film.
OVERALL 6/10.

A simple, feel-good film is all we ask from the Lalettan-Sathyan Anthikad combo, and that's exactly what we get in Hridayapoorvam. There are no big dramatic highs or lows, but the presence of a solid ensemble anchored by a sweet Lalettan performance makes this ride enjoyable for the most part. Justin Prabhakaran's music is refreshing; Venmathi is just beautiful to listen to. Malavika Mohanan is also good in a role that gets a more meaningful arc in the second half. But the standout here is Sangeeth Prathap -- good humour is based on "reactions" -- and Sangeeth's scenes with Mohanlal frequently elevate the film, even when it shows signs of sinking. Siddique, Janardhanan, and Lalu Alex make Hridayapoorvam more palatable overall.
Some specific sections could've made the film descend into 'cringe' territory, but the writing thankfully remains steady in the hands of Sonu TP (watch his short film already, if you haven't). Sangita is also a neat presence here, but I wish someone else had dubbed for her. For Sathyan Anthikkad, while this is nowhere close to his iconic works, it's a worthwhile comeback after the absolutely forgettable Makal. DoP Anu Moothedath makes the cast, and especially Pune, look magnificent. To summarize, this is quite the 'crowd-pleaser' -- for anyone looking to bring their friends and families to the cinemas.
P. S. Loved the styling/costumes for Malavika Mohanan -- she was an absolute stunner!
P. P. S. I'm not sure if either of the "cameos" hit the mark. But I'll give marks for trying!

Hridayapoorvam is a slow-paced, emotional drama with a simple storyline. The plot revolves around a heart transplant connected to Mohanlal's character, bringing out family emotions and a few light moments.
The biggest highlight is undoubtedly Mohanlal - his performance is extraordinary and keeps the film engaging throughout. Sathyan Anthikad stays in his familiar filmmaking style, mixing light comedy with emotions. The songs are okay, but not very memorable.
Overall, Hridayapoorvam is a one-time watchable film, carried almost entirely by Mohanlal's brilliance.

Rating - 3.5/5
A light hearted feel good movie exploring relationship dynamics.
The story moves through the life of a heart transplant recipient in his late 40's, who gets stationed at Pune due to some unforeseen circumstances, develops a bonding with the donor's family and how it changes his attitude towards life forms the base of the story.
Good story by Akhil Satyan given life through subtle humourous dialogues and moments by Sonu. Satyan Anthikkad has given the natural feel of his movies through the opening shot itself thereby progressing into a heart warm storytelling by jelling with the new gen audience pulse and vibe into the narration. The filmmakers has also brushed upon the traumas within a family and how it gets healed over time.
Subtle performance by Mohanlal. Impressive performance by Malavika Mohanan upholding the character shades and managed to deliver the accent of a Mumbaikar Malayali brilliantly on screen. 👌🏻Sangeeth Prathap is the real show stealer of the movie managed to perform head on head with the Masterclass with his poised performances, attitude and timely humour. Good performances from Sangita, Sidhique, Lalu Alex & the guy who played Bibin Babu.
Good work by Anu Moothedan effectively capturing the beauty of Kerala & the pace of Pune city chopped into a warm entertainer by Rajagopal. Good Background scores by Justin Prabhakaran, sound design/mixing by Anil - Sinoy duo added with impressive costume design by Sameera Saneesh and kudos to the colourist Nitin Minz giving a vibrant and colourful frames.
A good watchable story for family by Satyan and sons promising a relaxed enjoyable experience.
